Introduction

This guide is made for FAST leveling through the use of Optimized Quest Circuits. With this guide, questing will be very efficient and you’ll not waste any second running around and trying to figure out in which order to do your quests. Follow each instruction carefully and you will see for yourself. The quest choices and order to do them are optimal so that you run as few as possible while doing the most possible, turning several quests at the same time. It will be like grinding, because you’ll be killing stuff almost non-stop, besides you’ll also be completing a bunch of quests at the same time!

Everything described in this guide can be done solo (beside when I say otherwise). You can, of course, follow this guide while duoing, grouping, it’s not a problem, it works too.

DISCLAIMER: This guide does NOT take into account tradeskills, class specific quests or PvP. It’s 100% focused on getting the most experience possible in the shortest possible time while doing a lot of quests and enjoying as much content as possible. Any race/class combination can do this guide. Any complaints about PvP, tradeskills, or class specific issues will be ignored.

Basic rules

* Spend your talent points so that you kill things as fast as possible. (e.g: Priest should specialize in Shadow Talents, Warriors in Arms/Fury, etc.

* Don’t waste your time trying to find groups for questing, you can solo everything that is described in this guide unless I say otherwise. Only group with someone when it’s not gonna be a waste of time (e.g: meeting the person at the other end of the zone to show him the way to where your quest is, that is a waste of time)

* Try to always log out in an inn or in one of the major cities when you take a break.

Useful Addons

To get the most out of my guide, you should get an addon which displays coordinates, because I use them to describe locations in my guide (x,y). You can use any addon you like, but here’s a very simple one I use.

Recommended

DMiniCoords– A simple box which displays coordinates, left-click it to move it where you like.

Optional
Below is a list of other addons I use, this is 100% optional though, it’s mostly for people who are curious to know which addons I use:

*Bartender4 – A great action bar addon.

*X-Perl UnitFrames – Very nice, highly customizable unit frames.

*Quartz – The best casting bar addon out there, imo.

*Scrolling Combat Text – I just don’t like the default UI Floating Combat Text.

Side Note: In case you don’t know how to install add-ons, simply download an addon from one of the links above and unzip it. Then drag the unzipped folder in your Addon folder (full path is c:Program FilesWorld of WarcraftInterfaceAddons). Then, restart World of Warcraft and it should be working.

If it isn’t working, you might need to log out to your character selection screen and click on “Addons” in the lower-left corner. Tick the box that says “Load out of date Addons”. Re-launch WoW.

-Kostada

Please note this is a reformatted version of Taralom’s Night Elf guide. I found that the formatting in that was somewhat confusing, and turn-ins etc. were off some. All credit goes to him.

Also, all props go to Jame for the introduction and for how the guide is set up.

I did not read your otherI did not read your other comment before I posted that comment, but I was not being sarcastic in any way, shape, or form. Mine lacks some things that your undead guide and (no doubt) your night elf guide will have. And, as Jame as said, I agree with him. Your guide will get the appreciation it deserves.

Nuh-uh. Your guide will beNuh-uh. Your guide will be appreciated just as much, don’t worry. And if the circuits are better, it will end up being the one on top of the lists and I’ll also recommend this one for the addon version.

    Definitely wasn’t aDefinitely wasn’t a sarcasm.

I saw your first guide and I was very impressed. That’s why I’m sure your Night Elf guide will be better than Taralom’s. 🙂

ps: If you read this Taralom, don’t get me wrong, your guide was lovely, but it was written a long time ago and things have evolved here, and we want to keep on improving the quality.

I´ve been more careful withI take it that wasn’t sarcasm? I´ve been more careful with the drafts this time than when I did the Tirisfal Glades guide, so I garantee that as far as quest circuits go, it’s very efficient. I wouldn’t make that statement unless I believed it. Teldrassil is a difficult zone since there are quests spread out across all of it and a lot of running to prepare follow ups etc. I think I changed the order of quests 4-5 times and tested it before I found what should be the fastest way. That’s why it’s still not complete after these 2-3 weeks. The fact that I got annoyed by this guide (even though Kostada has done a very good job with it) is because I think mine won’t be as appreciated because of it. “Another Night Elf Guide? Oh well…”

If I sound too much like a dick now, I apologize.

*sigh* No need for sarcasm.*sigh* No need for sarcasm. I already said you did a good job with this revamp. I just think mine won’t be as appreciated now because this one has been made (which is a shame because of the effort I have put into writing it). Mine feels like such a waste of time now. I will upload it tonight anyway so feel free to be sarcastic in that comment field as well.

  • img
    Jan 19, 2009 @ 18:24 pm

Well, you also need to takeWell, you also need to take into account that this is just a revamp – I doubt ANYTHING I write is better than anything you could write.

It’s ok, some people willIt’s ok, some people will still want to use Taralom’s guide, even if yours is better, just because they know it and have already tried it.

However, I’ll make sure yours get the promotion it deserves so that people tend to pick it over taralom’s, since as you said, yours will be better. (And I trust it will)

I´ve been working on aI´ve been working on a Teldrassil guide for a while already. I suggest you check the Needed Guides page in the future to see if anyone is already working on the guide you’re about to write.

I will go ahead and post my guide anyway because it has completely new planned, tested and written circuits which are faster than Taralom’s which you are rewamping here. However, I´m still kind of annoyed that you decided to rewamp a guide which has already been in progress for over two weeks and is mentioned in the Needed Guides link.

This is something I am doingThis is something I am doing right now, while testing it on an alt to notice any mistakes/etc. I know about maps, but gimp does not seem to agree with me on editting. I have finished bolding quest givers and rotations, and am working on quests and items. If you know of a GOOD editter for maps, etc, please tell me.

Comment me on my blog. http://kostada.blogspot.com/

Hey Kostada, I’m glad youHey Kostada, I’m glad you decided to revmap Taralom’s guide, because it’s definitely one of our 1-12 guides which needs it the most 🙂

However, sadly, so far this is not much of an upgrade in terms of text formatting.

    1. Some of the colors are too bright and hurt the eyes.

Use this color code and you can’t go wrong:

Quests | color=#cc9933 + bold

Items | color=#993300

Locations | color=#33cc00

Quest objectives to kill | bold

NPCs | color=#4169e1

Locs | italic
2. The biggest thing which was lacking in Taralom’s guide was that there was no maps. So it’s definetely something you should try to implement.

colorsGreat work, I’d just suggest to change the colors of the names.
They are really bright and hurt my eyes 🙂
