| A Brief Guide on How to Level as Feral
3 Average: 3 (1 vote) Contents 1) The point of this guide is to give you an idea on how a feral druid should level and give you a spec to shoot for leveling. 2) Feral is the fastest leveling spec and also a druid's tanking spec. Feral focuses on enhancing your "animal" forms. Whether it be improving stats or adding new abilities. Feral druids are in demand through out the game due to their high armor, health, and their ability to tank. 3a) There are two specs that I would suggest for leveling. Both are viable specs for it and each has their strengths. Spec # 1 is a tanking spec while Spec # 2 is meant for cat form dps. Meaning it is not suitable for tanking, just a warning. 3b) Spec # 1 (Use points in this order) 3c) Spec # 2 (Use points in this order) 4a) 4b) Level 32-35 Level 36-49 Level 50-73 *Use until you have 5 combo points. Level 74-80 * Use until you have 5 combo points. 4c) Berserk - Reduces the energy cost of your feral abilities by 50%. Use this ability whenever it is up. Tiger's Fury - Increases damage for 6 seconds. Use it whenever it is up. Nature's Grasp - If your low on health and need to get away from a mob, activate this and the enemy's next attack will cause them to be affected by Entangling Roots, allowing you to run away and heal.

Guidance on Feral Build
Can guidance be given on how to build a feral duid beyond talent acquisition in the post 3.1 environment?
Example:
Level 1 - 9 is caster, no talents and the rotation is:
Level 10 - 20 bear,
5/5 Ferocity
2/2 Savage Fury
3/3 Feral Instinct
look for items with strength > staminia > agility
Rotation is: Claw*/Rip (as above)
Level 21 - 30 cat.
Talent :
3/3 Sharpened Claws
2/2 Feral Swiftness
2/2 Primal Fury
3/3 Predatory Strikes
look for item with ...
PvE Rotation in cat should be for single enemy:
PvE Rotation in cat should be for multiple enemies:
If you use bear, PvE rotation should be:
Something like this would be helpful for us when trying out feral druids for the first time. I am assuming that the differnt forms have different strenghts and the skills to take full advantage are played differently at different levels and situations.
Thank You
Is it me?..
I tried not to mess up modelling spec #1 in Talent Calculator, but when I get to Intensity, last talent in the build, it turns out that I already spent 71 points. And simple summing up (twice) of points in your post gives 72. This is too much even for wotlk
Build that I can get:

Am I right or am I right or is something wrong with me?
Corrected
Fixed, my bad added them up wrong.
Improved rotation

If you have feral charge then you can feral charge while stealhed putting you behind the target and it won't break stealth, then pounce. While you are back there do some shreds, once the guy is no longer stunned throw in a rake, the dot damage of rake is really good now.
At lvl 75 you get an ability called savage roar. That is a huge ability. Its a +40% attack power for a duration determined by the combo points. this should always be up.
Well Thought
I agree with the first half of your claims. Just added when to use feral charge in a new section at the bottom of the guide.
As for savage roar, it does use combo points and I'm two level shy right now of being able to use it. When I do get it though I will start testing it to see whether its a big help. As for now, I'm not commenting on an ability I've never used before.
Well the thing about the new
Well the thing about the new feral rotation is that there are so many things that are viable now its almost situational with any plan. For example I mainly use SR when I have to kill a lot of mobs. I load up the combo points, hit TF if Im out of energy then hit a full SR, that gives me over 30 seconds of increased attack power, I can then down a couple of mobs before having to put up SR again. If I only have to kill one or a few mobs then I'll probalby just mangle rake mangle mangle FB

Good work with this
Good work with this guide.
Some better formatting would be helpful, see Jame's Guide Writing Guide.
Your talents are well explained, it s basically the build I used while leveling Feral, except it is more viable after berserk to sub spec into the Restoration tree and pick up these 16 talents.
Listing good spell rotations is a great assist for any leveling druid.
I spent my early 50's spamming Mangle, but found (now at level 70, about to move onto WotlK) there are some more viable ways of fighting. Try to include rake (now with a massive increased dps boost, esp. with glyphs!), using you're two new daze moves while dots are ticking to push them to maximum damage then using Shred when Mangle is about to expire and the new and improved Tigers Fury.
More information, about gear especially would be a great. If you would like any assistance with this guide, don't hesitate to PM me.
I will
I didn't post this in the guide but this is a work in progress. I wrote this up to give a brief guide for how to level. As I get more time I will continue to update with new information and getting more in depth with the class and spec.
