Re: I’m putting this comment hereOk, I got on one of the toons I’m having this problem with, the guide was already loaded. I turned on debugging. I clicked on several steps that had been clicked on to skip (pvp daily blackriver brawl, the READ THIS after those steps, Seeking Solvent, etc.). Logged out and back in, they were unclicked again. How do I get to the debug log? Then, do I put it here? How do you want me to get it to you?
Re: I’m putting this comment hereDo me a favor:Load your favotite guide that has forgotten skipped steps.Turn on addon debuggingClear the logTry to left click the steps that are being troublesomeSend me the debug log. While I have a good guess at the two problems you are seeing (forgetting manually skipped quests and left click not working), I need a debug log to make sure they are the problems you are having!
I’m putting this comment hereI’m putting this comment here because I’m in this guide currently. However, this is happening a lot to the guides I’ve been using, Howling Fjord, Borean Tundra, Dragonblight, and now Grizzly Hills. The guides are not remembering skipped steps. Not just when I log out and back on, but just now when doing Out of Body Experience fo Blind Ruuna, when I went into the vision and back all the steps I had previously skipped needed to be skipped again. Basically everything that deals with pvp content. I personally don’t like pvp and avoid it at all costs. Which is neither here nor there, but it is getting tedious to have to reclick the steps over and over. The guides are also not allowing me to left click to skip the step, the only thing they will accept is right click manually checking the step off. Both of these have been happening in each of the guides I mentioned earlier. A third problem I’m noticing lately (lately being as of Warlords of Draenor release) is even some steps that I’m completing isn’t being recorded as completed. Such as, Vordrassil’s Tears note where the orb icon is, however, the step The Darkness Beneath is correctly indicating that the step was completed with it’s “1/1 Orb used beneath Vordrassil’s Tears. (C)”. I’m having to manually click those off as well. I’m sorry, I can’t give you specific steps in the previous guides as they were really few that I skipped so it didn’t happen often. Grizzly Hills, on the other hand has a lot of pvp content so I’ve been skipping all of that. I can’t say that any of the pvp steps have been able to keep the flag to skip it when i log off and back on or, as in the case with Ruuna’s quest, switch scenes and back. Again, after all is said and done, I’d like to thank you for wonderful guides. They do make life a lot easier.
Incorrect Map Coordinates – fixedIt appears that step of the addon was directing you to a flightpath from where you should have just finished questing in dragonblight… alas, the |Z| tag was missing so it was using grizzly hills (since that is the default for this guide). Added Z tag so all should be good.
Incorrect Map coordinatesI am using Version 2.6.0. The first step of Grizzly Hills is “Fly to Conquest Hold” but the map coordinates send you to a destination in Zul’Drak about 2013 yards away from Conquest Hold.
Dragonblight was due to aDragonblight was due to a level of Demon Soul having the same name, and a fix for that will be in the next release. I suppose that means it has been in since DS was released a few months back. I don’t know if the problem in Grizzly Hills is similar(since I can’t think of any other area called grizzly hills atm)as to point 2 above? do you have any other addons affecting quest log? do you have auto quest tracking turned on or off? Does this happen in other zones? Do you have a character of the other faction to see if it happens there?
This guide is broken in versino 2.3.4 (Oct 1, 2012)I haven’t used the WotLK guides since WotLK was current, so I don’t know how far back this error goes. However, the issues are: 1) coordinates are incorrect – step 1 sends me to Conquest Hold – but the waypoint is in Zul-Drak.2) The quests don’t update as I get them. This appears to be because the quest list for GH in my quest log keeps getting shortened (as if the add-on was pushing the – button next to “Grizzly Hills”. If I click the + it updates, but I have to do that after every mob kill. I had the same issue in DragonBlight with the Dragonblight guide – with no waypoints showing up at all.
Use tag O optinal with looted quest itemsA Mikhail’s Journal|QID|12423|U|37830|This is a quest from a looted item and so should be optional:A Mikhail’s Journal|QID|12423|O|U|37830|and a few lines lower also has to be chanced to: T Mikhail’s Journal|QID|12423|O|M|20.8,64.2|
tested okI have done the chances like proposed in my own guide file (local) and tested it. Now it works like expected. PVP quest-circuits are only showed when rank 3 is chosen and skipped by 1 or 2. I have chanced all O tags in this guide by rank 3 tags (they were also used for the group quests. Plz, let me know if i made do same chances in source here.
PvP quests.circuitIn this zone I encounter a circuit of PVP quests. There is a note first to tell the player these can be skipped if player don’t want to do pvp quests. I read the note and click on it (right) and then I was asked to hearthstone to the place I already am. So I was confused. When I checked the guide, I saw there were a few steps skipped so I was curious and came to here to check the syntax and saw that the tag O (optional) was used for those (pvp) steps. That seems logical but in this way the player does not have a choice. O steps are only showed if a item is present in bags (for those quest where you have to loot a item first and then can accept the quest related to that item. Those have to be optional because they can only be accepted when item is looted. But with these pvp quest circuit, it is not the case because there is no item (or something like that) evolved to make choice if steps has to be showed or not.So I propose to use the |RANK|3| step here. That way the player can choose to do those steps or not. The note can then be chanched in a warning that setting 3 for rank is needed if the player wants to do the folowing pvp circuit. What do you guys think? If agreed, I offer to chance the code and test it right now because I am at this point now in the guide so I can test it directly.
