How To Install:
- Download the addon using the big shiny button.
- Download TomTom from WoW Interface or Curse. TomTom is important! Without it, you won’t see the arrow telling you where to go! Get version v70000-1.0.0 or later.
- Unzip the downloaded files into your addons directory. (How do I unzip the file?)Windows 7/8 location:
C:UsersPublicGamesWorld of WarcraftInterfaceAddons
Mac location:
Macintosh Main HD/Applications/World of Warcraft/Interface/Addons
- Log into the game. In the lower left-hand corner of your character select screen, you should see an “Addons” button. Click it. The WoW-Pro addon and TomTom should both be listed. Make sure they are checked, and you’re ready to go!
- If you have any trouble installing the guide, stop by our Addon Help Chat Room to get help!
You can also visit the WoW-Pro Leveling Addon Troubleshooting Guide, where you’ll find a fix for most common issues.
Don’t miss out on updates!
Features:
- Will cover EVERY zone, not just the “best” ones
- Automatically checks off steps as you progress through the guide
- Completely customizable view
- Arrow and map points show you exactly where to go

- Innovative “sticky steps” help you manage quests you need to complete as you go!

it does not do anything itit does not do anything it hangs when i complete a step it does not mark it off and if i manually check it off it checks off all three of them, including the turning in of the quest. ty for any fast response i have a toon just sitting there waiting to fix it so i can test it and see if it works right.
On the plus side, when theOn the plus side, when the shattering happens, people without beta access will now be able to help out with making any unfinished guides for the 1-60 zones.
When the Shattering happens,When the Shattering happens, we’ll release whatever we have done. Unfortunately at this point it doesn’t look like every zone will be covered right off the bat, but a LOT of them will. I have almost completed all of the Horde Kalimdor zones, and I know people have been working on the Alliance side stuff too.

New Recorder and Cataclysm Update!Hi guide writers, coders, and testers!
I just uploaded an update to our Cataclysm version of the addon, and a HUGE update to the recorder! Please make sure, as always, to back up your work before installing this update.
New features in this update include…
Leveling Addon

Reminder for when you have new spells that need to be learned!

New type of step: Loot.

Addon now tracks items that need to be looted, just like quest objectives!

Many new guides recorded and written by our community members!
Recorder

No more blank looking guide window! The addon now takes the selected step (see below) as the active step, so you won’t have to scroll up to see the thing you just recorded!

Select steps! You can now select a step to be the new point for steps to be added. This interface also works with delete step, and the other new features described below. Left-click a step to select it.

Move step up or down. Right-click a step to get a menu with this as an option.

Clone step. Right-click a step to get a menu with this as an option.

Edit step. Use the little pencil button, you will get a dialog box for editing the selected step.

Add step. Can auto-populate from a quest in your log if you want! Use the plus button to do this.

Add note. For simple cases where you just want to add or edit a note. Click the speech bubble button for this.

Open Guide. Open a guide you’ve edited and saved with the recorder.

Delete guide. Deletes the current guide.

Tooltips for the buttons (so you don’t have to memorize this 😉

To come: I would like to add the ability to record coordinates with one click, store them, then apply them to a quest.
We’ve been unable to focus onWe’ve been unable to focus on updating old guides due to the massive amount of work the new Cataclysm guides require. Trust me, the new guides will be FAR better than the old ones.
Needs WorkThe guides Great.
But the Addon needs work.
The co-ords are frequently Wrong and Parts of quests are skipped.
Hmmm, I haven’t had reportsHmmm, I haven’t had reports of this elsewhere. I know the next guide function is working in my in dev version. I won’t be pushing an update again until the Shattering, but at that point it will definitely be working.
Do you by any chance have the WoWPro Recorder addon? Having that loaded prevents the main leveling addon from auto-loading the next guide.
Bug, or user error?Hi, whenever I use your guide, which is great btw, my next guide never loads. It use to load by itself when I finished a guide, but it doesn’t anymore. Is this some kind of bug I’m not aware of, or is this user error? I’m getting ready to level a Dwarf Shaman and I would love to power my way through the levels! Thanks and I appreciate the help!
I have the betahello there,
just to let you know i got the beta and wondering if there is any way i ca help?
Yes! You were supposed to beYes! You were supposed to be up there, I remember specifically thinking of you and then I apparently got distracted by something >_<
Added!
Are you addingPeople who submitted recorded versions of guides? 😀
Testers! I need names!Hey everyone!
If you have ever submitted a bug report, and would like to be listed on the addon team, let me know! I don’t really have a way to go back and get everyone’s name now, but I really feel it’s important to acknowledge all your hard work!
Thanks for everything!
That’s quite possible,That’s quite possible, though with the recorder enabled it shouldn’t try to load the next guide.
Sorry for not responding to this error, but we are completely changing many things in the code right now and my code probably looks nothing like your code anymore 🙁
Looks like884 — Auto-Complete: Level based —

893 and tonumber(WoWPro.level[i]) <= newlevel then
894 WoWPro.CompleteStep(i)

It looks like maybe you didn't have a guide to load after the one you had loaded maybe?

Icecrown Guide by NLX3647Very early on in the guide the quest It’s All Fun and Games has 2 versions, horde and alliance. The Alliance guide uses quest ID 12892, which is the Horde version. The Alliance version is 12887.
Overall, I’ve loved this guide since I first used Jame’s Guide way back in BC. In the addon, I have noticed several instances (which I sadly did take notes on) where the lua file was missing the QID for certain steps, causing them to not clear when the quest step was completed. I fixed them by using LightHeaded to find the QID and edit the LUA. I’ll make sure to note every instance where I find this when the guide is updated for Cata and I’m leveling the first of likely 3 Worgen. 😀
Hello Kachi!
Basically atHello Kachi!
Basically at this point in the guide’s development, for the current 1-60 content, there’s no easy way to tell.
HOWEVER! There is good news. In the new guides for Cataclysm, which we’re busting chops to get finished, you’ll be able to tell easily. I’ll copy in my explanation, since I answered this a while ago for someone with a similar concern:
We’re doing two things with this. First, every step that depends on a previous step will be marked that way. So, when you try to skip a step, if a bunch of other quests depend on it, the addon will tell you and ask if you want to still skip it or not. This is good if you’d like to manually decide what steps to do.
In addition, we have a Completion Rank system in place in Cataclysm. The guide author marks quests as either a 1 (most important), 2 (out of the way and/or no follow ups) or a 3 (out of the way AND no follow-ups).
You then can choose to set you completion setting to 3 (the default, you do ALL quests, good for people going for Loremaster etc.), 2 (if you have a bit of extra XP, or just don’t feel like doing unimportant quests, this should be great), or 1 (you have lots of XP bonuses and want to skip quests whenever possible).
Unfortunately this won’t be implemented in the old guides, it would take FOREVER! But all of the new Cataclysm guides will have these features, and we will be revamping the Outland and Northrend guides to include them as well.
Hope that answers your question, let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!
A question…First off, I love all the guides. I’ve been using them since I had to print them out. The thing is, I used them on Horde so I knew what I could and couldn’t skip from doing it so much.
I’m now on Alliance, half way into 47 and I just got into the Guide “Swamp of Sorrows 44-45.”
So, my question is, how would I differentiate between what guides I can and can’t skip?
I know everything ties into each other, but things are getting Gray, and I know Green is Great, but Gray is not :(…
I will say, having played inI will say, having played in the beta, that the new quests are MUCH more directed – you follow a common story-line through the zone, it’s really amazingly well done. Many of the NPCs go from being faceless people telling you to “kill X, loot Y”, to being awesome and quirky characters with their own stories. I just can’t stress enough how GOOD the quests in the new expansion are!
That said, having a nice guide to follow is still something I love to have – it lets me relax, focus on the gameplay and the story and not where exactly in the map I’m supposed to be going and what order I should do things in.
I am glad there are manyI am glad there are many like minded individuals working on this project.
Always a bonus when the game community are the people directly creating the mods.
I would also like to note that every single one of my characters has been leveled using a guide from this site.
I have been playing for years, and none of my characters ever made it to a max level without one. Mostly because the current quest system in the game doesnt follow much of a set path.
Thanks for the reply!
This is definitely going toThis is definitely going to be taken into account for Cataclysm guides!

Accounting for xp bonus.Any way to do this within the addon?
Currently I simply ignore certain quests which I know are not part of a chain. This does two things:
1: i dont wind up way ahead of the guid in terms of levels
2: It goes much faster.
But, while my memory is pretty good I dont think I will be able to always know when I can and cannot ditch a quest, manually check them off and still be able to continue with the major portions of the guide.
For example, I wouldnt want to ignore and click past any of the ghostlands quests that lead up to the traitors destruction, but some others I do wish to skip.
Any plans for quests to be tagged and skippable in this fashion? Dont know what they could be called, but with a 20% increase (or more in cata) in XP I certainly do not need to do 100% of the quests to follow the guides.
Maw’s Guide TypoIn Maw’s guide for Elwynn Forest, step 17, it says to loot 12 Red Burlap Bandanas instead of the now-accurate 8.
Cataclysm Addon UpdateHi folks! I’ve updated the Cataclysm recorder package to include the most recent exploits of both Bitsem and myself. You can download it here.
If you have recorded files, send em in! I’ll try to update this package every time a new guide section is completed. Thanks for all the hard work!
Addon Update – v1.7.0Both the normal addon and the WoW-Pro Recorder have been updated! Here are the release notes. The download links for the main addon are above. For the recorder, you can download it by itself here, or with the main addon and all Cataclysm leveling guides here.
Current Version: 1.7.0
NOTE: This addon is still in a heavy development stage. It is recommended that you delete the WoWPro.lua file in your WTF folder when upgrading to the new version. However, this will result in the loss of manually checked off guide progress and display settings.

Bug Fixes:

Serious crash issue related to quest items fixed!

Issue related to getting quest objectives fixed

Issue related to getting quest entries from the log fixed

Taint issues introduced by checking party members fixed

Known Issues:

Unable to check off item – the step probably doesn’t have a QID, which means it’s a mistake in the guide file. There are sadly still a lot of these around. Try right-clicking the check box, or listing it as sticky. We’ll fix these as they find them but we have to be focused more on Cataclysm guides right now. Sorry!

Profession Quest Error: Profession-specific quests currently cause the guide to throw an error, because of the changes to the profession window. Will be fixed in the next version!

Occasional crash/DC – the addon is causing occasional crashes and DCs. We are working to find the source of this issue – please report any occurrences of this so we can determine the problem! It may have to do with conflicting addons, so if you do experience this problem, try disabling other addons and see if that allows you to continue.
Troll Level 12-15Here’s what I amassed next. Didn’t go to the Barrens, went to Lake Mennar area instead. My first hoardie this level in Beta, so not sure if all races mesh with Goblin, or if I should have gone to the Barrens to continue the Troll. May continue this quest chain before I go to Barrens to check it out.

Hope this is helpful. 🙂
Zangarmarsh CrashI’m in Zangarmarsh, and when I start the game the guide is on Hellfire Peninsula. When I go to the guide list and select Zangarmarsh the game freezes, and I have to ctrl-alt-del to get out of it. I have deleted and reinstalled the addon, restarted my computer, and I have turned every addon off except wowpro, but the same thing happens when I select Zangarmarsh. This is confusing because I was using the Zangarmarsh guide yesterday fine, and I even selected it the same way (from the guide list). Also when I try to get to the Zangarmarsh guide from the end of the Hellfire guide (I clicked every box until the end) the game freezes as well.
Whee!Oh I hope so! Luck, luck, luck to you! Would love to see you in the beta! 🙂
Feedback needed again!I need some feedback again for the WoWPro addon. I’m finishing up the implementation of some key bindings options, two in particular: to use the first item shown in the guide frame; and to use the first target button. Players will be able to re-bind these in the WoW keybindings options, but I need the default keys. I was thinking CTRL-SHIFT-I and CTRL-SHIFT-T, respectively. Thoughts?
Yeah, this is an error onYeah, this is an error on our side. I actually think I have this one fixed in our dev version, just need to push the changes to a downloadable package and I *think* you should be okay.
Hopefully will get that done today or tomorrow.
Top notch! Can’t wait to seeTop notch! Can’t wait to see it in action 😀
I am still an armchair mode with beta, but thanks to some leg pulling and negotiating I may be catching some beta time soon 😀
Jezz
wkjezzThis is actually from the Beta.
I’m hoping to get familiar with the addon coding since it seems pretty easy with the recorder. I’m an altaholic, so love just running around doing random things. lol.
I have a couple of 80’s on live, but not a lot of time for end game stuff. (I have little kids. And big kids. 😛 ) So, needless to say, running around with the recorder on is a ton of fun for me!
Great job on all the amazing content you’ve been posting!!!!!!
Bits
Things I never thought I’d say…

FantasticI am DYING to test this again next week when I get back home. I do have a question for you. Is this live or Beta? I have actually leveled every race but troll ><

Done as a HunterDid it as a Hunter this time, it’s slightly different as I see a line for A/C/T on the Druid but only a line for A/C on the Hunter.
