World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, the latest expansion for the popular MMORPG, has just released its final content update, patch 10.2: Guardians of the Dream. This patch introduces a new zone, the Emerald Dream, where players can explore the realm of nature and face the corrupted forces of Fyrakk the Blazing. The patch also features a new raid, the Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope, where players will encounter 9 challenging bosses, including the Tindral Sageswift – Seer of the Flame,Smolderon and the final showdown with Fyrakk the Blazing himself putting the end of the patch raid cycle of this expansion.
The Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope is the ultimate test for the best raiding guilds in the world, (even Max said this was the best raid that has come in a while on his last Twitch podcast)who will compete to see who can clear the raid on the highest difficulty, Mythic, first. This is known as the Race to World First (RWF), a prestigious and thrilling event that attracts millions of viewers and fans. The RWF is not only a matter of skill and coordination, but also of strategy and preparation, as the guilds have to deal with limited information, unexpected mechanics, and fierce competition. Furthermore, it is slowly but surely becoming an esport and gets the attention not only by fans, but bettors as well.
The RWF for the Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope in World of Warcraft will begin on November 14, with the opening of all difficulties including Mythic. Several guilds have already started their progress, streaming their attempts live on Twitch and YouTube. Among them, there are some familiar names that have proven themselves in previous RWFs, as well as some newcomers that hope to make a mark in the history of WoW.
Main Competitors
Here are some of the teams that are competing for the RWF title:
Method (EU): Method is the most successful and dominant guild in the RWF scene, having claimed 13 World First titles. However, since the incidents in BFA, the core team has split between them and Echo (EU). They have been struggling to get into the race of top positions, but maybe this is the patch where they will show that they have progressed and achieved their previous level. Method has a good roster of veteran and new players, led by the charismatic and experienced raid leader, Scott “Sco” McMillan. Method is not really considered as the favorite to win the RWF, but no one should underestimate their desire and tradition of the name Method.
Echo (EU): Echo is the main rival and challenger of Liquid (US), having formed from the core of the former Method raiders who left the guild after the Ny’alotha RWF. Echo has shown impressive performance and potential in the previous RWFs, coming close to beating Liquid in the previous tier, Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible. Some of their fans blame the time difference, but Echo did coincide and congratulated Liquid for their win. Echo has a talented and motivated roster of players, led by Scripe as their overall leader and the charismatic and experienced raid leader, Roger “Rogerbrown” Brown. Echo is determined to prove themselves as the best guild in the world, and to dethrone Liquid from their reign.
Liquid (US): Liquid is the best guild in the US region, and the best guild in the world, according to the RWF rankings. They have made a breakthrough in the RWF scene, becoming the first US guild to win a World First title in Ny’alotha, the Waking City. Liquid has a skilled and dedicated roster of players, led by the charismatic and experienced raid leader, Max “Maximum” Smith. Liquid is aiming to repeat their success from the previous tier, and to challenge Echo for the RWF title.
Pieces (EU): Pieces is the second best guild in the EU region, and the fourth best guild in the world, according to the RWF rankings. Pieces has been a consistent and strong contender in the RWF scene, having achieved several top 5 finishes, including a World Second title in Crucible of Storms. Pieces has a talented and passionate roster of players, led by the charismatic and experienced raid leader, Martin “Meeres” Meere. Pieces is hoping to improve their performance and results, and to challenge the top 3 guilds for the RWF title.
Honorable Mentions
These are just some of the teams that are competing for the RWF title, but there are many more that are worthy of attention and respect, such as FatSharkYes, Impact, Exorsus, Sloth, and more. The RWF is a dynamic and unpredictable event, where anything can happen, and where surprises and upsets are always possible.
Judgment
Some called it a two horse race with Echo and Liquid competing for the challenge. But even the best crypto & Bitcoin gambling sites in their eSports sections give some good odds to Pieces and Exorsus as possible title runners. Hopefully, when November 14th comes, the races kick off and we will start to get the feel on which team will compete alongside Echo and Liquid for the title. Nobody can predict anything, and our lord and gameplay savor Ion Hazzikostas can make things interesting with some quick hotfixes on the mythic difficulty bosses.
Conclusion
The RWF is not only a competition, but also a celebration of the WoW community and its passion for the game. It is a spectacle that showcases the best of WoW, its gameplay, its lore, its art, and its music and moreover community. The RWF is an event that you don’t want to miss, so make sure to follow the action on Twitch and YouTube, and to support your favorite teams and players. Who will be the first to conquer the Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope, and to claim the RWF title? The race is about to get on, and surely surprises await us.
