PYRO’S LVL 19 TWINK ROGUE GUIDE

Hey guys, and welcome to my long awaited UPGRADED version of my twink guide which I can safely say that it INCLUDES EVERYTHING you need to get for your twink, EVERYTHING to make your twink better and a whole lot of useful information that you can use to improve the way you use your twink. I have had a lot of people suggesting stuff to include in this upgraded version and I have included it all, and I am VERY happy with the result, so I hope this helps you guys make the best possible twink rogue that you can. GOOD LUCK.

Note: I will be doing a slight upgrades of the guide about 2 months after WOTLK has come out.

PS. Most of the time, when I do warsong gulch, I have people asking me where they can get the Arena Grand Master and Throat Piercers, well this guide will tell you how to get it instead of me taking about 5 minutes explaining to you while I am trying to kill other twinks, so I hope this helps you guys out.

ARMOR LIST:

Head:
Lucky Fishing Hat
Lucky fishing hat is really hard to get. The best way to get it is too have a fishing skill of at lest 200 or more and u must have about 20 “Aquadynamic Fish Attractor” which give you +100 fishing when you apply it to your fishing rod. When you have done that, then you can participate in the booty bay fishing competition which is held in “Stranglethorn Vale” (STV) on every Sunday between 2-4pm sever time, to get the lucky fishing hat, you will have to capture a rare fish which can be found in the “Tasty school fish” nodes which are located along the Stranglethorn Vale coastline.

There are 3 rare fish that can be caught, they are called “Brownell’s Blue Striped Racer” (used to get Nat Pagle’s Extreme Anglin’ Boots), “Dezian Queenfish” (used to get High Test Eternium Fishing Line, increase’s fishing skill by 5), and “Keefer’s Angelfish” (used to get Lucky Fishing Hat) And when you get one, you can trade them in to the robot in booty bay (look for the repeatable quest sign to find him). Once you get the right fish, trade it in to the robot to get the Lucky Fishing hat.

Now you think that would be easy right? Will you would be wrong because you guys should know that STV is basically GANK LAND on a PVP sever. This means, that there are going to be a lot of people around which could and most of the time, will kill you and camp you. I’ve done this fishing competition a couple of times and I try to just keep away from the horde and they usually leave you alone, it could help if you had someone to protect you in STV cause the beasts would kill you (they range from lvl 30 to 40).

Green Tinted Goggles
Green tinted goggles can be made by an engineer and you HAVE to be an engineer to where them, you need to have an engineering lvl of 150 to wear and make them.

Neck:
Sentinel’s Medallion
Sentinel’s Medallion can be bought from the pvp vendor at Silverwing Grove in Ashenvale for 76 honor and 20 WSG marks.

Scout’s Medallion
Scout’s Medallion can be bought from the pvp vendor at Mor’shan Base Camp in barrens for 76 honor and 20 WSG marks.

Shoulders:
Serpent’s Shoulders
Serpents shoulders drop from the second boss in WC, they have a 58% drop chance. So there really easy to get.

Back:
Sentry Cloak
Sentry Cloak is a world drop so you will have to pay about 60 to 100g to buy it on the AH.

Glowing Lizardscale Cloak
The Glowing Lizardscale Cloak which you can get form Skum in “walling caverns”, the drop chance for them are 40% so it is pretty easy to get. Just letting you all know sentry cloak looks way better than Glowing Lizardscale Cloak.

Chest:
Blackened Defias Armor
Blackened Defias Armor drops from Edwin Vancleef, he is the last boss in Deadmines.

Tunic of WestfallAlliance only
The Tunic of Westfall can only be acquired by alliance. The quest to get Tunic of Westfall can be picked up at sentinel hill in westfall which starts with “Gryan Stoutmantle”. The quest giver is at the entrance to the tower in sentinel hill. The called quest is called the Defias Brotherhood (You have to get the “Head of Vancleef” to complete the quest, which means you will have to run threw Deadmines). The quest has 7 chains to it. I recommend getting everything you need for your twink that might involve getting experience before doing “The Defias Brotherhood” and “Seal of Wrynn” quests. You can get The Defias Brotherhood quest at lvl 14.

Bracers:
Forest Leather Bracers
Forest Leather Bracers are a world drop and they sell for about 10g to 35g on the Ah.

Wrangler’s Wristbands
These are a world drop so you will have to buy them off the Ah for about 15g to 35g. These have a random enchantment, the best one’s for rogues are Wrangler’s Wristbands of the monkey [+(2 – 3) Agility, +(2 – 3) Stamina] and Wrangler’s Wristbands of power [+(8 – 10) Attack Power].

Hands:
Gloves of the Fang
Gloves of the Fang are a trash drop in “Waling Caverns”, so it would be better to buy them from the AH from 20g to 60g.

Scouting Gloves
Scouting gloves are a world drop and they are a rare one at that. They can sell up to 45g on AH. They have a random enchantment, the best one for a rogue is Scouting Gloves of the monkey [+(3 – 4) Agility, +(3 – 4) Stamina]

Waist:
Deviate Scale Belt
Deviate Scale Belt can be bought from the AH for about 30g to 50g or you can get a Leather worker to make one for you by supplying the mats, which is more cost effective. You will need:
6 Perfect Deviate Scales:
Drops in Wailing Caverns. Can be bought off the Ah. All 6 can be obtained in 1 to 2 WC runs.
4 Deviate Scale:
Drops in Wailing Caverns. Can be bought off the Ah. All 4 can be obtained in 1 to 2 WC runs.
2 fine thread:
Fine thread can be bought from some “trade vendors” and “leather working supply vendors”.

Belt of the Fang
The belt of the fang drops from the second boss in “Wailing Caverns” (WC).

Blackened Defias Belt
Blackened Defias Belt drops from captain greenskin in Deadmines (VC) but you can also buy it from the AH for about 5g to 20g. And if you guys don’t know, 1 strength = 1 attack power, so Blackened Defias Belt pretty much gives you 18 strength.

Legs:
Dark Leather Pants
Made by leather workers, can be bought from the AH for a couple of gold.

Scouting Trousers of the Monkey
World drop, the cost about 25g on the Ah. You will want the +5 stam and +5 agi pants if u can find them.

Important info: Now this is where you can turn your twink into a uber twink with the help of Nethercleft Leg Armor or Nethercobra Leg Armor. Get a leather worker to make you Dark Leather Pants (or you can buy them from the AH for peanuts) or buy a “scouting pants of the monkey” for about 15g to 40g and buy a Nethercleft Leg Armor or Nethercobra Leg Armor from AH for about 300g to 400g and make sure you don’t equip the legs yet since you cant put the leg armor kits on soulbound items. Make sure you have your legs and the leg amour kit that you have chosen and send them to a +60 friend of yours to apply it to your legs and then get them sent back to your twink.

Note, you can’t apply Leg Armor to your legs in trade and you can’t put Leg Armor’s on SOULBOUND items because you can’t send them to your higher lvl character. If you don’t have the gold for Nethercleft Leg Armor or Nethercobra Leg Armor then get Leggings of the Fang which are the next best thing. Another option is Cobrahide Leg Armor or Clefthide Leg Armor (which you can buy for 50g to 120g on AH), depending on your play style.

Feet:
Feet of the Lynx
The Feet of the Lynx area world drop and sell between 60-110g on AH.

Nat Pagle’s Extreme Anglin’ Boots
The only point of getting Nat Pagle’s Extreme Anglin’ Boots is to get Cat’s Swiftness or Boar’s Speed which is a enchant that give a minor speed increase and +6 agility or +9 stamina. The reason why you can only get this enchant on Nat Pagle’s Extreme Anglin’ Boots is because the enchant can only be put on a lvl 35 item or high, and the anglin’ boots classify for this enchant. You can get the anglin’ boots from the fishing quest in booty bay, like the lucky fishing hat.

Footpads of the Fang
Footpads of the fang drop from Lord Serpentis in WC.

Ring 1:
Seal of WrynnAlliance only
You can get seal of wrynn from a quest which starts with a quest item called An Unsent Letter, which drops for VanCleef which is the last boss in Deadmines You can only start the Quest at lvl 16, and has about 12 other quests for you to do before you get seal of wrynn, most of it is running around stormwind talking to people but you will need to run stockades and at the last chain to the quest you will have to kill 2 lvl 30’s to complete the quest to get the ring.

Seal of SylvanasHorde only
You can get Seal of Sylvanas from the Quest called Arugal Must Die, you get the quest from Dalar Dawnweaver in Sepulcher in Silverpine Forest. Quest can only be obtained at lvl 18 and it isn’t a chain quest unlike the quest for Seal of Wrynn.

Finger 2:
Protector’s BandAlliance only
Protector’s Band can be bought from the pvp vendor at Silverwing Grove in Ashenvale for 76 honor and 20 WSG marks.

Legionnaire’s BandHorde only
Legionnaire’s Band can be bought from the pvp vendor at Mor’shan Base Camp in barrens for 76 honor and 20 WSG marks.

Trinket 1:
Arena Grand Master
Now here is where it gets really hard. The Arena Grand Master is a powerful trinket that can be used by anyone at any lvl but it is really hard to get. To get the Arena Grand Master you will have to go to the Gurubashi Arena in STV and open the chest, which appears every 3 hours (12, 3, 6, 9, etc).

You will need about a 4 lvl 70’s to absolutely guarantee that your twink will get the chest. Every time you open the chest you will get one of these , Arena Master, to get Arena Grand Master you need to get 12 Arena Master’s and trade them in to the goblin in the arena to get it. The quest to get it is repeatable but I wouldn’t recommend getting 2 Arena Grand Master since it will take too long to get them all. Some severs are easier than others to get the chest in Gurubashi Arena.

Minor Recombobulator
Minor Recombobulator can be made by a engineer and has 10 charges before it does nothing. You need to do engineering to use it, you will need to have a engineer lvl of 140 to make it. The schematic for it is sold by a vendor in Rachet called Gagsprocket. The schematic is also sold on the AH for a bit more than what it is sold for by the vendor

Trinket 2:
Insignia of the AllianceAlliance Only
This can be bought from a vendor in the Champions hall which can be found in Old town in Stormwind. It will cost you 2805 honor which takes a while to accumulate.

Insignia of the horde Horde Only
This can be bought from a vendor in the Hall of legends which can be found in Orgrimmar. It will cost you 2805 honor which takes a while to accumulate.

WEAPONS LIST:

Daggers:
Assassin’s Blade
Assassin’s Blade is the way to go if you can get your hands on it, and sorry to disappoint some of you but it will cost you 350g to 1500g to get and trust me there isn’t any point in running SFK to get it, it is “too” hard to get. This only drops off the lvl 21+ mobs in SFK which only include 4 bosses and a handful of mobs. The drop chance for Assassin’s Blade is 0.01~per trash mob.

Sentinel’s BladeAlliance only
You can get Sentinel’s Blade for 252 honor and 30 WSG marks, at silverwing outpost in ashenvale.

Scout’s bladeHorde Only
You can get Scout’s blade from the pvp vendor at Mor’shan Base Camp in barrens for 252 honor and 30 WSG marks, at silverwing outpost

Tail spike
There is also Tail spick which you can get form Skum in “walling caverns”, the drop chance for them are 40% so it is pretty easy to get.

Swords and Maces:
Thief’s Blade
Drops from Mr smite in Deadmines.

Cruel Barb
Cruel Barb drops from Edwin Vancleef in Deadmines, he is the second last boss. Easiest MH weapon you can get.

Shadowfang
Shadowfang drops only from the trash mobs and bosses in SFK that have a lvl of 21 or higher, which only includes a couple of trash mobs and 4 of the bosses in SFK and the rare spawn. This makes it nearly impossible to get. On my sever, Shadowfang has only dropped once and was sold for 150g on the AH which was a HUGE bargain, sadly I didn’t get it.

If you want to get Shadowfang, you better off checking the AH everyday and hoping that it might pop up. But keep in mind, you could be waiting a while. I have spoken to people who have waited over 2 years just to get the shadowfang. But if you get it, you will notice the extra damage you will do. Shadowfang costs about 350g to 5000g on the AH, so make sure you save up.

Skeletal Club
Skeletal Club is a world drop so you should buy it from the AH for about 15g to 40g. Proc effect doesn’t proc that much.

Protector’s Sword Alliance only
Protector’s Sword can be bought from the pvp vendor at Silverwing Grove in Ashenvale for 214 honor and 30 WSG marks.

Legionnaire’s Sword Horde Only
Legionnaire’s Sword can be bought from the pvp vendor at Mor’shan Base Camp in barrens for 214 honor and 30 WSG marks.

WEAPON SET UPS:

Offhand:Now for offhands, you need to have a fast offhand like a dagger or fast sword or mace. The main purpose of a OF is to interrupt casters. There has been a lot of talk from people saying that “Thief’s blade” is the best offhand, but I beg to differ. It’s about tied for best offhand, the other offhand is “Sentinel’s Blade” or “Scout’s blade”. All these 3 weapons do exactly the same damage and dps. The only thing that is different between the them is that thief’s blade gives a extra 3 agi more than Sentinel’s Blade or Scout’s blade but these daggers make up for it with the extra 3 stam. You just have to decide which stat u want more. Also Thief’s blade doesn’t require and honor or marks to get, just a VC run or 2, so it is easier to get but the damage for these weapons are the same, so it doesn’t matter which one you really pick in the end.

The only enchant you should have on it is +15 agility, nothing else. You shouldn’t have a proc enchant like firey or crusader because the offhand has a decrease in chance to hit compared to the main hand, making it less of a chance to proc, also the faster weapon speed decreases the chance for the proc effect to proc In the first place. You can use a slow hard hitting sword or mace in your offhand, I think it owns more in my opinion.

If you decided you want to use a slow OF, well you will do as much damage as you would with a fast OF, it just means you won’t be able to interrupt casters as much as you would with a fast OF.

Mainhand: The best MH by far is shadowfang but sadly, it is really hard to get, so the next best thing is Cruel Barb. You should also have a dagger which you would use only to do Ambush or backstab and then swap your dagger with you sword or mace when you have done your backstab of ambush. Never use a dagger to do sinister strike, you should only use a hard hitting weapon for sinister strike, like shadowfang or Cruel Barb. Sinister strike is meant to be used by swords or maces, never daggers. Sinister strike makes you instantly hit with your MH weapon and with a bit of increased damage, if you have a slow hard hitting weapon in your MH like Cruel Barb, you will do a lot more damage from using sinister strike than you would have from using a dagger.

Lvl 19 twink Rogues duel wielding daggers FAIL. A rogue with a Cruel Barb in his MH that is half twinked with just About 1k HP can easily own a rogue who is fully twinked at 1.6k HP who always uses a dagger in his MH. Only use a Dagger to do ambush and use the Macro below to swap your dagger with your uber sword or mace.

Macro to swap your MH with you’re OF:
/equipslot 16 (name of weapon you want in your MH)
/equipslot 17 (name of weapon you want in your OF)
And make another macro exactly the same but with the 16 and 17 swapped so you can swap them back and forth. This macro is only useful if you use a dagger and a sword or mace, not 2 daggers or 2 swords or maces.

Ranged:
Throat Piercers
Throat piercers are the best ranged weapon you can get for your rogue but don’t think that they are easy to get. They are sold by a poison vendor in Tranquillien and guess what, only horde can get them, they sell for 20g to 50g on the neutral AH if the horde are kind enough to sell them there if you are alliance.

Thick Bronze Darts
They can sometimes be bought at the normal AH for about 25g to 50g. If you can’t get them, you can get Thick Bronze Darts for about 1.5g from AH which are just as good.

Hand of Argus CrossfireAlliance only
To get this weapon, you have to do a simple quest. You can get the quest at lvl 10 from “Vindicator Boros” in Blood Watch. The only bad thing about this range weapon, is that you have to carry arrows with you to use it, unlike Throat Piercers or Thick Bronze Darts, which require no ammo to use.

ENCHANT LIST:

Head:

+100 hp: Lesser Arcanum of Constitution
Now a lot of people don’t know how to get the item which does the +100hp to head, I have done some research and here is what I have come up with. You will need to get a few things to get “Lesser Arcanum of Constitution”, here is a list of what you need and how to get them. You will also need 30g.

Black Diamond
Best to buy it from the AH, they are pretty cheap.

Libram of Constitution
Costs about 30 to 50g from the AH.

Lung Juice Cocktail
To get this, you must do the quest “A Boar’s Vitality” or “Spirit of the Boar”. Spirit of the boar is the repeatable quest of “A Boar’s Vitality”. You can get the quest from Bloodmage Drazial at lvl 55 in Blastedlands.

4 Night Dragon’s Breath
To get these, you would have to complete the quest chain that starts with Arathandris Silversky. If you have completed that quest chain, you can do a repeatable quest with her that will give you 2 “Cenarion Plant Salve” per quest. You can use them to cleanse a Corrupted Night Dragon to get Night Dragons Breath. There are only four spawn points for the Corrupted Night Dragon, so here is where they are found. A screenshot is provided below showing the location of these in felwood.

Once you have got all of these, go to burning steps and speak to Mathredis Firestar, he can be found at 65.1, 23.6. Get the quest Libram of Constitution and since you have all four items, you should be able to complete it straight away and get the “Lesser Arcanum of Constitution”.

+8 agility: Lesser Arcanum of Voracity
To get Lesser Arcanum of Voracity you will need to get a few things. You will also need 30g as well as the list of items below.

Black Diamond
Best to buy it from the AH, they are pretty cheap.

Libram of Voracity
This can be bought from the Ah for about 10g to 30g.

4 Whipper Root Tuber
To get these, you would have to complete the quest chain that starts with Arathandris Silversky. If you have completed that quest chain, you can do a repeatable quest with her that will give you 2 “Cenarion Plant Salve” per quest. You can use them to cleanse a Corrupted Night Dragon to get Whipper Root Tuber. There are only five spawn points for the Corrupted Night Dragon, so here is where they are found.

4 Crystal Force
To get these, you have to complete the chain quest from J.D. Collie in un’goro crater and go to the eastern crystal pylon located at 75.2, 50.0 with 10 blue crystal shards and 10 green crystal shards to do the repeatable quest called “Crystal Force”.

Here is where the eastern crystal pylon is found.

ungoroeastpylon.jpg

Once you have got all of these, go to burning steps and speak to Mathredis Firestar, he can be found at 65.1, 23.6. Get the quest “Libram of Voracity” and since you have all four items, you should be able to complete it straight away and get the “Lesser Arcanum of Voracity”.

Talent tree: These are the specs for woltk.

Sub spec:
3/3 Master of Deception
2/2 Opportunity
5/5 Camouflage
This is a good spec for not being able to be seen in stealth, its very good at getting around people, you can get within 1 yard of a player before you are even seen.

Hybrid spec:
3/3 Master of Deception
2/2 Opportunity
2/2 Improved Sinister Strike
3/3 Dirty tricks
This is the spec that I use. The extra range on my sap helps me sap players more easily so I can get ready to do a ambush, the extra increase of 20% damage on ambush helps out a lot. Then quickly swap to my sword and spam sinister strike till they die.

Dual welding sword and mace spec:
2/2 Improved Sinister Strike
3/3 Improved Eviscerate
5/5 dual weld specialization: Increases the damage done by you’re offhand by 50%.
This is a good spec for those who dual weld a sword or mace, dual weld specialization helps your offhand do way more damage, so it makes your OF just as good as your MH

Ambush backstab spec:
5/5 Malice
3/3 Puncturing Wounds
2/2 Opportunity
This spec gives you a whole lot of extra damage on your backstab and ambush and greatly increases the crit chance for you backstab. If you want high damage and a lot of crits from you backstab and ambush, well this is the way to go.

ROGUE STRATEGY’S:

Flag runner:
Now to be a good flag runner, you will need about 1.5k or more HP, a Arena grand master or 2 and a lot of Swiftness Potion. One good thing about rogues is there sprint ability, which makes them perfect flag runners. You can also buy swiftness potions which increase your running speed by 50%. There is also a chest in each base which increases your running speed by 100% for 10 seconds.

If you can get the chest and use sprint and the potion when you run out of your last speed increase, you can get back to your base with most of the other faction not being able to touch you. I have done this strategy a lot and it works. If you don’t have the chest or a potion then just use your sprint when you can start to see the other faction getting too close for comfort. Also if it looks like you are going to die, pop your arena grandmaster and hope that you can get away from the other faction before the bubble wears off or you hope that your faction helps you out with heals and killing off the other faction.

Dual welding sword or mace rogue:
Now if your one of those guys who only uses a swords or maces, here is how you would want to go with doing the most damage you would want to do. First off, you should go the spec I have mentioned above in my guide to insure you get the most out of your rogue. Now what you should be doing in BG’s is when you are in stealth and you are coming up to someone you are going to attack, since you don’t use daggers, the only ability that is useful to you is G…….. , you should do this ability on your target as soon as you can get in range.

Once you have done that, start spamming sinister strike on you target to accumulate combo points. As soon as you get 5 combo points, use Eviscerate, the +15% from your spec should help out a bit. And just keep on repeating till the target is dead. You can also use gouge if you are attacking a rogue that you can’t seem to hit that well. If you can gouge him, come up behind him and then start attacking him. If you attack him from behind, he can’t dodge or parry your attack. This helps you grantee that you will hit him. This is very good against a rogue who has evasion on him.

Dual welding dagger rogue:
For this type of rogue, you have to rely on your ambush and backstabs for your main damage and getting 5 combo points on your target to do Eviscerate. The way I play this type of rogue, is that I always sap my target, get behind him, then quickly do the ambush backstab combo. This does a lot of damage straight off and this can combo can kill non twinks easily. Now if your target isn’t dead, wait for your energy to regain to about 80% , then gouge you target and do a backstab. Just keep on repeating this till your target dies. Also whenever you get 5 combo points on your target, make sure you do Eviscerate for some instant damage.

Hybrid:
Hybrid rogues are those who use a dagger in the MH only to do the Ambush backstab combo, then quickly swap there dagger with a sword or mace to spam sinister strike. They are also good at stealth. The spec I have shown above is the spec I use. I find it is very effective in using all of a rogues abilities. The way I play this rogue, is to sap a target, the extra range on my sap helps me sap players more easily. Then get ready to do the Ambush backstab on my target, then once I have done that, I quickly swap my dagger with my sword, and spam sinister strike and use Eviscerate when I get 5 combo points on my target. The idea with this rogue, is to do a lot of damage straight away then use my hard hitting sword to finish my target off pretty easily.

THANK YOU FOR READING MY GUIDE, I HOPE THIS HAS HELPED YOU ON YOUR PATH TO MAKE A UBER TWINK.

Your guide has been moved to the archive section for the following reasons:

If you improve your guide to address these issues, you are welcome to move the guide back to it’s proper category. If someone else would like to adopt the guide, please leave a comment.

Yes, as of right now (3.2.x)Yes, as of right now (3.2.x) this guide is outdated.

Gear is pretty close – legs/OH aren’t BiS. BoA’s are missing.

A couple quick thoughts on gear:
-You’ll need to watch your hit rating if you don’t have the BoA shoulders – ie., use Spidersilk Drape + Deviate Scale Belt + Simple Pearl Ring to reach the cap.
-BiS MH/OH is SF/SF with Fiery on each right now. Without SF, you’d want something like CB/Something with Fiery on each.

The enchants section is outdated (Bliz’s fault for new patches – not the author’s by any means). Without going into too many details, while a twink needs multiple sets of MH/OH weapons, they can get by with one set enchanted Fiery/Fiery. Right now at level 19 Fiery > all for rogue twinks. 15 Agi and LS make good situational switches, but Fiery ftw.

Talents are outdated also thanks to Bliz.

It’s a great guide but sadly the new patches have dated it considerably.

obsolete? Is this guide pretty much obsolete now? you cant use the item enchantments anymore because it binds the item to the enchanter. so what is a little twink to do? most of this guide is wasted on information you cant use anymore. please update!

    My Tips…@ Drifteros…
You are right with your Str Vs. AP arguement – 1 Str does indeed give 1 AP and 1 AP is just 1 AP, no extra strength. It is worthy to note though that the only benefit a Rogue gets from Str is AP. That’s it. So in theory, the belt gives the same end result as 18 Str, but in the form of 9 Str (giving 9 AP) and another raw 9 AP bonus.

As a Rogue, you would benefit ALOT more from taking Agi over Str. If I’m not mistaken, Agi gives twice the AP bonus as Str, as well as Dodge, Armor, and Crit Chance. But even if the AP bonuses were the same, Agi > Str all the time.

When it comes to deciding say whether you wanna take a piece of gear that has 5 Str and 5 AP, or a piece that just gives 10 Str, both pieces would give the same 10 AP bonus to a Rogue, but go for the 10 Str item – Str stacks with Blessing of Kings from a Paladin, AP doesn’t. Therefore unbuffed you would still have the 10 AP off either, with BoK you would have more of an AP boost with the strength item as raw AP doesn’t get buffed by BoK.

In summary, Agi > Str tenfold, and always take stats over raw bonuses.

As for the insignias, every class has their own specific one, yet they all do exactly the same function. So the Rogue one would be exactly the same to the one above.

    @ Pyro…
Maybe fix the Insignia link as said above? Would purely make it easier to understand that’s all. And perhaps maybe not use so many caps within the guide. Apart from that, it’s a great guide, job well done! 🙂

On another note thoough, I’m not sure if your still active on here (maybe a mod could clarify) and I know that there are a few changes coming in 3.1 that will afect twinks majorly. If you’d like I can help with the remake of the guide, or alterations due to the patch (however you’d like to put it lol). I used to play a twink Rogue myself up until a couple of months before WotLK (stopped due to rerolling servers) and I’m gonna be starting one again soon so I have the experience.

    Hope this helps everyone.
    – Skumball

P.S. Drifteros, might be an idea to edit your comment and close you last BOLD tag as it’s attacked everyone elses below hehe 🙂

STR vs API am still learning the game as I have only been playing since after the BC exp. So correct me if I am wrong on this.

I started reading your guide, and found it to contain good well-thought info, however a comment you made stuck out to me when talking about the Strength and Attack Power buff from the Blackened Defias Belt. You said:

    “Blackened Defias Belt
Blackened Defias Belt drops from captain greenskin in Deadmines (VC) but you can also buy it from the AH for about 5g to 20g. And if you guys don’t know, 1 strength = 1 attack power, so Blackened Defias Belt pretty much gives you 18 strength.”

From the knowledge that I have, yes STR increases AP but not anywhere I’ve seen does AP increase STR, so to say “1 strength = 1 attack power, so Blackened Defias Belt pretty much gives you 18 strength” is kind of misleading. Unless what you meant to say was “pretty much gives you 18 attack power.”, or perhaps I am still a n00b.

EDIT: I also noticed another possile error when you talked about the Insignia Trinkets. Both of these trinkets you have linked are for the warrior class, or so it says when I hover over the link. If these two are in fact for warriors only, are there trinkets for rogues? Was it a mis-link? I am assuming so given that every class has “class-specific” gear you can buy from BG vendors.

    Trinket 2:
Insignia of the Alliance- Alliance Only
This can be bought from a vendor in the Champions hall which can be found in Old town in Stormwind. It will cost you 2805 honor which takes a while to accumulate.

Insignia of the Horde- Horde Only
This can be bought from a vendor in the Hall of legends which can be found in Orgrimmar. It will cost you 2805 honor which takes a while to accumulate.

enchants and weaponsYou forgot to add wat enchants should be used, for a rogue i recommend +15 agility on a thiefs blade (7 agil on the weapon + the 15 agil from enchant for a major boost in damage, dodge and crit) also thiefs blade is probably the best off hand sword to use because it has very fast attack speed and pretty good dmg.
for main hand, if money is not an issue, also get +15 agility enchant and depending what kind of rogue you will be (sword/combat, or dagger/ambush) you would want to put it on a cruel barb, shadowfang, or the mace from WC (forgot the name) shadowfang being the best choice here but good luck on that. for daggers get the sentinels blade ( or scouts, same thing) from PVP vendor, it has nearly as much DPS as assasins blade but it is very easy to get and costs no gold, has nearly the same stats as well. But, if you cant affor the +15 agility enchant (upwards of 150g depending on prices) go for lifetealing enchant on mainhand. it is a VERY useful enchant because it heals you when you hit someone and has a very good proc rate, this enchant has saved my life countless times in battle against very tough, and usually mutiple enemies at the same time. this enchant isnt really cheap but it is alot cheaper then +15 agil, i got each of mine for about 80g.
In my opinion, one of he best setups for weapons is to have a powerful main hand like cruel barb with lifesteal enchant, then a thiefs blade in the OH with +15 agility on it. this works wonders because in the main hand, the lifesteal enchant procs a lot. i never recommend putting a slow weapon in the off hand like cruel barb unless you have an eqaully powerful and same speed in the main hand. check out my twink, maybe we will play sometime [Wildhammer server] Sneakattackx trying to get the fishing hat, need to level my fishing more though so i can 😛

Good Job. One thing though…Great job on the guide. There is one thing, however. If this is a lvl 19 twink rogue guide, how come you put a list of 2H items? Besides that, WTG! 🙂
