Jame’s Horde Leveling Guide – Addon Version

Arathi Highlands 34-35 – Crystal in the MountainsOk, this really confused me.
While gathering quests in Hammerfell, you are given a command to get the quest “Crystal in the Mountains”. Needless to say I spent a while running around Hammerfell trying to find the quest.
It turns out that the quest is started by http://www.wowhead.com/?item=4614#dropped-by that may or may not drop when you are doing the quest AFTER the step that tells you to start Crystal in the Mountains.
So the order in steps has to be rearranged, and it would help if the fact that the quest is started by a dropped pendant was explained =)

Stranglethorn Vale 33-34 – Booty Bay flight pathIn the STV 33-34 guide, there is no command to get the Booty Bay flight path while you are there.

Stranglethorn Vale – 34-34 – Panther Mastery Part 1The “Kill the Young Panthers” step of this quest does not involve a location for the panthers. Had to use mobmap.

That’s quite possible, I’llThat’s quite possible, I’ll try adding a (Part 1) to it even though there is only one part, to see if that fixes it. This portion of the addon needs a major revamp anyway.

As well as the guide addonAs well as the guide addon itself, you also need to have the addons TomTom, Lightheaded, and Tourguide installed. Chances are you are missing one of these or a part of them, I know Lightheaded has several parts that all need to be installed for it to work correctly. Check the links at the top and download them if you’re missing any.

Thousand Needles 32-33 – Wharfmaster DizzywigAlmost missed getting this quest as the Addon already the step for getting it ticked. Might be a conflict with the barrens quest of the same name?

Tourguide addonDo you have the newest version of Tourguide AND the WoW-pro addon? You need both in order to use it. I think the newest Tour Guide might be “Out of Date”, but it still works if you click the “Load out of date addons” button.

Ashenvale 30-31 – Never Again!In the quest Never Again!, you may want to note that Diathorus the Seeker can also be found at 78.68, 82.53. Took me a while to find him because I was sitting in one place.
Other than the points i’ve bought up, I would say that the 21-31 guide is working perfectly. I say say that, but I only started following it at level 25 =P

Hillsbrad Foothills 31-32 – To Steal From ThievesNothing really wrong, but when I tried to take the quest it had a “This quest is not in your current guide” notice.
That’s “To Steal From Thieves” by the way.

Tomtom glitch?I downloaded it yesterday so it should be the most recent. XD
By the way, Tomtom showed the same location for Thunder Bluff, but started working normally again when I was told to talk to Magatha Grimtotem. Weird.
And yes, I am playing throught the guide while I write this =)

Make sure you have the mostMake sure you have the most recent version of the guide downloaded. If you did, and the problem was in the most recent guide, please let us know. I just went through and tried to correct all the errors similar to this one, but it’s possible I missed this one.

Thousand Needles 29-30 – Camp MojacheFound another problem, when fulfilling the “Run to Camp Mojache” command, Tomtom shows the camp to be somewhere between Dustwallow March and Thousand Needles. Not sure if this is a problem with the actualy WoW-pro addon though, because the coordinates in the notes are correct.

Snowflake’s GhostlandsSnowflake’s Ghostlands guides works 100% – just ran through it on my orc shaman, asides from one or 2 spelling errors its perfect! Can add that to completed 🙂

Might just be an error whenMight just be an error when writing the addon version then when basing it from the guide, no need for the pulling of it – just needs reworking and correcting if this is the case.

A Dip in the Moonwell – Thousand Needles 29-30Hey Jame, firstly I want you to know that i’m really enjoying the leveling addon.
But i’ve found a problem with the quest A Dip in the Moonwell in the Thousand Needles 29-30 guide.
The coordinates for the Robotron Control unit are incorrect, and I can see that causing trouble for players who haven’t done the quest before (Luckily I have ^_^)

Please save other’s thePlease save other’s the trouble and pull silverknight’s guide from the horde package. He has you running all over the place and numerous checkpoints are out of order or mismarked.

When I recently did this onWhen I recently did this on my shammy, I just took off my weapons and hit the mobs with my fists, then I equipped my weps again and killed them, or just used a shock.

But yes, you do have to hit -> spray -> kill in order to make it work.

Were using the most recent update that just came out, or the one that was out a little before that? I think most of these issues were revised when I went through that section, but that update only came out last week.

Howling Fjord thingiesSome things I found running through the Howling Fjord addon:

Adding Injury to Insults is listed in the guide, but when you click the quest-giver it says “this quest is not included in the guide”.

Keeping Watch on the Interlopers and The March of the Giants become available after turning in Making the Horn. So I suggest turning that one in first, and then taking those quests.

The Book of Runes has the coördinates (48,24), which is near the spear tower, whilst Giant’s run is far more to the east. Unfortanately, I don’t know the coords of that though.

The Sleeping Giant: took me a moment to realise that you have to go inside Gjalerbron to wake up those giants. It doesn’t mention that in the addon, or I have missed something ^^

Field Test: attack the Vrykal first and THEN spray. If you only spray it, nothing happens.

Thank you!It works! There where two Howling Fjord guides in there, one from wow-pro and one other. I took the botttom one, which didn’t work. I did that with the other guides too, so I hope Jame has used the same quests as in the non-pro guides, otherwise I have to start over again with my Loremaster guide. So silly ^^

I know this happens for theI know this happens for the built in guide, check and make sure you are using the correct one (ours says “WoW-Pro” in the title) – a screenshot can help clear this up if needed.

I have used the Howling Fjord guide from our site multiple times and never had a problem. That doesn’t mean its impossible, but I know in the past people have realized they were actually using the wrong guide for this.

It’s kind of buggy, youIt’s kind of buggy, you can’t reset a guide when you have it enabled. First select some other guide, doesn’t matter wich, and try again 🙂

Strange, shift clickingStrange, shift clicking usually works. Try deleting your cache and WTF folders if you can. This will reset all your addons though. So you might want to copy them first, so you have a backup if you want to revert your addons back.

Howling Fjord?I am leveling my Deathknight for the Loremaster achievement purposes, but when I clicked the addon for Howling Fjord, it didn’t react. It said I was 100% complete, while I didn’t even went to Northrend. I shift-clicked it, but when I clicked it again, it still said it was 100% complete. Anyone else having problems with it?

Fate and CoincidenceFate and Coincidence (Grizzly Hills, Horde): There are three markers for Sasha. TomTom went for the one on the east island first, of course.

Just a nitpickHorde Grizzly Hills guide. In Venture Bay, when you pick up the new quests the first time, it bounces you back and forth between the 4 NPCs, instead of grabbing the two, then the other two. Not a huge deal, but might throw people off who don’t look ahead.

I’m going to change theI’m going to change the talent suggestions in the original guide as soon as I have time. Hopefully, it will be changed in the addon soon as well. I suggest to the creator to remove that tip from the addon until my guide have been updated.

Bug with Manovan’s 1-12 Undead GuideI noticed that the quest “A Rogue’s Deal” is not properly coded, the second part of the quest, where you run back to fight Montague, is marked as complete when you complete part one of the quest in Brill. Both quests have the same name in the guide, so maybe one needs to be named part two?

theres a bug with the samophlange quest
after i’ve clicked the valves and the nthe console for the followup, it automatically ticked off the next part of the quest, so i didnt think about it..

basicly it means i gotta run back up after trying to hand it in in ratchet, coz i wasnt told to loot the key ect.

(it is in the guide, but it ticks them off as completed automatically, even though i didnt do them)

Um, so my guild freakingUm, so my guild freaking rocks. It was my birthday this weekend. Right after posting this, I logged in and they gave me 5000 gold for my epic flight form! I love those guys!

a long list of stuff7 Apr 2009 version

a lot of weirdness that was fine the in previous versions. 3.1 happened in middle of doing this stuff, but i’ve been redoing the lower level guides on other characters. I’m not sure if it’s something that got messed up in the guide or if its something that got changed w/ tomtom/tourguide, but a lot of the pointers in the lower level sections that were fine when i played through using previous versions seem to be way, way off now.

Stonetalon 21-22
While standing around in Orgrimmar checking off things till it caught up to the character, I noticed pointers were very off starting with the Tirisfal Glades run to checkpoint, which points to a location in Stonetalon Mountains (65.9, 0.00). This might be a result of me being in Orgrimmar, instead of somewhere else.

Durotar is marked as being in middle of Stonetalon Mountains, (60.70, 58.80)

So is the Orgrimmar flight point pickup, (45.30, 63,90)

The Barrens run to point is again in middle of Stonetalon (34.20, 42.20)

The Crossroads pointer is in middle of Stonetalon (52.00, 30.60)

Hell, everything up through the Ratchet flight point pickup is marked as being in Stonetalon.

Things finally get back on track with Ziz Fizziks pickup.

Gets a little off when it tells you to run to Stonetalon Mountains

Pointer to run back to The Barrens after doing Boulderslide quest is off, set to middle of Stonetalon. From here to flying to Ratchet checkpoint, all pointers are off in the middle of Stonetalon region.

Fly to Sun Rock Retreat checkpoint is pointing off to the middle of northern Stonetalon.

Hillsbrad 22-24

Splintertree is marked as being in the middle of Eastern Kingdoms, Hilsbrad (45.20, 59.80)

Zoram’Gar outpost is marked as being in Hilsbrad. This is while I’m standing in Splintertree.

Kill Nagas for Wrathtail Heads, again pointing to Hilsbrad

Pointer to Org bank is in middle of Hilsbrad. Interesting trend here.

Run to Durotar pointer is in middle of the ocean by Hilsbrad

Tirisfal Glades pointer is in middle of Alterac Mountains

Same for Allegiance to the Horde pointer.

Undercity flight point, Tirisfal Glades, Silverpine Forest, Sepulcher, ditto.

Sepulcher quest pickups are fine.

Kill Ravenclaw Drudgers is not, pointer in middle of ocean by Hilsbrad.

Hillsbrad Foothills pointer is way at the bottom right of Hillsbrad, closer to Arathi Highlands

Ashenvale 24-25

minor linearity issue when picking up Ashenvale Runners, Warsong Supplies quests, order should be other way around so you don’t need to backtrack a bit if following the guide.

The Barrens 25-26

Sell, restock pointer off in the middle of Dustwallow Marsh

Pointer to Crossroads is down by Camp Taurajo at the beginning of the section.

Pointers to loot the Warsong Axe shipment in Booty Bay, Booty Bay flight point is off in the southern end of Mulgore

That looks like the TourThat looks like the Tour Guide lua file, it’s definitely not the WoW-Pro one. Our guide files all have the guide’s author in the name (“Jame” for most). Check and make sure that on your add-on selection screen, our addon is enabled and that you have “Load out of date addons” checked.

About time.After having suggested this once, and no doubt many others have done the same I was told it would kill advertising revenue.

Well, apparently not so much because here it is. I dont see any reason why you couldnt include a shopping list other than to keep website hits up, but hey. Thats totally fine with me, just glad I didnt have to go through the BS of making this addon myself.

70-80hey,could some 1 help me with the lvl guide for the horde 70-80?because when i download it i only get the guides 70-71 and 70-72 but before the update i had them all..it looks like the file’s are missing when you download the addon.

[*]The quest [b]”Prevent the Accord”[/b] says to “take the slope going left” but the note forgets to mention that you have to go inside the arch first.

[*]The questgiver for [b]”Wanted: The Scarlet Onslaught”[/b] needs coordinates as it is a wanted poster. Lightheaded doesn’t give coordinates for wanted posters. 🙁

Anyway, those are all of the bugs I have found so far. I am still far from completing the guide but I think I’ll be fast at it as I just dinged 77 and have my swift flight form! Yaaaay! 😀
