WoW-Pro Blogs

A WoW-Pro blog is a blog full of useful, WoW-related information published by members of the WoW-Pro community. These blogs may cover specific subjects or a wide range of information. Often these blogs contain "mini-guides" - bits of information not suitable for a full-length guide.

This page will contain discussion relating to WoW-Pro blogs and how they will be set up on this site.

WoW-Pro Addon: Big decision - Please read

After discussing it with Jahwo and giving it a lot of thinking, we decided to stop working on two addons at the same time. Thus, we'll stop working on the WoW-Pro Custom addon, and will concentrate our efforts only on the TourGuide version from now on.

I apologize to all those who worked hard on Jahwo's addon, it makes me really sad to have to abandon it now, but it's for the best.

New Feature: Watch List

WoW-Pro now has a watch list feature!

Basically, if you don't want to miss any changes or new comments made on a guide, simply click on the "Watch this post" icon at the bottom of the guide, which looks like this:

All you have to do is click this link and the guide will be added to your watch list. You can access your watch list from the right-side by clicking "My Watched Posts".

This feature is only available to registered wow-pro users.

Enjoy!

The Forums are back!

The forums are back. I've cleaned them up, mostly because of a technical reason, but also because all the topics were outdated anyway.

So we'll have a fresh starts with the forums Eye

You can access them from the top menu.

I've already created a couple of forum topics and I encourage everyone to participate:

Needed Guides and other news

Hey guys, just a quick news post to announce what's coming up on wow-pro!

  • I'm cleaning up the whole site. Outdated guides are being unpublished. More about this in my latest blog article.
  • The Needed Guides list is now a wiki page, which means that every registered user can help to keep it up to date. This will help tremendously.
  • A new theme is being designed for the site. It looks very promising, the site will look ten times better and it will also come with new cool features

Two New Features added to the site: Buddy List & My Latest Visitors

Two new cool features were just added to WoW-Pro!

1. Buddy List

A simple friend list. You can add a buddy by visiting a user's profile page and this way it will be very easy to send them private messages and to check what they've been posting lately.

2. My Latest Visitors

This will tell you how many users visited your profile, and who visited your profile recently. You will see this feature displayed on the right-side menu.

Congratulations to Jiyambi - WoW-Pro's first Exalted Member!

It was a very fierce race between Shikamaru, Souricette and Jiyambi for the first to reach 100 Karma Points.

But in the end Jiyambi beat them to the finish and became the first WoW-Pro member to reach the status of Exalted!

And with that, I'd like to introduce you to a new feature available on wow-pro:

Guide system simplified

Short announcement to all guide writers, the following change has been made:

Drafts no longer exists. They have been replaced by "Work in Progress".

That means that when your guide has the status of "Work in Progress", only you and the admins can see it.

Once you change the status of your guide to "Finished", it finally becomes published and everyone can see it.

This is to encourage people to publish guides in a more polished state, because sadly, we get a lot of guides on the front page which could barely be called drafts, and I want to change that.

We want a higher level of quality for guides and that's the first step in this direction.
