4.5 Average: 4.5 (4 votes) The Nexus is a 5-man instance located in Borean tundra (coldarra) in northrend. To get to Coldarra you will need to complete the quests in Amber ledge, if you start leveling in level 70 in borean tundra you will get to coldarra in the end of level 70 or level 71. There is alot of good quest in Coldarra. The Nexus will be one of the first instances you will meet in the new Northrend. The Nexus is very useful of the large amount of exp. and quest reward. When you have done the instance and complete the quests listen below, you will get around 5 superier item and alot of exp. LEVEL RANGE
QUESTS
Keristrasza Bait and Switch Saragosa's End Mustering the Reds Springing the Trap and finally you get the one you need.
All these quests can be soloed in Coldarra And you will automatic get them if you quest through Coldarra. GROUP
Okay, now to the instance! The Nexus PART 1
Keep following the red line and remember to turn right into Ormorok the tree-shaper (boss).
Strategy Gauntlets of Serpent Scales When you have done the boss go to the edge of the platform and right click on Interdimensional Refabricator. You should now have completed [Postponing the inevitable]. PART 3 Now follow the red line back again and take the line to left. Grind you way until you have pased The rift and are inside at the palace again. MOB LIST
Fight you way down to the boss. NOTE: Kill the patrol that patrols at the passage.
Strategy: Insulating Bindings Quote:
he strategy for Grand Magus Telestra is depending on your group setup. I usualy just have the tank tanking her were she stands and dps nuking her at start. When she split either you Crowd Control or nuke the frost one first (The blizzard hurts and healer will get out of mana quickly) then the fire one and last arcane. If your healer at this point is running low on mana. Don't kill last add just keep the arcane part tanked / CCd and let healer regain enough mana to make it through the fight. PART 4
COMMANDER STOUTBEARD / COMMANDER KOLURG (only exist in heroic)
he will drop one of these: Emblem of Heroism Cleric's Linen Shoes Grips of Sculptured Icicles Opposed Stasis Leggings Cloak of the Enemy When you have cleared the area remember to lot this: PART 5
Strategy: [Prisoner of War]you will automatic get this quest completed when you killed the boss. Hope you enjoy my guide ![]() you can also see: Eric's Magtheridon's Lair guide ...'**Eric**'...

Thank you for noticing
Emphasizing how normal versus heroics impacts
I really think these notes are great. I wish I had them before I first ran these.
Just a thought and you do not have to do it but....
It would be nice to see details on the 'Heroic' versus 'Normal' dungeon runs. I am having problems tanking some heroic instances and some tips at the more difficult level would be fantastic (possibly macros to use also). I did see a couple mentions on heroics but more detail would be nice. My suggestion would be to possibly add "Heroics Note (or Tip): with tips and notes notes notes" at the bottom of each guideline. That would be great.
Level 66 Hunter tag along
Not sure if this helps but when my guild did Nexus, we had a level 66 Hunter tag along with a level 63 pet; as I see the min. requirement is 70 but not sure if these levels helped in our group: Level 70 Pally, Level 77 Hunter x2 and forgot what level restro druid we had but I know he's a higher level than the Pally.
And yes we did complete the instance with a few wipes and I didn't do any questlines.

A useful macro for your guide
Very nice guide. Hopefully a small macro might make it into it.
At the Anomalus fight, you have to worry about the Chaotic Rifts that are opened by him. They are not always easy to find, and when you are fighting him in heroic level, they open up at a surprisingly rapid rate. Something my guild uses is a target macro for those rifts. It's fairly simple as well...
/tar Chaotic Rift
That's pretty much it. What this will do is give you a quick target button so everyone can switch targets in order to take these nuisances down quickly. For casters, you could also put /stopcast before it to save your mana and spell cooldowns from being wasted on Anomalus while he is immune from damage.

Oops, forgot something else.
On the Keristrasza fight, I found it best to have all group members jump to get rid of the debuff. My group wiped on this fight twice before we realized we all should jump. Then it was no problem.
as a mage, healer , tank
I've done this fight lots of times (as mage, priest and Deathknight) and think it's better to just strafe ( normal keys: Q and E) than jump since as caster you lose some of your dps and as a tank you can just continue to strafe through the battle about 1 yard left then 1 yard right.
But I think this is a very personal thing depending on class / playstyle / gear and so on.

Character level for Nexus quests
You said that the Nexus quests are grey at 76. I did them at level 78, and they still showed up as green for me.
Strategy
The strategy for Grand Magus Telestra is depending on your group setup. I usualy just have the tank tanking her were she stands and dps nuking her at start. When she split either you Crowd Control or nuke the frost one first (The blizzard hurts and healer will get out of mana quickly) then the fire one and last arcane. If your healer at this point is running low on mana. Don't kill last add just keep the arcane part tanked / CCd and let healer regain enough mana to make it through the fight.
this is just one of the endless stream of tactics for her and I don't say this is the best just that it never failed me before.
And you might want to change the drop on: COMMANDER STOUTBEARD / COMMANDER KOLURG
so that it say that the Emblem of Heroism always drop along with one of the other items.

Looking good! A few typos
This is looking good, glad to see some instance guides going up
A few typos:
"if you have completed all quests in Coldarra, skib this part"
Should be "skip"
"[have they no shame?] this quest starts from Nuts for Berries given by Librarian Serrah at the Transitus Shield. Then you get Keep the Secret Safe. "
"Have they no shame" should be capitalized.
You might also want to link the main isntance quests, you only linked to their pre-reqs. You can keep your formatting inside the link, just make sure the [ url ] [ /url ] tags are outside the formatting tags
One other note: it probably depends on the group, but I healed Nexus just fine and I had only around 750 bonus healing, for several different tanks and DPS combinations. So you can probably lower the recommended bonus healing

This is looking good! I saw
This is looking good! I saw that you took my suggestion for the links, very nice. One other thing - I noticed in a few places you forgot to capitalize your first word in a sentance. Otherwise good formatting and definitely good info. Thanks for making this!
Healing
Well the healing needed is quite hard to set, since it depends on what class the healer is and same for the tank, What buffs you got and so on. So to lower the healing needed might be wrong but say that you need maybe 750-900 would work great since more than 900 shouldn't be needed since me as holy priest (level 70) had some problems keeping tank up in full kara epic gear.

i agree with the healing is
i agree with the healing is a little high, but it depends on the groups gear. If you got a high dps or maybe a imba tank you don't need the high spell damage and mana, And if the tank only got the minimum or maybe lower, you will need these req.
