Let me reiterate that – we are NOT deleting any guides. They are simply being moved out of finished mode so they are not visible to other users, but they can be updated and resubmitted if their author’s so chose.
We may also copy and paste this work to a wiki page, which can be updated by everyone. Your work on WoW-Pro does belong to you and if you would like us to NOT do this, you do have that right – simply let us know in a comment if your guide is moved to Work in Progress mode. If you do allow us to move the guide into a wiki format, you will be noted as the original author.
Additionally, all guide authors should start now getting their guides updates and ready for Cataclysm. Even if you are not in the Beta, you can easily update most guides using information from WoWHead or one of the many other Beta information sites.
If your guide is not up to date with the new expansion by a week after Cataclysm is released, it may be moved to Work in Progress mode at the choice of the site administrators.
Why are we implementing this policy?
It’s our goal as a site to provide useful, high quality guides. If we have some guides that are low quality or out of date to the point of not being useful, the image of the entire site goes down.
Any guide we move to Work in Progress mode will be left with a comment explaining why it was moved. If you feel it was moved unjustly, you are welcome to reply to the comment and I will respond within 24 hours. Additionally, if you address the issues with your guide, feel free to re-submit it in Finished mode and I’ll have another look!
Thank you for your contributions to the site, everyone, and please leave any questions or concerns you have as comments!
yaay!Yay, wiki!
Boo, copyright whores!
NAh. I understand that many people thinks in the ways of copyright,,
Anyways.
My good ol’ guide about addons etc (UI Interface Guide)… Which i promised to update quite a few times… *shame on me*
That could easily become a wiki. Actually i would like it to be so.
It would be “wider”, with more information, and more up to date when everyone can contribute!

I really like this idea. AnyI really like this idea. Any good quality, older guide that doesn’t really need to be updated, since the idea itself is a little out of date, can be moved there. Your Quel Danas guides are a perfect example ๐
I’ll probably work on this a lot this weekend.
That’s a good idea Wkjezz,That’s a good idea Wkjezz, thanks ๐
Hopefully over the next 2 or 3 days we’ll have the final system organised at least so that it will all be ready to be implemented and everyone can see exactly what the plan is and what will be aimed for for Cataclysm.

An Idea about thisMaybe you guys could add an archive section for guides. Old, Good quality guides moved to an Archive heading so people can read up and look back at the work of the best guides of the past (such as Quel Danas dailys, not that im biased. cough) Just a thought ๐ great move though, keeping the site fresh and current.
Addition: I added a noteAddition: I added a note about the possibility of moving guides into a wiki format so they can be updated by everyone. Please note that you can opt out of this. We recognize that the copyright of their work is very important to authors, and we will respect any requests not to move or modify your work. However many authors no longer play the game or visit this site, leaving once high quality guides to fall out of date. In the spirit of the site, as by gamers for gamers, for free, we believe that MOST authors will support the idea of abandoned or out of date guides being moved to wiki pages. If it seems this is not the case, the policy will be adjusted.
Please leave some feedback so we can see how this will be received. Thanks!
