TestingI will have upcoming free time the Beta Testing phase and would love to contribute in anyway possible. I intend on leveling and re-leveling characters through the same content throughout the Beta in order to adjust to new class mechanics and learn as much about the next expansion as possible. For example I will likely be leveling several different hunters alone whenever a major change is introduced to the class. For this reason I will constantly be interacting with newly implemented changes and will have characters at all levels across the board to test with.

I am willing and would rather enjoy helping with the testing of both the written guides and their add-on counterparts. Since I also intend on recording all of my experiences throughout the beta I would also like to volunteer my services as a guide writer as well, or to at the very least offer my experiences to those already working on them.

I was wondering…I was wondering if I can do both Guide Writing & Guide Testing.

I want to write the Worgen starting guide. And test it & test some other ones.

I have time thru June thru August sometimes between Sept until the release date.

I’ve been using your guides for my toons. Especially Jame’s Leveling Guides I found this site on Google when WotLK was released. I never really joined until last week.

And I’m a big fan of Wow-pro and Jame’s guides. So let me know if you choose me to write the Worgen Leveling Guide.

You might have already known this, I just wanted to be sure you knew you didn’t have to wait for the beta to actually start before being able to opt in!

For beta keys receivedFor beta keys received through the opt in process, I believe this is correct. I’m assuming Blizzard has some other system in place for beta keys received through conventions or other means (such as those given to valuable community members), but I honestly don’t know first hand.

Unfortunately I didn’t get accepted into the beta for WotLK so I’m really hoping to make it into Cataclysm beta.

A Beta Key is simply a codeA Beta Key is simply a code that allows you to log into the beta test. Blizzard gives them out to people at random (as long as you “opt in” to their beta program), but with consideration to their computer’s specifications – they want to make sure that their new games work on a wide range of computers. They are also sometimes given to active community members in the larger WoW community, such as blog authors, site administrators, etc. Additionally, they are sometimes given out as rewards or prizes at events such as Blizz Con.

(I don’t know code, but I did convert a couple guides to the other addon back when we were deciding format.) I’ve silently followed & used your guides since vanilla wow, and have not lvled 1 single toon to 80 (got 13 of ’em, lol.. i call myself a true altoholic) without following your guides, or atleast find inspiration in them.
So i find this chance to perfect & secure the best lvling guide possiblem to be too great to let go.

and the wrath guides made leveling from 70-80 a breeze (sadly not server first.. stupid job..)

I would gladly help converting to addon formatI have been thinking of starting to help with converting current guides into addon format but with the uncertainty of the tourguide based addon i have held off.

I am more than happy to convert the guides to addon format, and i have some (limited) programming experience so it will be less of a learning curve for me =)

IIRC I have my own beta code (from Blizzcon 08). I was kinda planning on using it for Cata, so I might as well put that time to good use.

Jame may not have many (ifJame may not have many (if any) beta keys to hand out. So make sure you “opt in” from your Battle.net account page! That way you have a chance of getting one on your own. Of course, we can only hope we’ll get a bunch of keys to give to our active community members!

I’d really like to help withI’d really like to help with this, as I’ve been a big wow-pro.com fan for a really long time. I haven’t written any guides, but I do have 4+ years of WoW experience. Another thing, I will have a lot of free time between June and August, if this is when the beta will take place (no college). So I could probably help with guide writing, and I could definitely help with guide testing, addon or written. I could also write other guides for the wow-pro community before then, to see if I can really take place in the guide writing part.
