๐Ÿ“ฐ 2023: please check out our recently updated WoW Classic Leveling Guides page.

Now also available as an in-game leveling addon. Please check out the following page to try the WoW-Pro Leveling Addon!

Tips
If you don’t want to try our WoW Leveling Addon, here’s how to enjoy the paper guides as much as possible, even if you don’t have a 2nd monitor, you can either:

1. Print the guides. There is a “Printer Friendly Version” link at the bottom of every guide, you just have to click on it. However, that might be expansive (and probably expensive), because the guides are big, very big. Another downside is that my guides are updated very frequently, so if you print it you’ll miss the latest updates.

2. Playing WOW in Windowed Mode feels very comfortable while following along with this guide.

  • Keep the guide opened in an internet window
  • Log in to World of Warcraft, press Escape and go to Video Options, tick the following boxes:

Untitled-4.jpg

Click on “Apply“.

Your screen will look exactly as if you were playing wow in full screen mode, besides you will be able to ALT-TAB to the guide INSTANTLY.

This is how I play wow while following my guide, when I don’t feel like booting up my 2nd computer ๐Ÿ™‚

HEyHey James you have a great thing going with these guieds and gratz on the new addon……i only have one problem, i recently just found your guides and before i had seen them i went to dragonblight after Borean tundra instead of howling Fjord and i did all the quests i could in dragonblight besides a couple of group quets and now i’m 73 and like a half, so i was wondering what i should do…..i’m guessing i should go to howling fjord since all your coments about this stuff is usally just go to the closest sercet to your lvl but i was just wondering how this would effect me lvling ways ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜€

icecrown?first of all, let me say your guides are as necessary as auctioneer for this player, and i cant imagine playing without them.

but if ever there was a back-and-forth-retrace your-steps-constantly type place that needed your expert efficiency skills, it would be icecrown. any chances of us seeing a guide for there? i know you didnt get into the final areas of outland much, so should we expect the same in northrend? are we doomed to 1-2 quest turn ins forever?

I’ve been using them for my main which I leveled from 30-77 using your guides.

Really superYou know what would be SOOO super amazing if at the bottom of each level guide section, ESPECIALLY the 1-21 guides, if there was just a list of all the quests completed in that section and a list of those that need to be in the log, so those of us who aren’t starting at lvl “0” can know if they’ve got everything they need to jump into the middle of a guide. Can’t wait to get started on your guides they look AMAZING! ๐Ÿ˜€ oh and i will probably end up crediting you to loss of even more of my life.

Actually on a not-new serverActually on a not-new server you might just as well check the AH. There you should be able to aquire a weapon of similar DPS whenever you want to, without ever travelling into borean tundra. (at least i found loads of 108 dps weapons for all 2hand types for ~20-30g each (even my bags were more expensive ๐Ÿ˜‰ ).
And it should get you through till “Last rites”, where you get your weapon of choice till lvl 75 (Zul’Drak Arena Q).

Another Thankyou PostHey Jame, just like to pass on my thanks to you, for these wonderful guides, my DK is currently in Grizzly Hills doing the 9 daily quests for XP whilst waiting for the next section of the guide but i’d just like to add that i think you should get it done in your time, all these people want you to hurry up, but i’d prefer a guide of the same great quality to one thats been released prematurely,

Carbonite is an excellentCarbonite is an excellent addition to Jame’s fantastic guides, I use it myself. It’s a helpful tool for plotting out movement and quest areas.

Just want to give Jame more praise for his amazing work, I couldn’t possibly have hit the level I have (currently 74 with literally the WORST schedule possible) without his help. Thanks again Jame!

Thanks so much. For keeping this guide free. You could easily charge 40 dollars for this and people would buy it like they do that Brian Kopp shit but yours is so much better(I downloaded it to see what it was like, I didn’t buy it.) Just wanted to say you rock.

I also read thatI also read that somewhere.

Keep in mind that you can use addons such as Questhelper or Carbonite while you wait. They aren’t as good as Jame’s guides, but if you want to keep moving they are an option.

An alternative to bartenderAn alternative to bartender that I use is Dominos, I personally find it easier to configure but it’s really up to your own style and preference.

  • img
    Dec 22, 2008 @ 9:55 am

You don’t HAVE to use it.You don’t HAVE to use it. It’s 100% optional. It just replaces your default blizzard action bars with better, more customizable ones.

To configure it, you have to type /bar in-game, and then from there just try around until you become familiar with the addon. It’s really not complicated.

An IdeaHello, Jame! I read your guide quite a bit, and I have a suggestion for you. Sorry if it’s already been suggested.

At the beginning of each level in your leveling guides, do you think it would be possible to list the quests you should have, where to find them, and any other pertinent information regarding the section to come? I believe that this would be a great addition, as I have just recently started up the guide, and I’ve been trying to figure out where to start and work it out.

Alliance 70-80Hey Jame, started using your leveling guide just a couple of days ago and am up to 73 now after just the 70-72 part of your guide (granted I visited some instances etc.) I just bought the expansion recently and well, I should be 77-78 in just a matter of days but do you have any estimated time for the 77-80 part of the Alliance Guide? All the more ‘pretty’ races are in the Alliance so that should be on priority number one ๐Ÿ˜‰

I would suggest continuingI would suggest continuing with the Outland guide. At least until you hit 71-72. Being ahead of the curve in Northrend is great since quests are just more efficient and easier to do. Plus, as an added bonus for people on pvp servers, being ahead on levels usually means you are slightly ahead of people you are questing around. That rogue might be slightly less likely to attack you if you are 2-3 levels above him than if you were equal.

Plus, once you hit 80 you’ll have a lot more quests to do for gold. I’ve only made about 2k gold going from 70-77 so I know I’ll need to do a lot more quests once I’m 80 so I can buy my flying epic mount.

hi jame!i absolutely love your guides but i have one small question. ive just turned lvl 70 on my gnome warlock midway through nagrand due to instances boosting my xp alot but i dont know whether to drop outlands and go straight to northrend or stay in outland and clean up

i know you probably get these types of questions 100 times a day but i just thought i’d ask your honest opinion!

Little tipAt level 68 its worth heading into Borean Tundra for 5 minutes to do the quest “The Siege” (Alliance side, not sure Horde’s version) http://thottbot.com/q11797 for spending 5 minutes I was able to get a really nice weapon upgrade for my deathknight, making the last 2 levels in BC that much easier.

Awesome guide! Been using itAwesome guide! Been using it since my first character hit 30 and I’ve been hooked ever since.

I’m a little anxious to see the rest of the WotLK guide though. I leveled from 76-77 in Grizzly Hills on my own and the questing felt messy and scattered. Pretty sure I missed a bunch of quests too.

Could you release them as you go? Maybe if you have the next zone all written out, you could put that up while you continue to work on the rest. ๐Ÿ˜›

    Great work!

Thanks a bunchI’ve been using your guides for over a year now and just wanted to let you know how helpful they’ve been! I was dreading leveling my DK through Outlands, but with the guides I blew through BC in less than a week and am now 76 with the majority of Northrend to work through (I took your advice to stay in Outlands as long as possible, I even went back and did half of 75 in Netherstorm) and I’ll be 80 in no time.
Whenever someone asks where something is, I just tell them to google your guide. People have actually thought I am trying to sell them something or scam them because of how good I say it is.. Whatever ๐Ÿ˜›
