2 Average: 2 (7 votes) Leveling tips for the starters of World of Warcraft 1. Always update your food and make sure to have a lot of it. Levels:(5) (15) (25) (35) (45) (55) (65) (75) 2. Remember to have a alt at the bank. this way you don't have to run to get stuff from your bank or from your auctions. just put an alt near a mailbox (orgrimmar) and then have take your items. when leveling you can get some cool things you can sell on the auction. go to the closest mailbox and mail them to your alt. 3. Now for this tip, there has been alot fo debate. Basically many people think that this tip goes against james leveling guide. Well im not going to be a liar; It does. I made this tip for people who are not using his guide (even though its great) and for people who just want to play it by ear.The tip was to grab all the quests you can. Now i realize in many cases this is not advised. But when it comes to having just a little bit more experiance till you can go to the next zone and you just want to get there really quickly. Dont be afraid to go quest hunting. Now in many situation some quests are just time wasters. For example, dont just go into a dungeon to do a quest. As much as it might help; in the time you could be done that quest you could be alreay done maybe 5 quests. Your basically going in there for griding exp or gear. The quest is just a bonus. However if your getting run then its the other way around. It will be worth it if your just doing a quick run with a higher level. 4. Make sure to use addons to help you quest. things such as Quest helper or Cartographer can put a way point to your leveling; (like a GPS) on your screen telling you were to go. its really helpful and can bring your played time down a lot. questhelper (click here to download) Carbonite Quest (click here to download) 5. Try not to leave quest items in your bank. remember that you will need them eventually and that any time when you are somewhere u will need them, and you don't have them, you will have to run all the way back. 6. When at a lower level don't worry as much about quests. yes do killing quests but things such as collection quests. unless they are to do with killing don't do them until you are at least level 3-4. its really easy top grind to level 3, that's all I'm saying. Now im not saying that you cannot im just saying that in my opinion, i just like gridning for the first few levels 7. Unless you are a really high level don't worry about your professions. if you have skinning just skin he monsters and you will level up quick. the only profession you may want to worry about is First Aid and if you have skinning that too. other than that you don't really need to unless you want to cook for yourself than that's a different situation. 8. When ever you log out make sure to log out in the nearest inn. this will give you rested experience which is double the experience you would get for killing a monster in normal mode. 9. Grinding alone isn't always fun. try questing and grinding together. together they make a great match. but really its all your choice. 10. When a lower level try to put you hearth to the nearest inn were your leveling and not to a main city. when you get above 30-40 then you may want to switch because there is a lot more questing and stuff int he main cities. 11. many people say don't do your dailies when your a low level. I don't believe that. Its a fun quest and the game is about fun. Your having fun in Battlegrounds plus getting your experience. however once your daily is done go back to leveling.(optional tip; my opinion), as much fun as this may be, i like it, but it is not always advised as it is not the best leveling quests. Its fun to get extra honor and kill some alliance/horde. However in most cases i don't suggest it, especially in cases of wanting to get to 80 as fast as possible. 12, A new tip now.. i have found that when leveling (especially in Northrend) your best bet is to grab those dailies for a bit of extra exp... if your in James guide for some reason, I Don't Know.... you don't want to do a specific quest, you can replace it w/ a daily. however this isn't always great as it can mess up the chain of quests and you might just end up doing it anyways. but for example if you need a bit extra experience, this is a nice little way to get a bit more. for example you used James guide but your at 79 and you finished the guide. for some reason your not 80, you might of missed a step your probably thinking, well instead of having to go back, pick up some dailies and finish them to get a little bit more extra experience Thanks for reading my leveling tips for world of warcraft. i hoped you liked them and i hope they will help you.Remember these tips are more for the begineers. most of these tips are just common sense, but some people forget what they should commonly do. Thats why i made this guide. Have fun leveling,

This is a pretty good guide,
This is a pretty good guide, I do have a couple of points of criticism for you though, don't worry they're easy-going
It looks rather basic, I know there isn't a great deal that can be done with this in terms of it's appearence however though so this is fine. If you want to though you could add a couple of things that would improve the appearence of this and therefore improve the overall quality of the guide and any future guides you write. Check out Jame's Guide Writing Guide for some helpful tricks.
One think I thing new memebrs to this community don't take into consideration is just how many guides we have right now on various subjects, and multiple guides covering the same subject. I've just counted 6 (including this one) guides on leveling tips. We have started condensing these guides down into a WIKI however so that they are all in one place. Maybe just check out to see what we have already before writing a guide?
I will say though that these tips are very good and will help others no-end, and I commend your efforts
If you would like these to be added to the existing WIKI just say so and they will be.
Hopefully we'll see more contributions from yourself in the future.

Some points are pretty nice
Some points are pretty nice (although many are common sense, but common sense isn't very common in WoW). I do have to disagree with a few points, though.
3. Taking every quest you can get your hands on isn't necessarily a good idea. Jame often skips over accepting quests in his guides until it's necessary to take them; I believe this is so if you want to go off the beaten path to a dungeon or something, you'll have quest log room without having to abandon things, as abandoning quests makes it hard to get back on track later.
4. As was said before, there are already addons here that are much better than those, recommending another addon over WoW-Pro's is sorta counter-productive.
6. Well, pretty much every race will be at least level 2 before finishing their first quest anyway, it takes only 8 kills at level 1 to hit level 2.
7. Worrying about professions can be very effective while leveling. Dual-gathering can easily get you your epic ground and epic flyer as soon as you hit level 60/70 (and you don't have a high level main who just has 6000 gold to burn when you hit 70). Crafting professions on the other hand aren't really worth it while leveling.

ya i understand.
Ya i understand but by the way i made this guide before the addon was released. Like 20 weeks ago. just didn't display right.

Point 7 - Definitely! That's
Point 7 - Definitely! That's how Mokrana has so much good gear and her mount. While leveling it's a *complete* waste not to pick up skinning, since you can skin mobs without any downtime. Picking up Herbalism or Mining is also great - usually there's still not much wasted time and they are great money-makers.

Alright, so first of all let
Alright, so first of all let me say that it's always nice to see new members contributing.
That said, I believe this guide is entirely unnecessary. Nilz recently posted a leveling "tips" wiki. You should add any tips that you have here, which are not represented in that wiki already, to the wiki instead of making a new guide. Having multiple guides, especially of simple lists of tips like this, is not good. Combining them is much better for the community knowledge as a whole.
Also, when you post guides, please be sure to check your grammar/punctuation. Yours is not as bad as some I've seen, but you are missing a lot of capitalization.
Still, like I said, I appreciate that you are trying to contribute to the community. I hope you remain an active member!

I agree with Jiyambi, it's
I agree with Jiyambi, it's nice to see lots of new people and guides here!
I also agree with most of the points that you have made, however on point 4, you say use addons like questhelper and cartographer. Thats all very well, but we have a superior addon on this website which will also point you where to go.
When you are pointing out where to get addons, do not advise people to use WoWMatrix, there are a lot of problems with it and addon authors hate it. Also instead of generally saying 'go to the many main large communities which distribute these addons' point them directly where to go with links such as 'download the addon here'.
If you need a hand with any coding send me a message and I'll be glad to help.

Actually I think WoWMatrix
Actually I think WoWMatrix is running itself a little differently these days, in terms of hosting addons on its own servers instead of stealing bandwidth, but I'm not sure.

WoWMatrix
Ah ok, I've just avoided it like the plague since it came out that it was stealing bandwidth and not giving authors enough credit. Fair play to them though if they are trying to clean up their act.

WoWMatrix are trying to
WoWMatrix are trying to clean up their act big-time... It's the bug guns like Curse and WoWInterface that shit all over everyone else.
I'll redirect you to these pages:
This
and This
and maybe This too
Also, I know that Curse and WoWInterfaces clients won't remove any addons included in their clients (Curse and Minion repectively) unless the addon gets deleted from their site totally, and even then they do also still link to them from another source sometimes. I know one author personally who has been using WoWInterface for a few years and didn't want anything to do with Curse... Yet they fed aload of bullshit when asked to remove his addons from their client.
And I know Jame didn't want his addons on any of these 'updaters' right now, I'm not sure about in the future though I would recommend it. And it shouldn't be on Minion so he himself will need to get intouch with the right people and ask them to remove it.
From personal experience with each client, WoWMAtrix is by far the easiest to use, though with Curse and WoWInterface blocking them, you have to go directly to their sites to update those addons.
Kinda sucks but hey.
Just my 2 copper.

i loved wow matrix
ya it was the easiest. minion is fine but come on. They say they want to help the community, but they didnt when they shut it down. Besides, they could just make it that they wowmatrix would have links to the site and maybe some ads for them. like you said it sucks but i guess the world of warcraft ui life just goes on.

That would work for most
That would work for most sites, but it would still be bad for ours. The main reason is that people would no longer come to WoW-Pro to update their addon, and no longer check out the other non-addon guides here. So it's not just a money/add issue - we need site traffic for community reasons.

Agree'd Jiyambi, I withdraw
Agree'd Jiyambi, I withdraw my previous statement then - sometimes it can be good, but it can also harm a community.
Mind I know WoWMatrix will put adds up in their program if asked for and a deal is set so that could be a possible solution. Then again, I'm not Jame and I don't know the complete ins-and-outs of how WoW-Pro works lol It's his personal decision at the end of the day

I've just checked the
I've just checked the WoWInterface site and can't find it anywhere. My Minion isn't working atm (the joys of BETA...) so can't check tehre. But I can say it's not up on WoWInterface, whether it was and it's been removed though I can't say.
