WoW-Pro Guild Discussion
I have some reflections about the WoW-Pro ingame community from watching the poll currently going on.
It seems there are about equal interest for Alliance and Horde factions and I think this is solved best this way:
We roll on a PVE realm (on both the US and EU versions of the guilds of course). One Alliance member creates a guild called something like WoW Pro Alliance and a Horde member creates a guild called WoW Pro Horde. As far as I know, you can create characters from both factions on PVE realms and you can therefore be a member of both guilds (this haven't been changed, have it?). The guild can then have the same ranking system like the website: Trusted, Honored, Revered, Exalted etc and the members have their ingame ranks accordingly.
With the amount of members who have voted in the poll I'm sure there is enough interest to create these guilds with pretty good activity on both factions. What are your reflections?

The guild on terokkar.
I am going to ask to all the wow-proers on Terokkar EU (6 of us signed on the wiki page, PLEASE add yourself if you are reading this and wanna play!) if the guild name choosen by Jawho is ok: he has already purchased a charter and called the guild "wow pro". I like it because it's clear and simple. I think it also will be a good way to promote the site, because if a non-registered user of this site will eventually see a guild named "like the site", he will certainly ask for more information and maybe join both the guild and the site.
Answer here if you can or contact Jawho (whose in game name is Jahwy) or me (you find me on my lil' dwarfy named Benhir).

Not currently, no. I was debating creating a wiki page to list each Wow-pro user's character for each realm so we wouldn't clog up this page and give something easy to reference so we know who to add to our friends list.
So far it seems the PvE realms for EU and US are pretty much spoken for.
I could go ahead and create the page and once PvP realms are decided, the list could be populated.

I'm not opposed to playing anywhere and I can tolerate playing Alliance side only if I have good friends around. I'm just starting to get involved in the WoW Pro community myself but I think if everyone can learn to put up with my eccentric behavior and sometimes overbearing personality we'll be fine. The name of the guild though I'm still not keen on any names. At first I would have reservations about instantly naming it something regarding wow pro, but since it will be a pve server naming convention won't matter.

As far as I know, there are already people who have rolled Horde on Terokkar. Those I interacted with on Alliance side yesterday (when I tried your guide, btw) was Jahwo and Benrir. I want to know for sure, however, if we'll only purchase one charter or if we'll purchase two. And if two, what are the guild names? Who will purchase it and how do we get in contact with every member to invite them?

We could just call one guild "WoWPro" and the other one "WoW Pro"
And we'd have to make a thread or something with the names of persons who can invite to the guild, so anyone who wants to join has someone to speak to ingame.

On some comments I found that Manovan has already rolled on Terokkar, followed by Jawho. Let's clarify things: is Terokkar going to be the final choice? Anyone has found good names for the guild? I only think bad names such as "WoW Pro army" or "Jame's minions". If I'm right, we are going to create first the alliance guild, but we need players willng to roll horde and start another guild as well!

Um, by the way. Making both a horde guild and an alliance guild is ridiculous. This will split us too much apart. Just roll Horde, and not alliance. After all, the poll indicates that most people would like to roll hordes.
And rolling on Terokkar is just fine. The other poll indicates that most people would like to roll on a normal server.
So ideally, the wow-pro in-game community should be like the following:

I don't think it'll split us apart since you can roll both factions on the same realm if it's PVE. I'm not joining to stick to one char, I'm joining to create multiple alts for the sake of my guide writing (both Horde and Alliance).

Having two factions removed the whole point of the in-game community. It were supposed to be a place where you can just simply log in and interact with other people from WoW-Pro. But what's the point of that when close to half of the people will play on the opposite faction.
Alright, by rolling on one faction, alot of people won't get their will, and will have to adjust to the majority's wishes. But that is neccesary in order to gather the community in-game.
This whole thing is just a big mess, and people just do things without being sure if that's what other people want. I suggest that you just stick to the results of the polls and go by that.
Well, enjoy the reroll. As it looks now, I'm certaintly not gonna join, that's for sure. Manovan, I could avoid saying this, but I will - your ideas of playing on two factions ruined the whole thing.
That's all, and I hope you wont get too mad about this Manovan, but I'm just telling the truth.

You're not telling a truth, you're stating an opinion. It might prove to be the truth eventually, but it's way too early to claim that it is now.
I don't mind joining a Horde guild at all and personally, I had plans to join them both.
My own personal reason for wanting both factions might be egoistic because I wanted to take the opportunity to work on my Darkshore guide (something I couldn't do with only a Horde character). However, I can always do that guildless.
But you must understand that it's already divided even past continents. Like when you say that you won't join because of both factions, others won't join because they lost the faction poll. Others won't join because they wanted PVP, RP or RPPVP realms. This is a big community and we all want different things. Just because we have polls doesn't mean that everyone will be pleased. That's impossible. It only means that a majority will be, despite how many are part of the minority.
I thought a guild for both factions would please the most people. If it doesn't, then we need to rethink this. After all, there were hundreds of votes. Even a faction split would probably mean two guilds with lots of activity.

Everyone won't be pleased about playing on another type of realm than what they want, but it can't hardly be that bad. They'll just have to adjust themselves to the opinion of the majority. While writing this, I were just watching Obama on TV, and came up with another example; in the recent US election, Obama got elected. Those who voted for McCain, will just have to accept that the majority want's Obama. They will therefore just accept that, and make the best out of it. I don't think all of those were pleased about it, but that's how it works when voting for something - you can loose, and will have to adjust to the wishes of the majority. Besides that, there isn't that much of a difference between Obama and McCain.

I think it's wrong to compare faction choice to politicians. The losing party is pretty much stuck with the winning one for the next four years while the losing faction can quit their chars and go back to their mains or reroll guildless. If we force our members to only roll Horde chars, I think they will be bored and end up quitting the guild with no other option than to go back to their previous characters.
Two guilds equals a split, but members have the option to choose either one side or both which prevents some of the quitting.

Personally I think sticking to one faction might be the best. There's already the forced split due to different continents, which I was bemoaning earlier, making the community divided, so even more splits aren't going to help things.
