The following is a list of gear that can be attained without even touching a raid. Great for those of you that would like to raid but do not feel your gear is good enough yet, or just for those of you that don’t have time to raid but would like to make your character as powerful as you can!

This gear guide is based on a Death Knight with the following specc : 50/0/21. In the guide I use blue gems, which aren’t too expensive and are definitely worth the money for the extra stats they provide.

With the gear, enchants and gems shown in this guide you’ll be pulling off around 3000 DPS and will have the following stats while self buffed :

  • HP : 22,061

    4.0 Update NeededThis is currently outdated for the new specs and abilities introduced in 4.0. I’m moving it to the archive section, since it’s high quality and could be updated to incorporate the new changes.

    Dancing Rune Weapon DOESDancing Rune Weapon DOES gain attack power from Hysteria. I would aim to use it right after bloodlust/heroism, since it will also gain that buff. But make sure you use DRW AFTER you use Hysteria/trinkets/etc. as anything popped after will not affect it.

    Edit: Your rotation will be more like PS – IT – HS – HS – DS – DUMP – DS – HS – HS – HS – HS.
    This way your Frost/Unholy runes are off CD and ready to re-apply diseases.

    Looks good. Found oneLooks good. 🙂 Found one problem though. You have Greater Inscription of the Axe as your chest enchant, that’s not going to work. I would suggest Powerful Stats (or Super Stats for a cheaper alternative). Also a list of Glyphs would be good since some of them will affect your DPS. Other than that, good job. 4 stars.

    With the listed items youWith the listed items you can easily be a top DPS’er in Naxxramas, Obsidian Sanctum, Vault of Archavon and maybe Trial of the Champion normal!

    As the listed gear is better than mine, i would assume around 4800 DPS is easily accomplished with a full set of raid buffs, and the right rotation!

    The Rotation would look like:

    PS – IT – HS – HS – DS – (RP dump) – HS – HS – HS – HS – HS – HS – (RP dump) repeat

    PS= Plague Strike
    IT= Icy Touch
    HS = Heart Strike
    DS= Death Strike
    RP dump= Death Coil

    You should also use your Dancing Rune Weapon as soon it is off CD and you have 65 RP.
    As far as i know Dancing Rune Weapon gains the extra attack power from your trinkets, but NOT from hysteria!
    Although i usually use both my Trinket and hysteria along with it for some insane DPS.

    I like the format, youI like the format, you surely did a great job on the guide, but I also think it could use some work on:

What raids does it gear you too? Add a note.

Add some alternatives. You only suggest one item to pick up, I’m sure that there is more than one you can use to become raid ready.
I would also expand the guild to a Blood raiding guide – adding a rotation circle. Check out some of the other guides ehre on the site for inspiration.

    Overall a great guide, and I hope you keep working on it!

    Edit: I will also recommend gemming a bit hit, so you get the hit cap too, you’ve only 154, the hitcap is around 235 (If I remember right).
