Instance guides need revampingFor awhile now, most level 15-70 instances have become practically irrelevant.
Waiting for groups was a total waste of time. Leveling the WoW-Pro way was much faster, the gear upgrades were not worth the effort. If u needed a gear upgrade, you paid a high level to run you through.

All this has changed since the introduction of the dungeon finder. Now, doing instances has become relevant again. However XP wise, they still not equal to your guides, unless combined with quest gathering, and doing all the quests.

It would be good to have a tour-guide style instance guide, including the quest gathering phase.

Hmm. Sorry for my grammar. Almost 100% go to Outlands. The benefits of staying in Azeroth until 60 (erm..?) are little, the benefits of going to Outland (twice the xp, twice the cash, better gear, more fun…!)… so yeah.

FYITrying to read the recent comment “Too High? Meed Help.” [sic] and I keep getting an advertisement that’s hijacking me off the site to younghollywood.com. Also got it when trying to load up the chapter of the guide I’m about to ask about.

Due to my altoholicism, I’ve got heirlooms on a little leveling army that I rotate through to avoid running out of rested xp bonus. This has resulted in me hitting level 59 after the 2nd lap through Un’Goro (Alliance guide).

Is it going to be more efficient to dump the remainder of old world quests and go to Outland at 60? Or should I continue plugging along and finish out the guides?

    Blizz can be so cruel.Jame,

Thanks for the guides… thay have been a godsend when I want to get a toon to 80 quickly. I want to let you know that the guides are still very worthwhile, even though blizz have changed many of the quest chains.

I also want to let new players know that any inconsistencies that they find are purely down to changes made in 3.2. Don’t whine at Jame! 🙂 If you take the time to read the Qs and exercise a little brain power, you’ll get there.

Anyway, keep fighting the good fight!

Just want to kept in the loopI just want to know if there are going to be class guides, im mostly looking forward to Horde/Alliance, Death Knight and Paladin guides

Actually I think I recallActually I think I recall Jame mentioning that it was a possibility in the far future, to do some more specific guides for each class. But with the addon, we are able to integrate class quests or even class-specific advice into it seamlessly, so this is even more a reality.

Still, it’s unlikely that Jame will be doing that anytime soon. He has his hands full with his normal leveling guides, the addon, and of course managing the site.

However, if some other industrious wow-pro writer wanted to make a special DK (or any class) version of Jame’s guides, I’m sure it would be well received!

  • img
    Jul 15, 2009 @ 21:38 pm

Well, I think Jame won’tWell, I think Jame won’t EVER do a dedicated DK leveling guide after level 60. DK can follow easily – too easily if you ask me – the 60-70 and 70-(80?) guides, they are just overpowered in the first levels that you will end very ahead of the guide, which is, no surprise here, a GOOD THING 😉 So if I were in you I wouldn’t wait for DK 60++ guides, they won’t come out ever.

EDIT: woops my intention wasn’t to reply to Jiyambi but the original post. Sorry 🙁

If by new you mean deathIf by new you mean death knight guides after lvl 60, I know this is a very low priority for Jame. He’s more concerned with the addon, then the rest of the Northrend guides.

EDIT: In case you didn’t know – death knights can definitely use the other level 60-80 guides that Jame has written.

Jame has been going throughJame has been going through a big change in RL. I’ve been in contact with him and I think that he’ll be back in a few weeks. He probably shut off his wow account for a while to save money since he doesn’t have time to play at the moment.

But from what he has told me, he WILL be back, it will just take a little while.

In the meantime, the guides are definitely NOT dead. They are being actively worked on in addon form, and other users are even writing awesome new guides, such as the one for Shadowmoon Valley. So don’t worry!

Besides, there are lots of other awesome guides on this site to check out!

Thanks to Jame and all the Guide AuthorsI registered just to give a shout out to Jame and all the guide authors featured in the addon.

I was a huge fan before the addon. The web guides are incredibly detailed and of beautiful quality.

However, I just rerolled on a new server, new faction, to start fresh.

Wow, the addon makes things go so quickly. I’m really, really impressed.

To all those people asking for quicker updates, ask yourself if you want it fast or you want it right. Quality takes time, very high quality demands enough time to do it right.

Thank you guys so much for putting these out!

    Dailyquest guide – WotlkHey Jame!
I wonder if some of the guys are making a dailyquest guide, cuz it would be great for money grinding 😀

You don’t need to have open eyes, to see who people are!

Rep in WOTLKJame, based on what I have been reading their is no longer rep based grinding per say. Ie no grinding for the rings or marks like you had to for the Aldor/Scyer.

All level 80 instances will give rep, which by default will go to the grouping of the new Northrend factions. ie Alliance Vanguard or Horde Expedition. However if you want the reputation to go to another faction for instances the Wyrmrest Accord, you would simply need to wear their Tabard.

A first aid guide would beA first aid guide would be nice, clearly.

With a list of all trainers locations as well, and with clear explanations for some of them. I’m sure you’ve had your fair share of people asking “Where is First Aid trainer?” in General Howling Fjord or Borean Tundra.

And there’s also all the new rep grinds, all the profession guides which could use an update since most of them only cover up to 375.

Need anything, Jame?We have had our arguments about your guides in the past but I always preface it with how amazingly awesome you are!

I was swinging by to see if you need anything for northrend?

    First aid guide

    Skinning tips

    Leather working tips?

    Anyhting like that?

    Rep grinds?

If not I wanted to say that the greatest thing I have ever gained from your guides is the idea of “quest circuits” gathering as many quests for a zone I can then looking at the map and deciding what order to do them in. It is. in my opinion the difference between your guide and all the other terrible guides out there.

I have actually retired from my Jame guide addiction. My best ingame buddy is addicted and we are racing. He is about a level ahead of me so I am doing ok! Dinged 76 as I completed my last Dragonblight quest and as I understand it, that’s right where I should be.

So for all the people begging for 75 – 80 guide, get the quests you can and then look at ur map for 5 minutes and figure out where to go. No, it will not be as efficient as Jame’s guide but it WILL be the closest thing to it. Practice seeing the map through Jame’s eyes! *that sounded creepy*

Thanks for all your work Jame, you are covered in purple IMO!
