Installation:

Hey guys, I think you mightHey guys, I think you might find this useful:

    Quote from Sockenfresser

This addon solution is great! But for users of other client languages it doesn’t work perfectly. For instance locations outside the current zone and quests in the NPCs quest window are not recognized correctly.

So I decided to write a little open source program, that assists the translation of addon guides.I created a project page on codeplex (http://wowtgtranslator.codeplex.com/) so please try it out.

IMPORTANT! You need the .net Framework 3.5 SP1 to run this program!

The tool gets the quest, NPC and item translations from wowhead. And it has direct integration of wowhead and leo.org for the manual translation of the notes (other sites can be configured in the .config file). Because of the use of wowhead it supports automatic translations to the wowhead languages (de, fr, ru, es) only.

All translated texts are saved locally, so if the english guide changes a bit, you will only have to translate the changed part. The rest is still saved locally.

If you need any help or want to give feedback, just PM me.

That sounds realy cool. That sounds realy cool. Unfortunately i didn’t have time to test your programm yet. But if it works like described, translating those guides in TouGuide-Format will be a doddle!

Verzögerung.Leider habe ich gerade wenig Zeit um weiter an den Guides zu arbeiten.
Mitte/Ende April werde ich dann Terrokar und Nagrand angehen.
Bis dahin würde ich mich noch über ein wenig Feedback zu den schon feritgen Teilen Höllenfeuerhalbinsel und Zangarmarschen freuen!

Tool for TourGuide translationsHi there, maybe I got an interesting thing for you. I was tired of the english guides and tekkub the author of TourGuide was not willing to support translations of for instance location names in TourGuide itself. So I decided to write a little program that assists you translating guides. I created a project page on codeplex (http://wowtgtranslator.codeplex.com/) so try it out. (You will have to install .net because I’m a .net developer 😉 ) It gets the quest and item translations from wowhead. And it assists you with direct integration of wowhead and leo for the rest.

Please give me feedback because I want to improve it.

Well, it’s a lot of fun,Well, it’s a lot of fun, translating these guides, so i don’t mind working on some updates in the future. BTW, by working on the translation, i found several minor mistakes in the original guides, so i hope my work will help to improve the quality of the originals a little bit.
In fact i just wanted to test if TourGuide works with the german client of WoW too. Sadly my paladin needs a few more days to lvl 60 to test my guide myself so i decided on publishing this guide (and the following ones) under “needs testing”-status.

So go on people. Get your twinks to lvl60 and start to play the german client!^^

    Good idea!

    A suggestionGood idea!

A suggestion though. Maybe you should wait until the sections are 100% quality before you start working on a German version, or you will have to do a big update in the future.
