As soon as ”’patch 2.3.0”’ goes live, the WoW-Pro team will level through both [https://www.wow-pro.com/node/599 Jame’s Alliance Leveling Guide] and [https://www.wow-pro.com/node/754 Jame’s Horde Leveling Guide] to adapt them to the new changes that have been made. Everything will be updated from scratch.

* ””The amount of experience needed to gain a level has been decreased between levels 20 and 60. In addition, the amount of experience granted by quests has been increased between levels 30 and 60.””
”’We will take this into account and we think that this will greatly decrease the amount of grinding sessions in all guides, especially the horde beginner guides.”’

* ”Many elite creatures and quests in the level 1-60 experience have been changed to accommodate solo play.”
”’Jame’s guides included a few of those quests that required 2 or more players. We received feedback that this was slowing down the leveling process, especially lately as less and less players visit the old zones. Those quests will now (most likely) be doable solo. In addition we will include all the elite quests we left out previously, if they are doable solo after the patch.”’

* ””Dustwallow Marsh: Many new quests have been added to the zone. The Steamwheedle Cartel have just completed building the new town of Mudsprocket in south west Dustwallow Marsh.””
”’We will include those quests and we’ll remove all annoying “gap filler” quests and grinding sessions that we initially were obliged to use at that level range.”’

If you’d like to have a look at the patch notes yourself: [http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/test-realm-patchnotes.html please follow this link].

Although we have level 20 characters ready for both Horde and Alliance, it will take a few weeks to change all the guides. So if you have some spare time and want to help us with this, ”’please send a private message to Snowflake”’. In any case, I encourage everyone who uses Jame’s guides after patch 2.3 to post comments and tell us about possible changes. The more input we get the faster we’ll update Jame’s Guides.

Great jobI just want to say great job on this guide. I have leveled 2 characters with it and I’m working on a third. Great job guys!

I can’t wait to see the changes to the guide for Dustwallow, I’m holding off on a character until you have that in.

A small other question …Great guide, btw ๐Ÿ™‚

I use your fantastic guide to level a char of each class next to my main. I only play on rested xp and so I am quite often a bit ahead of your expected level. Could you please mark those quests which are not part of a chain and which are not needed later in your guide as optional, if the current XP is beyond the suggested level? That would help my style of play a lot ๐Ÿ™‚ Everytime I tried to skip anything, because I was ahead, it got much more complicated later on, and so I do it in the order you suggested and sometimes have to search for the suggested quest givers, as the “!” is not shown anymore because of my higher level ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Would be great ๐Ÿ˜‰

Where are the elites??It really is terrible that the elites were cut out because yes it was a pain, but it encouraged people to interact with oone another for something other than instances. I couldn’t tell you how many times I was running around STV when out of nowhere I stumbled across a 40+ elite then got killed. Yeah I wasnt thrilled by any means but I learned to be on my feet and I didnt get bored as easy. I must give props to blizzard for putting the flight path at the rebel camp though it has been needed forever.

May I ask though, is willMay I ask though, is will Hosho’s guide to the barrens still be fully compatible to this new guide? and also when will there be a possible release on this new updated guide, as I got my undead rogue to level 19 and will be doing wailing caverns and might possibly stop to wait for this new guide to come out.

yesYes, we will include the new quests from Dustwallow marsh. We will also include all the other quests, which were previously elite and that I left out of the guide, whenever it is possible.

since patchAll in all a great guide, however the WPL/EPL quest section could easily be replaced or at least suplemented with silithus quests. I managed to level my gnome mage to 60 in almost exactly 5 days played (a personal record by many, many days), and only had to turn in one silithus quest. The guide did a great job of including quests that I simply had no idea existed. There’s no need to grind outside of completing quests, and by all means do the Duskwallow Marsh quests in the mid 30’s. Running instances wasn’t even an issue, I caved in and ran ZF (the only run I participated in)

Format wise, the explainations having different numbers than the map key was at times a little confusing (especially due to the amount of alt tabbing that I was doing). Otherwise, and once again, a great guide that has changed the way I approach leveling on nearly every front.

Elite or non-elite, that’s the questionFollowing Quests in STV don’t involve any elite-killing anymore since patch 2.3

Raptor Mastery, Tethis is a regular lv43 mob now.
Panther Mastery, Bhag’Thera is a regular lv42 mob now.
The Eye, Gri’Lok is now a regular Ogre, lv45.
Colonel Kurzen, all the mobs in the cave are non-elites, including Kurzen

Bang’lalash, for the Great Hunt, however, still is elite

In Loch Modan, the ogres have become regular mobs, so the mercenaries quest is easily solo’able. The boss still is elite.

A couple of quests involving killing in the mine before the instance at the deadmines could be included in any guides, since all those mobs are regular ones now.

So far a few of my additions.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Is there a chance…?Is there a chance we can get something to help guide those of us who don’t want to go right to the Outland at 60, but instead finish the original end game? I know running Scholo isn’t really necessary anymore, but I’d love to see some of the original content! ๐Ÿ˜€

Draenei / Blood Elf QuestsIn certain places in the guides (such as the Hinterlands) Draenei / Blood Elf Ambassadors have been added and harbour aditional quests, most of which also take you to the places the current guides locate you to, will these ones be added? ๐Ÿ˜€

Is it possible for you guys to keep this old guide?first, i would like to say AMAZING GUIDE! second, I love the idea of you guys updating this leveling guide but also, can u guys keep this old one? rather than replacing it with the new one. I asked because from my own opinion, i like getting rep from all factions, and this guide right now is amazing! got my warrior to level 70 in a month and also exalted with 3 major cities! unless WoW also makes reputation gain from each quest increased then I guess you can just ignore this section.. lol

As long as you are updatingAs long as you are updating the guides there is something that could help in general. For the parts having the maps with the numbers on them and the explanations below. You could add a number 1, 2, 3… in front of the explanation that correspnds witht he map to make it a little easier.
