Current Version: 7.3.2
Last Update: Oct 24, 2017
Next Update: Nov 15, 2017
How To Install:
- Download the addon using the big shiny button.
- Download TomTom from WoW Interface or Curse. TomTom is important! Without it, you won’t see the arrow telling you where to go! Get version v70000-1.0.0 or later.
- Unzip the downloaded files into your addons directory. (How do I unzip the file?)Windows 7/8 location:
C:UsersPublicGamesWorld of WarcraftInterfaceAddons
Mac location:
Macintosh Main HD/Applications/World of Warcraft/Interface/Addons
- Log into the game. In the lower left-hand corner of your character select screen, you should see an “Addons” button. Click it. The WoW-Pro addon and TomTom should both be listed. Make sure they are checked, and you’re ready to go!
- If you have any trouble installing the guide, stop by our Addon Help Chat Room to get help!
You can also visit the WoW-Pro Leveling Addon Troubleshooting Guide, where you’ll find a fix for most common issues.
Don’t miss out on updates!
Features:
- Will cover EVERY zone, not just the “best” ones
- Automatically checks off steps as you progress through the guide
- Completely customizable view
- Arrow and map points show you exactly where to go
- Adjustable XP settings work with…
- Heirlooms
- Recruit-A-Friend
- Dungeons
- PvP
- Works great with partially leveled characters
- Integrated quest tracker (can be disabled if desired)
- Integrated quest item buttons
- Supports step skipping (the guide knows the difference between a skipped step and a completed step)
- Innovative “sticky steps” help you manage quests you need to complete as you go!

I have no error codes toI have no error codes to post, but I’ve had to disable the guide all together. It doesn’t d/c or crash my WoW, it crashes my entire computer! First my screen goes black, then flickers the resolution notification while switching between black and white screens. Then it goes blue with my OS error messages, forcing my computer to restart.
I feel lost without the guide, lol. So I’m eagerly awaiting a fix.
not using scroll function, not using scroll function, and even tried enabling that function. Not had any crashes yet. Also fyi, tried running with ONLY WoWPro addon enabled (no other addons) and still get the same lockups at the same points.
Okay, next question – areOkay, next question – are you using the scroll function? If so, try turning it off – there’s a bug that causes the game to crash when it’s enabled, if you do a quest that has an item button. The bug is fixed in our development version and I’ll be releasing an update this weekend, but for now, try playing with scrolling turned off if you aren’t already.
Unfortunately, because ofUnfortunately, because of the interface we’re using for the recorder, you have to hit “enter” in every single field when you are registering a guide. Even the ones that got automatically filled in! Once you have, and when you hit “register guide”, you’ll see a mostly blank guide pop up on your guide window, with only one step called “First Step” or something like that. After that, you should be good to go!
recording not working for meI want to report that the recorder is not working for me.
When using register button, nothing happens. Did some questing and then tried to save but did get then a error message. (lua). Would it help if I copy paste that error here?
I was trying to record the dailys in Icecrouwn.

These are ones i found in a few minutes of just going through each guide. There are probably more than this. If you need me to I can probably go through all the guides on a lvl 80 character (got horde and alliance) and see if they freeze and document each one.. but will probably take a bit of time.
Hmmm, looking at the code itHmmm, looking at the code it doesn’t look like it marked it 🙁 oh well. Honestly for people willing to run the recorder, even if the result has mistakes or things like class quests mixed in, it’s still really really helpful and you shouldn’t worry about editing them yourself unless you want to.
Sounds coolSo I don’t have to go back and edit in the quests for different classes then, sounds a lot easier than what I thought I had to do lol.
Awesome! Thanks for this,Awesome! Thanks for this, glad the recorder is working for someone >_<
I still intend to put up some documentation, but things have been CRAZY over here, and I've been trying to get some bugs on the website fixed and some features added.
They should automatically beThey should automatically be marked as such – smart addon is smart 😀
It basically checks if the quest is listed under a header that matches your class name and if it is, adds the class tag.

Class specific quests when levelingI’m recording but what should be done with class specific quests?
Thanks snickerbits – this isThanks snickerbits – this is the detail I need 🙂 I’ll try to find the cause of the errors ASAP!
Hmmmm… Can you tell me theHmmmm… Can you tell me the exact faction, guide and step where this was happening? Unfortunately it’s hard to check what’s going on otherwise. Thanks!
Probably just a missingProbably just a missing quest ID in the guide file. Try right-clicking instead of left clicking if you don’t want to check the guide file itself, or try stickying the step if that doesn’t work. Sorry, I’ll look into it and hopefully get it fixed by the next update!

Guide lockedHello,
I’ve an issue with eversong guide, when I start a wow game it lock to “level 3” step, I cannot deactivate it the only way which make it work again is to gain a level.
Lock upsHi,
Firstly would like to say congratulations on the best leveling guide I have found. I have been using this addon/guide for many years and leveled many characters to 60, 70 and 80 with it.
Since the new patch however, I have been experiencing some problems with this, so much so that I cannot use it and have had to go back to the standard Tourguide guides.
The addon seems to lock up on certain steps, mainly ones that require you to go to a specific location, or catch a flight to somewhere. Clicking on the tickbox does nothing and you cannot skip this step. Resetting the guide does nothing, when u get to the same step, it still freezes. Deleting the addon folder, WowPro from saved variables folder, etc does not fix this either. Hoping you can help me out here.. cos I love using your addon
Many thanks in advance,
Skroob
Alliance Side starter dwarf bugI’m a Dwarf Warrior lvl 6??
Town after Anvil Marr on Dun Morogh map.
(forgot name heh bad memory at this time of night)
Sell Junk.
that quest/request on the addon it wont let me checkmark/skip it or anything.. and i have nothing but a hearthstone in my inventory.. tried restarting addon, forcing different guide to load and /reload in game.. disabling and re-enabling addon… etc..
no lua errors occuring but it wont let me checkmark! even after I already sold everything in my inventory but my hearth stone ;o
Anyways, fix please since it wont let me really progress using the addon… keeps calling that up..
Anyone have a fix which allows the addon to start working or how I can add the fix without waiting for a patch update.. let me know I’ll def. try to add it ;o (will look into the files tomorrow see if anything looks irregular… never messed with addon code before for wow but shouldnt be too hard to spot a irregular event based off other calls of quest/actions..)
Win comment is win.Win comment is win.
Crashes updateIf you are experiencing crashes, here’s what I recommend:

Disable all the other addons and try to log in;

Disable all addons and try to log in. If the problem persists, it should be an issue with WoW patch 4.0;

If the problem continues, it’s an issue with WoWPro addon:

if the scrollbar option is turned on, try to disable it (like, by logging in with another character that shares the same display profile);

if the problem continues, delete the WoWPro file in the WTF/…/savedvariables/ folder. This will unfortunately cause your display options and the guides to reset to the default. But it’s a workaround to the problem, until we fix it completely.

Also, if you want to help, please post the current step and guide when the issue occured, and what else was going on during the crash (for example, just after clicking or completing a step, whether or not the scrollbar was turned on, etc).
For testers/coders:
Some things I noticed about the crashes:

They can occur with only WoWPro addon enabled;

I was able to reproduce and fix one kind of crash: with the scrollbar option turned on, if there’s a looting item step in any of the 15 rows of the addon (visible or not) and the player has that item in his bags, it would cause a crash.

Other crashes I noticed, through personal experience and reports, happen with steps that are accept quests through clicking items. So, this is likely a different bug than the previous fixed issue.
If you want to help, download the last commit from github, that has my latest fixes. And play with the scrollbar option turned on.
Disable the WoWPro addonsDisable the WoWPro addons and try to log in the affected characters. If the problem is the addon (and not this patch 4.0 issue), the workaround is to delete the WoWPro file in the savedvariable folder.
Oh, true! Basically anythingOh, true! Basically anything that has a gear when you mouse over it has the possibility of DCing you.
This could also just be aThis could also just be a 4.0 patch issue, as it’s a bit prone to dc’s and crashes
Hmmm. The crash happens onHmmm. The crash happens on entering the world? Silvann just added a fix for a crash related to looting, but I don’t think this is the same thing.
If you get a chance, try logging in with just our addon and TomTom enabled, if you haven’t yet. I’d like to see if it’s possibly due to a conflict.
Sorry about this!
CrashesThe latest version of this addon makes my game crash. I can’t enter the world at all with the affected characters. The game locks up and crashes to desktop.
guide mis-step, opps :)Just a note to remind you that guide Hillsbrad Foothills (35-36) 1/87 still tells you to buy a soothing spices which is no longer in the game. :O
Great, that worked! Thanks aGreat, that worked! Thanks a lot… 😀
If the box is nowhere onIf the box is nowhere on your screen, you may need to reset your settings. Sadly you will lose your other display settings related to the WoW-Pro addon as well (text size, style, colors, etc).
There is an option to do this in the profile panel, in interface options under WoW-Pro Guides.
Hope that helps!
Hmmm, on my machine theHmmm, on my machine the guide text box doesn’t appear while the TomTom arrow is correctly updated upon quest progress. Any idea how I can make the box appear again?
Thanks in advance,

Also: The WoW-Pro Guide Recorder has arrived! You can download it here or from your addon website of choice. It’s still a bit buggy and the scroll feature doesn’t seem to be fully functional with it yet, but it definitely works!
ANYONE IN THE BETA – it would be a HUGE help if you wanted to run the recorder while you play, pretty much in any zone. If it’s a zone which already has a “paper” guide, it would be best if you followed the guide – but even if it doesn’t have one or you don’t follow it, it’s still a really big help to get those guide files started.
When you are ready to quit or reload your UI, make sure you hit the save icon. This will pop up a window with an edit box. Select all, copy, and post the result here on the website. It will then also save the guide in your WTF folder, so you can open it up and work on it again. If copy/pasting the stuff from the edit box doesn’t work for you, you can also send the WTF file in.
Thanks in advance, it would be awesome to have an army of WoW-Pro folks recording guides for pretty much every zone in the beta. Looking forward to it!
If that does not work, makeIf that does not work, make sure the scrollbar option is disabled. It’s related to some of the crashes.
We did locate a problem withWe did locate a problem with one of our functions, I’m releasing an update today that might fix the problems you are having.
Hmmm. This has been reportedHmmm. This has been reported before and I thought I fixed it. Are you certain you have the most recent version of the guide (soon to be 1.6.1, but previously was 1.5.0)?
Let me know if you DID have 1.5, it should have been fixed then and if it wasn’t I’ll have to see what could be causing the problem.
Thanks!
Sadly there is an as-yetSadly there is an as-yet unknown problem causing occasional crashes with the addon. Any specific information regarding what steps cause the crash and what addons you are running could help us determine what’s causing the issue.
Same issue for me loadingSame issue for me loading Bloodmyst Isle guide.
Darenei guide stucki enjoy the new wow-pro addon. have tried it out on several toons but i’ve found a problem with the Draenei Azuremyst guide. It hangs up on 68/192 Visit Class Trainer and i cannot skip the step. i can work around it by using the scroll feature but it alwasy defaults back to the stuck step so it’s kind of a pain. but still i love the addon. thanks
Crashing alsoI have been crashing lots since monday night (yes just before the patch), It started with doing the Hillsbrad guide, trying to click off the Naga quest (from Ashenvale at the start of the hillsbrad guide) I have deleted my saved variables file two or 3 times, which fixes it untill something else messes up.
Well atm, i logged on myWell atm, i logged on my warr and clicked on the 13-15 guide of westfall and the whole game froze ?

Actually, unless it’s in theActually, unless it’s in the DK starting area, it IS our addon’s fault – or more correctly, the guide file’s fault. Unfortunately most of these errors will NOT be fixed, since we have so much to do and these fixes will be meaningless once Cataclysm comes out. Sorry!
Unfortunately, we have toUnfortunately, we have to wait. The WoW-Pro addon uses a seperate addon called TomTom to provide the arrow pointing to the objectives. It’s a part of TomTom which is broken right now, which we can only wait for it to be fixed 🙁
-Skum
The current version of theThe current version of the addon should work great with 4.0, since it works in the beta client. You’ll need to load out of date addons, until I get the next update in, which might not be until this weekend – school is busy!
4.0 Release? Was wondering if WoW-Pro had been tried on the PTR or if we need to get an updated version with 4.0 coming out today.
Thanks for all your work!
PS. Been following the Northrend guides and they ROCK, already level 73 and done about 50 quests I missed on my paladin! Can’t wait for the new zones to try a level 1-80 speed level run am up to testing anyones new guides just drop me a line.
PPS. I hope my update to 4.0 is live my updater says its the PTR but I didn’t download or install the PTR client…
Ok, no worries. I guessOk, no worries. I guess this is a similar issue, but sometimes the TomTom arrows point to the wrong zone. Is there something I can do on my side to fix it, or do I need to post them here so that you fix them?
Thanks for getting back toThanks for getting back to us on that, that’s actually a very helpful detail. I’ll see if I can figure out what’s going on.
It’s a problem with TomTomIt’s a problem with TomTom (or rather, a library TomTom depends on) and nothing we can do, sadly. TomTom’s author has stated that he thinks the library might be updated soon, or that he may do some sort of work around.
Further note: This happensFurther note: This happens every time a item based quest objective is reached. When I right-click an item that gives a quest the game locks up and will lock up upon log on until I remove that step(s) from the guide file. OR turn off the mod, which… why would I want to that… I love this mod.
Arrows not working for my DKHi guys,
When I start a DK the arrows are not working. However, as soon as I have to go to Thrall it starts working. How do I fix this?
Thanks.
