- WoW-Pro Leveling Addon – The base of the addon. Updated for patch 3.3
- TomTom – Handles coordinates (It’s that arrow which points you to where you need to go). If you have Cartographer, you don’t need this, since Cartographer has it’s own arrow.
- Lightheaded – Makes TomTom even better, make sure to install this addon or you won’t always get a TomTom arrow to show you the way.
- WARNING: If you have QuestHelper installed, you should disable it, or at least disable the TomTom arrow option in Questhelper, or it will conflict with our addon and give you wrong directions. If you are not familiar with the installation of addons, it can be done as follows:
- Download and unzip the addon files.
- Navigate to the World of Warcraft directory
- Windows XP: C:\Program FilesWorld of Warcraft
- Windows Vista: C:\UsersPublicGamesWorld of Warcraft
- Open the “Interface” folder, then the “Addons” folder inside it.
- Copy and paste the “WoW-Pro”, “TomTom” and “Lightheaded” folders into the World of Warcraft/Interface/Addons directory.
You can check in-game if you’ve installed it correctly; when you go to the character selection screen, on the bottom left corner of the screen is a button called “Addons”. Click that, then scroll down and look for Lightheaded, TomTom and WoW-Pro (it’s in alphabetical order). Make sure they’re enabled.
It should look like this:
Once in game, you should see the TourGuide bar und

If this is a new character you just created, the correct guide should already be selected automatically.
If this is not a new character, click the TourGuide bar, a window will pop-up with a list of guides sorted by zones and level ranges:
Pick a guide close to your level and in a zone where you haven’t done all the quests.
There you go, just follow the addon!
For more information on how to use the addon, please visit the WoW-Pro Leveling Addon General Info Page.
If you want to help contributing by working on a section, please check the following links:
Even though it’s an in-game leveling addon, there are still a few things you need to know, and you’ll find them in each section of the guide below. They will contain information such as shopping lists, general information about the zone and other things which can’t be included in the addon for practical reasons. The addon will tell you to alt-tab back to the guide page whenever necessary, this will happen very rarely though, don’t worry, 99% of the guide is taken care of by the addon in-game!
This quest is not listedHey guys just thought I would point out that when picking up the quest Vanquish the Betrayers in the Durotar guide it says that This quest is not listed in your current guide. Just thought I would point that out. ๐
All you have to do isAll you have to do is disable the wow-pro addons and the default tourguide guides will appear again.
Woah…These are great changes, I say!
It seems that I will level an orc / troll in order to test those 2 guides ๐
Just one question: Tekubb’s guides are removed or can I find them somewhere in the game? ๐

This is what I’ve been waiting for!I’ve looked at your guide, and I’ve always thought it was the BEST thing ever! Then I realized that there powerleveling services had addons that guided you in the game, and I thought that was awesome, but I never managed to afford to buy one of those. When I just went onto your website and saw the new addon, I went ballistic. Got it immediately. And it works amazingly! I wish I had used it before going to Grizzly Hills, but I managed to keep with it and I expect many high level characters.
I can’t wait til other Northrend zones are released. Please don’t stop!
tourguide & zygorall you have to do is load up both guides, scroll back a few quests in zygor’s guide, and sync up manually. should take about 5 minutes to tick about 30-50 boxes.
e,g, move the tourguide window to the right hand side, zygor on the left. expand both windows, and scroll back a few quests in zygor’s. as you see a title, tick it off in the expanded tourguide window. the progress/completed order won’t always be the same as zygor’s guides, but it will be similar enough.
to save a bit more time, if you have your lightheaded/quest window open, you can also find the list of quests in the quest chain, which has names you can tick off in the tourguide window.
Someone forgot to put inSomeone forgot to put in their zonetag! :p
I just want to add to whatI just want to add to what Jame and Jiyambi said.
First off, this is VERY rude! Before you start criticising what these fine folks are doing for You and the entire WoW-Pro Community, consider how much time they have spent working on this, time they could have been spending doing fun things.
Also before criticising, make sure you know what the hell you’re doing with the addon! You probably don’t know how to choose a guide, from what you said, and don’t really have a problem with it. Besides, out of everyone that’s tested the addon, maybe 10 people have had problems with it.
It sounds like you we’re able to open the addon, you just don’t know how to select a guide! Re-read the main info page and I would bet you find out what you’re doing wrong with the addon.
Overall, I don’t want to start yelling again.. the last time I did that I got into some trouble, I just want to keep you on the straight and narrow.
Shinke ๐
Unfortunately that’s my bad,Unfortunately that’s my bad, it’s because I missed the (Part 1) on the quest title. I fixed the other class quests but missed that first one. Please download the newest file here, it will be included in the next update. Sorry about that, I’ve tested on my shaman and it seems to be working correctly now.
I agree with Jame, the mostI agree with Jame, the most important thing to remember is that this is a beta. You likely didn’t have this much trouble in the past because you were using finished guides, not betas. And as Jame said, for the most part I have had zero issues other than ones easily identifiable as I code.
Hah, apparently I missedHah, apparently I missed this update because the revisions were mostly by me, hence my issues with Hosho’s guide. I fail.
Well you do come off asWell you do come off as harsh, borderline rude and mostly very impatient.
The addon is still a work in progress, it’s a beta, problems will occur. What we need is people willing to help us figure out problems so we can troubleshoot them.
What we do NOT need:
-someone to come and tell us “get someone with a clue about addons” (implying that we have no clue) or to dump it altogether
The fact is, I’ve never had any troubles to get the addon to work myself, and I did it on 3 different systems, even on one running Windows 7. And obviously hundreds of other users also had no problems.
What you can do:
-Wait until I upload the next version of the addon (which should be tomorrow), some big changes will be included. All the default guides will be removed from the list and the wow-pro guides will be loaded dynamically every time you log on a character. This should fix your issue, in theory.
In the Orc/Troll startingIn the Orc/Troll starting area, it says to do the first quest in the totem quest line (by the way, I think it’s brilliant that it changes depending on your class!). However, it does not tell you to pick up and complete the next quest which would mean missing out on the earth totem.
for the level 44 badlandsfor the level 44 badlands section, it seems to describe the third part of the Study of the Elements quest, but behaves correctly when you do the second part; the coordinate pointer also points to where you need to go to do the third part of the chain. I’ve been following this section beginning from the level 31 part, and it never mentions completing part 2 before this point. Then, you need to do the third part to continue with the guide.
Tour Guide also tells me that Stone is Better than Cloth isn’t in the guide, though the guide is saying to take it.
Beachfront PropertyThe waypoint for Surveyor Hansen is placed at (79,65) in Howling Fjord, and should be (79,65) in Dragonblight.
Coordinate Error in HF guideWasn’t sure where to post this, but for the quest Against Nifflevar, the turn in is stated as in Grizzly Hills, where it should be (67,61) in Howling Fjord.
Can’t load Howling FjordI’ve been following the online version of the guide and am part way through the zone. I have downloaded and added Tomtom, Lightheaded, Tourguide and the guides. However, when I try to add the Howling Fjord guide, which appears in the Tourguide menue, it just clicks it to 100% complete. It doesn’t seem to allow me to select it to load it. It seems to allow me to select Borean Tundra, although I didn’t want to load it as I haven’t gone to that zone yet.
Anyone have any ideas what is going on?
Thanks for all the work on the guides. I have found them very useful over the years!
*Fixed .xml for Hosho’s Barrens 12-20. Thats great!!
Think next round we could actually get the guide as well? I was getting “no guide loaded”, even though I clicked the guide.
Edit:I logged off to come here, and when I returned the guide itself is completely gone, yet when I log onto another toon, same server, it’s there?!?
This addon is garbage, good in theory, but more trouble than it’s worth.
And please, no ignorant comments like, “did you make sure to enable the addon?” I am fully aware on how to add addons. NEVER have I had so much trouble with an addon. I have followed every instruction, dotted my i’s, crossed my t’s, delete the addons, reload the addons, still have problems.
Sorry Jame, I love this site and I love what you have done for the WoW community, but either get someone on this that knows what they are doing or just dump it altogether. At least with the paper guides your getting EVERYTHING, not bits and pieces, or guide titles with no guides, not to mention that with the paper versions, your getting guides that meet your high standards.
If I’m coming off as harsh I apologize. That’s not my intention. Just very frustrated. Everything I have tried on this site has worked great….except this.
That’s because you have anThat’s because you have an old version of TourGuide. Download the latest version ๐
ErrorFirst off, I want to say Hello, I’ve been using the site and the guides for awhile now, I’m just now joining the community though and I’m using Jame’s add on, in particular the Hellfire peninsula(60-63). I’m getting a message from it that says,
Cannot find zone “[WoW-Pro | Jame’s] Hellfire Peninsula”, using current zone
It seems to happen when I turn quests in.
I just wanted to give a heads up on it. Thanks for all the hard work everyone has done as far as the addons and the guides in general.
Intermission
Heh, sorry. Jahwo will beHeh, sorry. Jahwo will be updating the in-progress page to make it easier to know who is working on what. However, it’s perfectly fine to have multiple testers – though it’s probably best if we test in series (one after another) rather than in parallel (at the same time).
I personally have no plans to look at the BE guide, at least not for quite some time. So have fun!
OkayOkay, Well I see my job of following the orc guide was finished already, so I will do the Blood Elf now, as I am particularly expert in them, especially starting them (haha) so no one steal BE, Ill also get the other starter guides as well.

Amazing ProgressJust wanted to mention that everyone working on this has made an amazing amount of progress since the last time I dropped in and realized I didn’t have a program to extract RAR files. Setup is very easy now.
Gratz!
The addon will automaticallyThe addon will automatically track which quest you already have in your quest log, and will skip them if you already have completed them.
However, the other steps still need to be checked manually.
That’s because you were NOTThat’s because you were NOT following our guides. You were following the default guides that come with the TourGuide addon, and those have nothing to do with wow-pro.
To use the WOW-PRO guides, you have to scroll down the list. And you’ll find the [WoW-Pro | xxxx] Guides at the bottom of the list.
Note: There’s no scroll bar, you have to use your MOUSE ROLL to scroll down.
Addon different than the guides.I have noticed the same thing about the addon version being a lot different than the guides Jame did. I see that a lot of quests have been removed from the guides. I don’t know if this was done because TourGuide can not handle a bigger guide or not. I do notice that the order of the addon version is a lot different also.
Still love the addon though.
Thanks Guys for all the hard work.

Addon helpHi
I have been using your online guide for some time, and have just switched over to the addon, and was wondering if there was a way for it to ‘guess’ which part of the guide I had gotten to, by the quests I have in my log currently?
For instance my 64 DK is some way into Nagrand, but when I load the addon it tries to start from the very beginning of Nagrand.
Is there a way to do this, or is it just not possible with an addon?
Thanks
btw your guides are brilliant.
Oh, very niceI just started using TourGuide a few weeks ago when I rerolled to a new server. I loved it except for a few things that really irked me. The default guides included didn’t really seem optimized like I was used to from your guides. They had me accepting quests in odd order and running out to do quests that were still orange to me while I had green ones in my log as yet unfinished. They also didn’t have too much continuity between zones. The Barrens guide pretty much stuck to the Barrens without you ever setting foot in Stonetalon. Things like that.
I’m so happy to see you’ve taken your out-game guides and made them in-game.
Missing SectiongsVery dumb of me spent a while trying 2 find out while my guide was missing a few sections then i read “As you can see, there are still a few sections which need to be converted to TourGuide style though.” just thought id post so no1 eles skips threw that and gets lost :S
Grizzly HillsI’m mid-way through the Grizzly Hills guide and noticed a little error. I’m on the quest “Attack on Silverbrook” and tomtom (and the co-ordinates given) point me in to Zul’Drak. The path into Silverbrook is at 26,36.
If tomtom is giving youIf tomtom is giving you trouble, you may want to try Cartographer. Yes, it’s a much bigger addon but it has nice features in and of itself, and I have never had problems with it or it’s arrow breaking. Just something else you may want to try ๐
No WoW-ProWhen I initially followed the instructions, and went to step 4, the list stops at SSO Dailies (70). There were no WoW-Pro entries, which I needed as I wanted to use the addon for levelling in Borean Tundra.
The workaround I did was to delete the guides, and just have the WoW-Pro guide for Borean Tundra in the guide folder. Since that was the only one there, it showed up.
I’m running this on a Mac, not sure if that would be an issue. It shouldn’t be.
I’d like to have all the guides available if I can.. Including the WoW-Pro ones.
Any hints on how I can do that?
Thanks much!

HELP ME PLZ
Hi Jame,
at first i wannaHi Jame,
at first i wanna say that ppl in Germany <3 your guide ๐
I have a question. atm im @ lvl 39. So when i can download these Guide for the addon?
Greetings from Germany
Fallendeath
I’ll give it another goI’ll try tourguide again, after I’m done the Grizzly Hills quest with the original WoW-Pro Addon, I remember one big issue I had with the switch was that I had already gotten 91 steps into the WoW-Pro Custom version, and then couldn’t figure out how to get TourGuide to be on the same page, if you know what I mean…
I might have to look into somehow recreating the original WoW-Pro for myself, because I love it so much.
I switched from zygors guideI switched from zygors guide to this, what is the best way to get in sync?
I felt I had to make a newI felt I had to make a new account to reply to this. I feel for Jame, because people often ask too much of him.
see the top of the page and you will see that Jame has NOT MADE a desolace guide yet. Those are the default guides that come with the addon. (and yes, I agree, that quest is aweful. I cannot wait for more of jame’s guides to be released for tourguide, as I’m loving it already.)
Im so glad that you decided to use tourguide Jame! Im leveling SO much faster using the guides youve put on so far, and cant wait for the lower level guides!!!
I can’t fathom how you couldI can’t fathom how you could like QuestHelper but dislike TourGuide. It’s exactly the same thing besides it’s better and has more information when needed.
You don’t even need to have a button bound for the “next step”, because 99% of the steps in TourGuide will auto-complete once we’re done with improving the addon.
Have you tried Maw’s Human 1-12 Leveling Guide in TourGuide format? If you haven’t, you really should, it will give you an idea of what TourGuide is really going to be like once we’re done with all the chapters.
I don’t know what else to tell you to convince you, TourGuide is a great addon and once you get used to the “icon code” (which is even simplier than the color code I use for my paper guides), you’ll see how easy it is to follow it. I don’t understand how you could prefer to go back to QuestHelper, which is not half as quick in terms of leveling speed, falls over dead whenever someone uploaded a wrong loc to the database and doesn’t contain any of the important infos to finish the more tricky quests.
TypoSmall typo here: Horde – Updated to v0.2 – 22/01/20009
Should be 2009 of course. ๐
It’s not just thatIt’s not just the lack of completeness in the TourGuide, I like the Wow-Pro format more, I have a button bound to the next button, and it works perfectly the way I’d want it to.
0 problems with the original Wow-Pro custom so far.
As for TomTom, i think it’s just messing up with one of my other addons, I used to use QuestHelper till the other day when I found WowPro…
I had also installed lightheadedabcd, but I think I’ll stick with the original WoW Pro as long as I can, then back to QuestHelper for me, I really dislike the TourGuide format.
Sorry, it won’t beSorry, it won’t be happening. ๐
It’s already a huge amount of work to keep one addon updated and to make it perfect. Trust me, TourGuide is a better addon, you just have to wait till every chapter is finished and you’ll see the quality for yourself.
The TomTom “breaking” on you has nothing to do with the TourGuide addon though, it’s something I’ve never heard of before. Could you be more specific? Did you install LightHeaded as well?
Just wanted to let you knowI really love the old Wow-Pro custom addon, I tried the TourGuide and not only is it not as good, the TomTom kept breaking on me, and got stuck in the middle of the char.
So all this to say, is there any way you can keep it updated? or tell me how to import your guides into it myself?
Thanks ๐
P.S. I signed up to the site just to tell you this. lol.. Bring back WoWPro Custom!
32-34 Desolacei dont know if you noticed but the Clam Bait quest is probably the most annoying quest. do everyone a favor and remove this quest from the guide.
