loot the clawsI am working on, I have a step telling you to kill the Sha of Anger,
then loot the claws and accept the quest from the item. This step is
showing even tho I havent yet killed the sha and therefore do not have
the item to start the quest. This A step is nearly at the end of the
guide and it seeemed odd that it is showing when others above it don’t. <a href=’http://www.ifgames.net/’ title=’Free Online Games’>Flash Games</a>
Re: ooo sounds funI now have it set up so it logs debug messsages and event traces without polluting the chat window. It runs fast and it even looks kinda ok.About to implement the new target macro right now, and I think it will be ready wednesday.Been beating it up and found a few buggies here and there!
ooo sounds fun/e jumps up and down… its like waiting for christmas 🙂
Prep work for next updateI’ve checked in all the code changes now for the next update.I’ve been playing them and seeing if I see any problems.I’ve added a few new interesting features:The “Current Guide” window now puts quests in red that you are not eligible for because of level. The current quest automatically selects the quest in the quest log as “active” so the nice blue spots show up in the minimap.Jiyambi’s suggestion. Works very nicely.Debug trace captures. Now Emmaleah can report bugs to me in excruciating detail. Need to get a nicer looking window and check for any performance issues.A “Do this quest in this zone” feature. Can be used to cherry pick questlines in zones to get special loots. Uses Grail to get the quest chain information. Oh, and I have been playing Horde lately, so I have guide updates as I go through zones.
You’re the best :DYou’re the best 😀
Re: Bug with guide skipping A steps in dailiesIt depends on what the QID was that you used for the killing and looting of the Sha of Anger. K and L steps are most often used within a quest. if you tried to use them with the QID of the quest to follow, they would not show and the A step would.I did not make the change for A steps to be skipped if you did not have the U item in your inventory. Or if I did, I never checked it in and lost it.
Bug with guide skipping A steps in dailiesI’ve been thinking about this one lately. I think it cropped up around the same time we were talking about how I wished the O tag would make A steps ( for quests that start from items)not show unless you had the associated item (based on the U tag) in your inventory. You said (IIRC) that was behavior you could (would/had?) put in the default code. (somewhat related aside: this is the reason for my status update wishing we had a search tool, I cant find that thread). Anyway, in the Shado-Pan guide I am working on, I have a step telling you to kill the Sha of Anger, then loot the claws and accept the quest from the item. This step is showing even tho I havent yet killed the sha and therefore do not have the item to start the quest. This A step is nearly at the end of the guide and it seeemed odd that it is showing when others above it don’t.I was wondering, if you did put that change in, is it possible it was somehow incorrect and it isnt showing A steps that don’t have U tags. I know it doesnt really make sense, but it seems like most (All?) A steps that come after a C step – which has been completed are skipped. A steps at the beginning of the guide (i.e. before any C steps ). I know that there is another condition besides just being after a C step, but I haven’t yet narrowed it down.
RE: Ludo, I’ve been using the… I’ll take a look at the APIs for the interaction of the QuestLog and the maps and see if somethging pops out!
Ludo, I’ve been using theLudo, I’ve been using the addon lately and I’ve had an idea for a feature that I think would make our addon even better. Is there a way in the API to select which quest is selected on the map? When a quest is selected, a big area is highlighted on the minimap where that objective can be found. This could be useful for quests where you have to kill things in a certain area, or collect items in said area, etc. If our addon could set that quest as selected, so WoW displays the shaded area, that would be really cool!I don’t know anything about the APIs involved, I’d have to take a look at it later, but I wanted to share the idea and see if something like this sounds useful to anyone else.
OMGI remember the dreaded Crashing Turtles…..LOLI had kind of forgotten them since my horror at having 6 toons Exalted with the Tillers and having to kill Virmin before plowing and while planting crops…..*shudder*Some days, I long for beta crashing…..LOLJames
This is not a behavior I haveThis is not a behavior I have ever seen.*(well not since the crashing turtles in VotFWinds)* Please describe in more detail, error messages, etc. Is it all characters? Is it all zones? And of course does it happen with only WoWpro/TomTom enabled? Does it quit when you disable them?
Wow crashes when logging off of toon I just quested on.Whenever I do questing on a toon and then log out, the WoW game crashes. If I log into a toon and do something other than questing (professions etc), I am able to log out to the character screen.I know that it is this addon because this is the only addon I use for questing, and it is the only addon that I have added recently. Please let me know you want me to post the error log that is sent to Blizzard or something else. On a side note, I really love the addon and wish I started using it a long time ago. I am working on my 5th level 90 toon and this would have made the other 4 much easier.
