Done up to DK guides. LeftDone up to DK guides. Left messages on all guides that weren’t perfectly up to date. Those that are still useful as is, left as they are with a comment stating they need minor updates. Those that will be out of date in Cata, left a note.

Need to mark all of this down so it can be put into a Needed Guides page. Blarg.

It’s late, I’m going to sleep. If you would like to look at what I did in the DK section, go ahead, and if you would like to continue my work you can. You won’t be able to move anything, but if you note that it needs to be moved to archives or to work in progress mode, I can do that.

Archive – anything that is no longer useful. Gear guides are still useful, but talent and spell guides from pre-4.0 are not.

Work in Progress – anything that is rated a 2 or below on average, or anything you think is just really low quality if it’s not rated (you can be the only rater). Anything that is pretty much a duplicate of another guide but lower quality.

It’s okay if you don’t get to this, I’ll be working on it more tomorrow.

Should it go to the archive? I have a comment there explaining what I mean – the stuff is still in game (for now) but I’m not sure it’s really worth having a guide for, since it’s not legendary and not many people would care about getting it.

It occurred to me as I was moving things around that we need a new guild guide to cover all the crazy perks, leveling, achievements, items, etc.!

Got a few guides to release soon too so that should be a bit of a chunk of points… Providing I don’t make a massive arse of them 😛

I’ll alphabetize most of itI’ll alphabetize most of it when it’s implemented, though I want to leave a few things in a different order – blogs, other language guides, and archives at the bottom, might put guide writing guides and addon pages at the top.

And, I honestly would like to just make you a moderator, but I understand why Jame has the karma system tied to that rank and I don’t want to bypass it, and it would be bad if I made exceptions to the rules (other people would be jealous of your awesomeness. It just sucks doing everything myself! 😛 So… crank out that karma so I can promote you! 😀

Seriously, though, you’ve already helped a lot by getting the ball rolling.

Next on my list after I go through the category changes here – I want to update and revamp the Needed Guides page, and perhaps combine or at least link it with the addon page and the cataclysm sign up page(s!). It’s all messy and hard to find atm. Then I need to get some more documentation going. I would also like to make a page on the general format we like to see in a guide, not required but suggested for people who want some structure.

If any of that sounds interesting, feel free to grab a task and run with it. I foresee many points in your future 😀

I based mine off of theI based mine off of the setup we currently had as I think it’s just the way it’s known by everyone as being. However, yours makes way more sense than mine overall. I do agree with the General guides naming and the big one-group that it is – the smaller ones at top level make more sense for organisation and also ease of use for everyone. And just perhaps add a section for ‘general’ guides that don’t really have a dedictaed section – misc. guides – or something similar.

I think you hit the nail on the head in one shot exactly right 🙂

The only niggle I have with it is just me being a retard with my OCD and alphabetical ordering everything, that’s it.

I don’t know how much I can help with the actual update or what you’d want to do about it’s implementation, but whatever I can do to help I shall 🙂

My takeAlright, looking at this now. I have always hated the “General Guides” category – first of all, it’s an entirely incorrect title, it should be “Miscellaneous” or “Other” guides. Secondly, a lot of those categories are HUGE and I don’t know if slapping them all under a general grab-bag category is the best idea. But, keeping all those categories at top level may not be best either. I’ll go ahead and move them to top level in my outline and we’ll see how it looks. I made a few other changes to titles to try and keep them very accessible for noobs. I combined a couple of the smaller categories and moved some things around. No noSorry Skum, I hit some major issues with the addon today and was taking care of that all day. I still really want to get to the site improvements later tonight or tomorrow, but it’s already midnight so that may not happen. I did take a huge nap today though so it’s possible!

Regardless, it’s getting worked on sometime this week I promise!
