๐Ÿ“ฐ 2023: please check out our recently updated WoW Classic Leveling Guides page.

Now also available as an in-game leveling addon. Please check out the following page to try the WoW-Pro Leveling Addon!

Tips
If you don’t want to try our WoW Leveling Addon, here’s how to enjoy the paper guides as much as possible, even if you don’t have a 2nd monitor, you can either:

1. Print the guides. There is a “Printer Friendly Version” link at the bottom of every guide, you just have to click on it. However, that might be expansive (and probably expensive), because the guides are big, very big. Another downside is that my guides are updated very frequently, so if you print it you’ll miss the latest updates.

2. Playing WOW in Windowed Mode feels very comfortable while following along with this guide.

  • Keep the guide opened in an internet window
  • Log in to World of Warcraft, press Escape and go to Video Options, tick the following boxes:

Untitled-4.jpg

Click on “Apply“.

Your screen will look exactly as if you were playing wow in full screen mode, besides you will be able to ALT-TAB to the guide INSTANTLY.

This is how I play wow while following my guide, when I don’t feel like booting up my 2nd computer ๐Ÿ™‚

GrindingAh,okay thanks for reply! Also, I will be leveling a rogue, and some people told me that grinding would be fastest to lvl a rogue. Is this true? Because to be honest i don’t mind grinding I just want to lvl it as fast as possible, without having to go and buy lvling guides, so would like some advice and possibly replies form people who have grinded to 60 or possibly 70 (im not planning to grind 60-70)Thanks in Advance.. PS. Very good guide jame! =)

I was a first time alliance player following this guide made it easy to reach 70! I dinged with 11 days played time!! I wish I s/s >< haha. Im a mage by the way, 2 pieces away from full merc and got offhand / dagger yesterday ๐Ÿ™‚ Also followed tip on farming gold for the epic flyer, on my way to doing so! Hope i get around 4k gold

:)Well your guides still the best I can find after trying a lot of them with my friend. Just got through last chapter with my third char and then realised: Why did I level this? And noted it was just because I wanted a hunter, because hunters don’t get killed by every class it meets. So now i’m dying to get my hands on your Northrend guides. Just one question (don’t have to anwser this if you dont want by any reason) Do I get to Kill Hemet Nesingvary? So incredibly sick of his go kill 30 of these and 30 of those and then come back here. }:)

Guess the fastest leveling will be a month or two when the stream of players start to thin out. ๐Ÿ˜› But noway i’m waiting want to be serverfirst to 80 so shut my self into my room for a week.

    You’re the leveling GOD man!!!!!!!

Fast LevelingThis is an awesome guide ๐Ÿ™‚
No point in saying thanks, seeing as you already get the point and so many people already have, but still – thanks!
Also, I noticed that you DO level very quickly, because i started the guide and level thirty then stopped for a bit. I finally reached level forty-five, and I’ve found it so much easier to level, than when I had stopped the guide, and now I’m even ahead of the guide. Thank you!

It is towards the end of theIt is towards the end of the 3rd chapter (50-60). In short, there are some circuits in the old world which provide as much xp/hour as in Outland, sometimes even more. Anyway, I’ll just quote it for you:
So you are level 58 now. Many people ask if they should just go to Outland at level 58 and never go back to the old world. This is in my experience a mistake. As we’ve seen in this chapter, we’re already getting 10K+ Exp for certain quests already in Felwood and Winterspring. The Plaguelands circuits are just as good, it would be a shame to miss that. Not to mention, if you go to Outland at level 58, you won’t have access to all quests, there are some quests with a level 61+ requirement already in Hellfire Penninsula. So yes, that’s really not the most efficient way.

    However what I recommend is:

Go to Outland and do the first few quests to get some nice gear upgrades, unlock your tradeskills past 300 and get the flight path to Shattrath. Open up my 60-65 alliance guide, follow the guide until step 7. when you arrive at the Temple of Telhamat, get the flight path (buy the first aid book if you wish), then ride to Shattrath (infos on how to do that are somewhere in the guide, use the search function to find it). Get the flight path in Shattrath, then take a portal back to Ironforge and get back to the guide 50-60 guide.
Outlands at 58Could you please provide me with a link to where you explain why it’s bad to go to Outland at 58? ๐Ÿ™‚

I ventured into Outland at 58 with my hunter, and was able to do quests non-stop in Hellfire Peninsula until I hit 62.

    I’veYes, it might hurt ๐Ÿ˜›

I’ve explained in lenghts why it’s bad to go to Outland at 58, so I won’t do it again here. But just know that you probably have troubles, unless:

    – You do a lot of instances to catch up in levels
    – You grind
    – You have a lot of rested bonus

    Thank you jame!Hello!

This guide is just awesome for people like me: I love to play WoW, but im just so slow at leveling sometimes, but with this guide im gaining levels fast, and having a lot of fun at the same time. I’ve leveled my main character to lvl 70 from lvl 34 with the old for of this guide, and now im working on with a priest through the new one. I’m so happy that you, Jame, have made this guide for everyone to read, for free! I really appreciate the work you have done making this guide. You are helping a lot of people with this, and we all – or at least what kind of comments ive seen – love it! I dont have the nerves to make something like this, thats for sure, and im happy that you had.

in a nutshell: this guide is awesome and Jame, you are awesome! and i believe a lot people agree with me ๐Ÿ™‚ THANK YOU JAME

    Great guideHey Jame,
Just thought I’d say thanks for everything. Ive been using this guide since back in the day when leveling was actually difficult ๐Ÿ˜› .

And I also saw someone else ask about which proffessions would be good to compliment the guide, and I think its worth mentioning.
Personally I would always choose 2 gathering proffessions, (Herb/Skin, Mine/Skin) because you’ll level so fast with the guide that you’ll need to make up money somehow to be able to afford your epic mount at 60.

    Thanks again Jame

    Money guides.Hey James,

First of all want to say thanks for the great guide, just got my second character to 70 following it. I was just wondering if there will be any guides for the rest of Netherstorm and for Shadowmoon Valley to help us get some gold for our epic flying mounts.

Lvl 58…Hey Jame. Love Your Guide I Have Followed It Since 38 and I am Now 58. At 55 I Stopped Following On Advice Of My Mate And Then I Hit 57 In A Couple Of Hours (Not Patronizing You, Just I Picked Up Some High Exp Quests In Felwood). I Struggled to 58 and Now I Am In Outland. I Was Wondering, While I Am Going Against Your Guide By Going At 58 Would It Hurt To Follow Your 60-65 Guide At 58?

Thank You Jame!Hey Jame I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for putting together this wonderful guide! It’s amazing!
I am a hardcore horde player and I’ve always wanted to level up an alliance character. However I was never good at leveling on Alliance (partly because I didn’t know where to go to quest) but this guide is helping me along fantastically! I’m following it step by step and I’m doing great! People are even whispering me asking me how I leveled so fast. For example, I was level 28 in a group for RFK with a 32 Hunter. Now I am level 35 and he is still level 33.

Thank You Jame. My Moonkin will be level 70 in no time ๐Ÿ™‚

Where should i startHey Jame, first i wanna Congradulate you on your guide. Second, i just recently found out about your guide. so im lvl 49 now and I started from your 40-50 leveling guide i think im around the lvl 44-45 range and i kinda wanna move on to the 50-60 guide but idk if i should because of the prerequisite quests that u get from the 40-50 guide and i think i might need them. Thought i’d ask you, cause who knows ur guide better than you. thnx.

I’ve leveled severalI’ve leveled several characters before I wrote the guides. I always took notes when I noticed that I could have done quests in a more efficient order.

And then one day I just started to write the guide while leveling an alt. Thottbot and wowhead were of course helpful to make sure I didn’t miss any quests. There’s no better way to write a guide than actually leveling a character while going through each step. Well, at least that’s what I think and it’s how I do it ๐Ÿ˜‰

Jame’s Levelling Guides FTW!Hey I love your levelling guides. And really appreciate the work that you put into them. A few levels after 30 I started your guide, and not that the game wasn’t enjoyable before, it just gave things a whole lot of direction, especially for a first time WoWer. I’m now level 61 thanks to your guides! One question. How did you come up with them? Have you done every single quest and then you just wrote down and prioritized which ones were worth doing based on XP results, time taken etc? Thanks again!

Hey thereHey I just signed up here on the advice of a friend who I has always been able to level his toons with unbelievable speed (or at least I thought so). Last night while I was talking to him on our guild’s vent he pst me with just the phrase “Jame’s Guide” then told me that if I googled it I would find how he does it. So while I haven’t used the guide myself, apparently the credit for his success goes to you! So keep up the good work, & I am looking forward to more efficient playing experience myself, thanks!

    Winterspring New Guide 50-60Hi James,

First of all, you rock! I would not love this game as much as I do if it wasn’t for you. I do have a question though… At lvl 56 in Starfall Village in Winterspring, you receive the quest.. Trouble Spirits of Kel’Theril. You collect all 4 of the Relic Fragments, then in your guide just below lvl 57 – you say to put them in the bank (all 4) that we won’t need them for a while. I can’t find in the rest of your guide when we are suppose to get them from the bank, and where to turn them in? Please help.. Again, thank you for all your hard work!! Your guide is the BEST!!

Confused.Hey. Ive used your 30-40 leveling guide and i had just started chapter two when i stopped playing wow for about a month or two. When i returned i wanted to continue using your guides, so i wanted to pick up where i left off. But when i got on the guide had completely changed :S. I eventually got on track again, but when i got to level 41 part of the guide, i noticed that it goes to badlands, and im sure i have already did that in the guide before, and i looked ahead in the guide and i saw you also go back to stranglethorn vale and all the quests you talk about in badlands and stranglethorn vale i have done in your last guide :(. i know this is because the guide has changed but could you please tell me where i could start because the guide was really good and i wanna use it ๐Ÿ™‚

SM in the 30 – 40 guidefirst of all james great guide. finished it twice doing it on the 3rd time now as a hunter. i noticed you revamped your guide a fair bit and it is fantastic great lvling got from 34-40 in one night XD. i notice you said that instances are no longer forced and all that jazz. i see the you mention uldaman and ZF but not SM yet you make us pick up a quest for there so when do recommend us to finish off the sm quests?.

other than that great guide. i was thinking slot the recommendation for sm when you finish 30 – 40 alliance chapter. just thought i would let you know that is all.

Awesomeheya Jame would like to drop in to say that this guide is well written and helped my fury warrior level to 60 in 4 days 12 hrs /played (dinged about 10 minutes ago ^^)!

Anyway, i have a small problem.. I started your guide at level 32 (although began from the level 30 section) and it never really caught up with me.. i dinged 60 off of the quest that ‘should make you hit level 58′! Should I skip right to the start of the 60-65 section? or is it still more viable to stay in azeroth ’till the end and be 1 or 2 levels ahead all through the outlands guides too?

thanks again for the awesome guide

Just follow the firstJust follow the first circuit in Nagrand (starts somewhere in the last chapter). If for some reason you can’t access a few quests because you don’t have the pre-reqs (there shouldn’t be many), just ignore it and keep following the guide. You’ll catch up eventually and those missing quests won’t matter at all.

Just jump in the guide atJust jump in the guide at the beginning of a circuit close to your current level. Try to do the first Un’goro circuits and grab the linken quest line. Besides that, ignore the other quests you can’t get. After a while, you’ll be back on track, and those quests won’t matter anymore.
