- A promise to update the guides frequently.
- A few bug fixes and enhancements.
The updated guides include:
- Just about every guide had updates due to the more stringent error checkers in the new parsers.
- New exploration guides from Kaboca
We have many fixes/enhancements this update:
- Version 2.6.0a has fixes for hangs when using WoW 5.3
- The guides are now hidden uniformly when entering instances or pet battles.
- Dalies guides now reset automatically at load time.
- Loots are now counted accurately
- Automatic flight point autocomplete works uniformly
- Interfaces to secondary addons like TomTom and Grail now work across the board
- The stuck guides problem should be gone!!!!
We have 2 known bugs this release:
- The profession addon has been updated, but not tested much.
- Guide resets across load screens needs to be better.
While the current guides are pretty good, we will be working constantly to improve and update these guides. Remember that if you notice a bug, you can help us by reporting it!

I couldn’t even get the gameI couldn’t even get the game to load with the add-on running. It wasn’t a guide, it was the add-on itself. Cat
Version: 2.6.1I had started to play the game before checking for an update, was still on 2.6.0 a and was going to level in krasarang wilds the guild froze the client. So much so I had to restart my computer. Maybe I won’t have to if I don’t play with it full screen, and will likely have to change to windowed to keep from doing a full computer restart. Before version 2.6.1 i noticed the Thunder dailies and sunreaver dailies would cause the same issue. I love this guild and have been using it for a long time now. Hope these issues get solved soon.
Update provided no fixes toUpdate provided no fixes to leveling guides. Accessing Jade Forest guide for instance still crashes the whole Wow Program.
2.6.1 Mixed reviewsLoaded up 2.6.1 and a few toons would not load with it until I disabled wow-pro. One loaded so did the DMF with no problems but after turning in the fish quest and getting the end of guide message I RClicked and brough up the guide list. Then I selected Kun-Li Summit lvling guide and the moment I clicked on the guide “LOCK UP”. Waited for 5mins just in case it was a super long load time but never loaded. I play windowed so had to alt-tab and crash wow. Went back in to that toon and went esc-interface-wow-pro->guide list nd selected from hyjal to jade forest. From Hyjal to Twilight highlands it just said “reseting guide due to upgrade” but when I clicked the jade forest guide in the list, “LOCK”. Had to alt tab and crash again. Went back to one fo the “non loading” toons (Guildmates said the toon loged into wow I just never got a screen otehr than the completed loading bar) and enabled JUST wow-pro core (none of the guide) and it loaded up fine. Using Addon manager then enabled the “world events” mondule and esc-interface-wow-pro->guide list selected DMF guide again. Then went to DMF, Auto accept did not seem to work but the guide advanced when I manualy accepted adn turned in quests. Once I finished the DMF on that toon went back and tried selecting other guide from the list. On the 3rd selection “LOCK”. It seems (At least for me) the new lock up is selecting guides (first time selection seems fine) that I have finished or change to. I hope this helps with the bug hunt.
same hereSimmilar behaviour here, trying to load Jade Forest for horde, complete game freeze. Works with Darkmoon.
tested… but did nottested… but did not work.Load char that gonna start new zone (and wher I have the troubles) First I though, all ok. But saw that it was still foour winds valley guide. a ‘go to’ step was reset to. Check off step and came at last step in that guide (gratz guide done…next guid will be loade afther checking this). Checked step and….. screen froze again. So still same prob I am afraid 🙁

Another guide lock upThe last 2 days I have also had an issue with teh Darkmoon Faire guide. I have had it on 4 different toons on 2 different servers. Some it locks up the moment I pick the DMF guide from the list in the guide listing and some it loads fine in one zone (2moons) then click the wow-pro button to minimize, go to DMF portal in then click the Wow-pro and LOCK. The strange thing is 1 toons run the guide fine the other day. Lock si so bad I have to reset the system using alt-F4. I would post an error but none is generated.
Wow client not respondingI noticed a few things so far with the new guide. The thunder king and sunreaver daily guilds lock up wow completely, so much so that I have to restart my computer. I also notice when I go to pick the different guides from the addon itself, not through interface, it no long goes straight to the list but to my wow interface. If i click on it to pick a guide again it will. Just some things I have noticed. I love this guide and hope I will be able to use the sunreaver guide and the thunder ones soon.
Addon causing WoW to freeze and crashAppears as though I’ve now got the same problem as the other posters and it was clicking to change the guide to Jade Forest that did it. I’ve never had a problem with the addon for 3 years, but this is a bug in extremis. Please sort, as it’s too good an addon to be annoying 😉
What Blizzard broke in 5.3Hey, I’m sorry I am not going to be able to reply to all the postings in detail, as there have been soo many and I had to concentrate on fixing the problems and then there was this pesky 4 day weekend I promised the spouse, so I had to go on WoW withdrawl.Anyways, many of the ACE libraries that we used required fixes for 5.3 and that was the source of some of the problems.There were some patches that we were applying that were no longer appropriate and needed to be removed.There are still some problems with the configuration windows opening from right clicking on the guides, but I have used the leveling guides on Pandaria and the Darkmoon Fair guide with no problems and EVERY daily guide in Pandaria without problems., so I have some hope this update will help.Please try it out when it comes out tomorrow.
Similar issue here exceptSimilar issue here except mine locks up right when WOW loads.I have isolated it to Wowpro guides. Let me know what you want me to post and I will try to help from my end.
I ahve same problemI have the same problem but seems only with the Thunder King dailies. The rest I ahve tried work fine though one toon I ahd to disable Wow-Pro totally to get him to load up. When i go into the guide list (In interface>wow-pro) and select (left click) under dailies Thunder King it happns on the other toons I have.
New GuideMines freezing whenever I load any new guide. Just started this morning for me.
I have the same problem. WasI have the same problem. Was at the end of the vally four winds guide. Flying to next point (free flight) to ken ken (next guide says comment. I right click the ‘congrat end guide’ step as finished. Heard the sound as confimation and guide step is checked (in gold) but then the screen freezes completly. Soud goes normal.I rebooted pc and got back in the game. I was arrived at place I have to be. Gratz step had to be checked off again. When I did that screen frezes again. It seems to be that next guide is not looded because this is indeed last step in the four wind guide.I don’t know if this is the case for all guides.
Any and all guides that I’veAny and all guides that I’ve tried from all of the different modules (Leveling, Achievements, Exploration, etc.)Choosing the particular guide itself causes the immediate lockup. All other steps before that are fine.
ConfirmedI’m having the same issue. Specifically selecting one of four particular guides causes total client lockup. The four are:Wandering IsleNorthern StranglethornJade ForestKrasarang WildsAll other leveling guides appear to load just fine. Those four consistently cause the client to lock up.
GuidesDifferent guides, differnt modules. Its locks up when you try to load them. There is a ticket out on github.
Choosing the guideDefinitely happened to me with Horde Jade Forest, also with another one of the MoP guides.Logged on a toon that was stuck in the Jade Forest guide since 5.2 and the game always just locked up when I logged into him (definitely worked just fine in 5.2). Had to diasble Wow-pro. Also, going back to a pre-5.3 version of wow-pro solved it.
type of guide?Is it all guides? all dailies guides? (or some other type) or only one particular guide that is doing this. I have not had this problem, except with the recorder module.What step causes the lock up? opening the interface (is that through right clicking on the guide header or through the Esc > Interface > addons menu? opening the guide list? choosing the guide?
Game-freeze Issue when selecting certain guidesAs Horde, when I try to select The Jade Forest the WoW client freezes. I can select The Twilight Highlands and Valley of the Four Winds without issue. This happens on two different computers (Mac OS X.8.3 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit).I was using the Jade Forest guide earlier in the morning (30 May 2012) but when I came back to it that night it wasn’t working on either of my computers. I updated to v2.6.0a and delete the WTF folder and still have the same issue. I also removed all other addons and still have this issue.Interestingly, I don’t have the same problem on the Alliance – that version of The Jade Forest guide loads without freezing WoW.
Same hereFor example, opening the Horde Jade Forest guide locks up my client.
Complete Lock Up When Changing To Different GuideTrying to activate a new guide through the interface panel causes a complete lock up of the entire game client. Other addons have been disabled and the cache folder deleted.
The Wandering Isle Quest ChainWhile making my 1st Pandaren (yea i kno i am a lil late on it lol) i noticed that when i tried to load the addon for the quest chain the wandering isle it would freese and not load at all and i would have to crash the game and restart. It got so bad that inorder for me to even play my pandaren i had to disable the addon completely and finish the quests on my own. But doing that I didnt know which way to go next so i chose the Durotar quest chain even tho i know most are to low level for me now. Please help
Bug?I have no idea why but for me the newest release causes WoW to freeze when i right click step 293 of the Four Winds guide. When it was first released i was locking up anytime I interacted with the addon. I even renamed my WTF and disable all other addons and used the guide with an without tomtom and it was locking up. Any ideas? I can use the version 2.5 without issue, at least so far as encountered..
Pet Battle GuidesI ran thru them again with the newest version (2.6.0a), and it is still skipping the R steps and then coming back to it after you Accept the quest following the R step. Could you try one and see if you can figure out what is causing it? I put new versions up yesterday if you want to see the latest and greatest.To advance the N steps at the beginning of the guide you have to click them 3 times, (on, off, on, then it moves to the next one)Also, when you click in the title bar of the guide window it no longer opens the configureation pane to wow pro, but instead opens to the blizzard addons page, so you have to go to the annoying effort of clicking a whole extra 3 times… (addons, wow-pro and display). It shows you the menu and then you pick display settings, and it doesnt go there always (yes, it does sometimes, I haven’t figured out why sometimes it works, no repeatable pattern)
Catastrophic ErrorI want to first thank you for all of your hard work. I’m using version 2.6.0a and it causes the game to crash every time I try the following zones: The Jade Forest, Krasarang Wilds, Kun Lia Summit, Townlong Steppes, and Dread Wastes. All of MOP except for Valley of the Four Winds causes WOW to freeze and requires a re-start. I have two other friends using this add on and they are also experiencing the same results. Works fine on contact prior to MOP. Not sure what happened, this quide worked great with MOP content prior to 5.3.
5.3I just downloaded this to work in 5.3. It just makes wow hang and not finish loading. Sometimes when I log in the character doesn’t even load. I have mac os10.6.8
