Northrend Dailies: Alliance Leveling Guide

Please note that these are the Alliance side dailies. Unfortunately I do not have a horde character high enough to let me into Northrend. I apologize to the hordies out there. However, some of these can be done by the horde as well but their respective quest givers will be different.

What follows is the start of an Alliance dedicated guide to dailies in Northrend. Each of these dailies will grant you approximately 20k experience and 5 gold pre-80, as well as reputation with the various factions in Northrend. Since most of them require little to no killing, they will not ruin your rest xp bonus. Also, they only take a couple of minutes to complete, making this a fast way to gain some bonus xp while leveling.

Not all of these quests are available immediately. Some are part of quest chains that must be completed in order to acquire them. However, as you quest you will unlock these dailies, especially if you are following Jame's guides for Northrend. Finally, PvP and dungeon dailies will not be included at this point, as not everyone wishes to participate in PvP and dungeon dailies will be available at level 80 and should be easy enough to find.

One thing to note: As you gain levels, lower level quests will begin to give less experience when they are turned in. While this may be seen as a bad thing, the first drop only lowers the xp amount by 4k. I will make notes next to the quests when the xp amounts begin to fall off.

Dalaran

First, you must have access to Dalaran in order to pick up these dailies. They are relatively simple and can be completed during the time you are working on the rest of your dailies. However, if you do not have access or do not have the professions involved, these can be skipped in favor of the rest. Consider them optional.

Cooking Dailies - (requires 375 Cooking, +150 Kirin Tor)

Each day you can pick up one of the following dailies at A Hero's Welcome from Katherine Lee. When you complete these, you'll receive a cooking award as well as a bag of spices. The award is currency for new recipes and such, and the bag of spices contains... well... spices. It also might contain other goodies as well.

Also, by completing each of the following quests at least once, you will gain access to the Our Daily Bread achievement.

Jewelcrafting Dailies - (Requires 375 Jewelcrafting, +75 Kirin Tor)

Jewelcrafters get their own line of dailies in Dalaran. By visiting Timothy Jones in Piffany & Co. and completing the quest Finish the Shipment, you will be able to start working on daily shipment requests for extra gold, experience and jewelcrafting tokens. These tokens allow you to buy special recipes in the shop as well as Dragon Stones, gems that can make some pretty powerful and interesting jewels.

The order shown below is based on using Dalaran as a starting point and the idea that you are following Jame's Northrend guides. This way, you will be able to complete the quests quickly and in a repeatable order each time. If you do not have a specific quest mentioned below, simply skip that step and move to the next one.

Borean Tundra (Levels 68-72)

Borean Tundra is the best place to start dailies, and it is best to start in the farthest reaches, Coldarra.

1. Fly to Coldarra, pick up Drake Hunt, and head to the area around 23, 26. Capture a drake, mount up and avoid as much combat as possible on the return trip.

2. When you have completed Drake hunt, fly to Une'pe and head south to Kaskala for Preparing for the Worst. The boxes are scattered all around the area and you should be able to reach several without too much of a fight. Be careful though, as there are the occasional raiders that will come after you. Once finished, head back north to Une'pe and fly to Kamagua in Howling Fjord.

Howling Fjord (Levels 68-72)

1. After landing in Kamagua, pick up The Way to His Heart and the head east across the island. When you get to the edge of the island, you will find the Reef Cows sitting on rocks. Across the water will be the Reef Bulls. Before you can get them together, you need to capture Tasty Reef Fish. There are several sparkling points where you can catch the fish with the net supplied by Anuniaq. Capture at least 8 or 9 (12 is best), then put them on a hot bar and go to where the reef bulls sit. Throw a fish to a bull, walk towards the cows, and repeat whenever the bull stops moving. Keep doing this until the bull and cow find 'true love'. When they do, turn in the quest and head to Westguard keep.

2. In Westguard Keep, pick up Breaking the Blockade and step onto the zeppelin. If there are others doing the quest, group up with them as it will make this much easier, as you will not be fighting for kills. If no one else is available, make sure you stand on the nose of the blimp. I recommend putting the bombs on a hot-button since you have to aim with the mouse. Get all the kills needed and turn in the quest when the zeppelin docks. Once this is done, head to the Steel Gate dig site by heading out the north entrance.

3. Pick up Steel Gate Patrol and jump into a steam plane for one of the most fun dailies I've seen. You'll have a new bar with four buttons on it.

  1. Machine gun. Press it once and wait for the channel bar to disappear before you press it again.
  2. Missile launcher. Pressing this will halt your machine gun fire, so use it first or when you machine gun has finished firing.
  3. Speed boost. If you find yourself getting swamped with gargoyles, press this for a quick getaway.
  4. Ejector Seat. Let's you leave the vehicle via parachute.

So, jump into a plane, fly into the gargoyles and let the carnage begin! Target a gargoyle and fire away. Your missiles will auto-attack all the gargoyles in front of you, while your machine gun will auto-track a single gargoyle. Best thing to do is blast first with the missiles then let the machine gun channel against a single target until it is dead. Just circle the poor creature until it falls from the sky.

Try to take the ones entering the dig site. If they are already being targeted by a dig defender, you will not get credit for the kill. If you stay near the edge where they fly in, you should have no trouble getting 8 kills quickly. Once you complete the quest, fly back to the chief archaeologist and exit the vehicle. Turn in the quest, head back to Westgate Keep, then fly to Moa'ki Harbor in Dragonblight.

Dragonblight (Levels 71-74)

1. At Moa'ki Harbor, pick up Planning for the Future and head up the road to the Wolver area around 46,62. You'll find the pups in groups of three around huts there. Watch out for the Den Mothers, as they will attack when you attmept to pick up the pups. The area for this is large, and there are several locations with three huts in close proximity, allowing you to grab 9 pups quickly. Once you have 12 pups, head back to Moa'ki, turn in the quest, and fly to Wyrmrest Temple.

2. When you land, talk to Tariolstrasz and get a ride to the second level where you will find Lord Afrasastrasz. Accept the quest and mount one of the dragons just outside the entrance.

You will have six abilities on the while on the dragon:

  1. Fire blast. This is your standard attack while doing this daily. It is a channeled cast, but you do not have to stand still to use it.
  2. Fire Burst. This is a melee ranged attack that applies damage over time to your target. Hit this when close and spam ability 1.
  3. Regrowth. Use this to heal damage to your drake. It has a cooldown and is a Heal over Time spell. It is instacast though, so this helps.
  4. Burst of Speed. This is a 'get the heck out of town' ability Use it when you are swamped with dragons (can usually happen when you attempt to destabilize the Azure Dragonshrine). It also has a cooldown.
  5. Destabilize Dragonshrine. Only one use, and the title describes it.
  6. Leave Vehicle. You must dismount to turn in the quest.

First, use your burst of speed, fly towards the Azure Dragonshrine and dive into it until you hit bottom. Use ability 5, wait until you get the message that says Dragonhrine destabilized, then fly up and out. You may get swamped by the smaller drakes as you leave. 2 fire blasts to each should take them out pretty easily. If you pick up any of the larger dragons, or your dragon is taking too much damage, use ability 4 and fly back to Wyrmrest Temple. By the time you make it back, you should be healed up fairly well and you should begin attacking the larger dragons. Best to zoom in, hit them with the ability 2, then make circles while spamming ability 1. Three blasts with ability should take them down, especially with the DoT ability in effect.

One you have downed 3 of the dragons and 5 drakes, fly back to Afrasastrasz and turn in the quest. If you can complete it in under two minutes, you will be given the Rapid Defense achievement.

Grizzly Hills(Levels 73-75)

I made mentioned that I would not be putting PvP quests into this guide, but below you will find several quests that put you in PvP mode. However, you are not required to PvP, as most of the 'kill' quests say either raiders or players. Note however, that you are PvP flagged while you have these quests in your quest log and for five minutes after you complete them, if you are on a non-PvP server.

The Venture Bay quests gives Venture Coins instead of reputation. These coins can be used at the Alliance Vendor "Grizzly" D Adams located at 13, 86. He has several items of interest for most classes.

I did not put Riding the Red Rocket (PvP) in the list, as it is not a guaranteed daily. Your faction must have control of the lighthouse in order to perform this particular quest. If you have control of the lighthouse, give it a whirl. It is the final piece for the Grizzled Veteran achievement, but don't depend on it for daily grinding.

I am up to Grizzly Hills in my daily grind at this time. With all the above quests, I am grinding 18 dailies in around 2 hours. This equates to around 15% of my experience total at level 78, which is 15% less experience I have to gain from questing on a daily basis and puts me in a good position to hit 80 before I finish all the quests in Grizzly Hills.

As before, I am in the process of updating the guide, so please bear with me as I complete each section.

Northrend Dailies: Faction Grind - Alliance

Introduction

Hello Folks.

I’m trying my hand at another daily quest guide. This time I will attempt to help isolate and group the various quests that can be used to grind rep with the four main factions of Wrath of the Lich King: Argent Crusade, Knights of the Ebon Hold, Kirin Tor, and Wyrmrest Accord. Also include are the Sons of Hodir quests, as they sell the new Lich King shoulder enchants. If you have the cooking and jewelcrafting professions, this grind will burn through your 25 dailies.

This guide assumes a few things.

  1. You are using a level 80 character.
  2. You have access to all of the following quests within the appropriate zones.
If you do not meet these two qualifications, then you still have some questing to do. As with most of the dailies, the following are opened as you complete the various quest lines throughout Northrend. Through the normal course of questing, you should become Friendly with all four main factions at a minimum; most likely you will gain an Honored reputation with them.

Doing the quests listed will grant you the following rewards:

Estimated Gold per Day: 220 gold minimum / 300 gold maximum

Table of Contents

  1. Wyrmrest Accord Quests
  2. Kirin Tor Quests
  3. Argent Crusade Quests
  4. Knights of the Ebon Blade Quests
  5. Sons of Hodir Quests
  6. Grinding Circuits

Wyrmrest Accord
Number of Quests: 3

I’ll start with Wyrmrest, as it has the fewest dailies to choose from. You will not make much money from these either, as only one quest would give full experience at level 80 if you were able to level past the current cap.

Kirin Tor
Number of Quests: Min 2 / Max 4

While Wyrmrest Accord has the least number of dailies to choose from, Kirin Tor has got to be the stingiest group with regards to reputation gain. You can only rely on the profession dailies and dungeon dailies for reputation. If you do not have the profession dailies, you will lose out on 175 Kirin Tor reputation per day. All of these quests can be picked up in Dalaran.

Cooking Dailies from Katherine Lee (+150 Kirin Tor, 9 gold)
Completing all of the following quests at least once will grant you the Our Daily Bread achievement.

Jewelcrafting Dailies from Timothy Jones (+25 Kirin Tor, 13 gold)

The dungeon dailies, both regular and heroic, only grant 75 reputation. As a bonus, regular dailies reward you with a commendation badge for the group of your choice, which can give you another 250 reputation with that faction. It is probably wise to use them for Kirin Tor at first if you are keen to become exalted with them. Something else to consider is to champion Kirin Tor while running level 80 dungeons and heroics, as this is another way to help get through one of the more tedious faction grinds.

If both the heroic and regular dailies are for the same dungeon, they can both be done on Heroic difficulty, allowing a single dungeon run for 150 reputation with the Kirin Tor.

Regular Dailies from Archmage Timear (+75 Kirin Tor, 19 gold)
Completing all of the following quests at least once will grant you the Timear Forsees achievement.

Heroic Dailies from Archmage Lan’dalock (+75 Kirin Tor, 25 gold + 2 Emblems of Heroism)
Completing all of the following quests at least once will guarantee the following three achievements: Proof of Demise, Northrend Dungeonmaster and Northrend Dungeon Hero.

Argent Crusade
Number of Quests: Min 6 / Max 7

The Argent Crusade is the Northrend equivalent to the Argent Dawn of the original game. Their quests are interesting at best, frustrating at worst.

Troll Patrol from Commander Kunz at 40, 67 in Zul'Drak (+350 Argent Crusade, 24 gold)

All of the Troll Patrol quests take place in Zul’Drak. You take the first quest from the commander and receive an additional quest at each of the following locations. The final quest, labeled "Congratulations!", will only be available if you can complete the whole patrol in under 20 minutes. While it offers a boost to your Argent Crusade reputation, if you can complete the maximum number of dailies in each group, it will put you over your 25 daily limit. "Congratulations!" is a nice daily to get, but you should not depend on it in your grind.

Alchemist Finklestein at 35, 52

Captain Grondel at 48, 64

Captain Rupert at 58, 72

Captain Brandon at 49, 79

Optional - Congratulations! from Commander Kunz at 40, 67(+350 Argent, 19 gold)

Slaves to Saronite
from Absalon the Pious on Skybreaker Airship in Icecrown (+250 Argent, 13 gold)

Knights of the Ebon Blade
Number of Quests: 6

The next group is the freed Deathknights at Shadow Vault and those at Death’s Rise near Onslaught Harbor. These quests all take place within Icecrown

Shadow Vault
Leave our Mark from Baron Sliver at 43, 25 (+250 Ebon Hold, 13 gold)
Shoot ‘Em Up from The Leaper at 44, 25 (+250 Ebon Hold, 13 gold)
Vile Like Fire! From Vile at 44, 25 (+250 Ebon Hold, 13 gold)

Death's Rise
From their Corpses, Rise! from Setaal Darkmender at 20, 48 (+250 Ebon Blade, 13 gold)
Intelligence Gathering from Aurochs Grimbane at 20, 48 (+250 Ebon Hold, 13 gold)
No Fly Zone from Uzo Deathcaller at 20, 48 (+250 Ebon Hold, 13 gold)

Sons of Hodir
Number of Quests: 3 min / 6 max

The final group is the Sons of Hodir, a race of giants that you become friendly with through a quest chain that begins with the quest They Took Our Men! at K3 in Storm Peaks. All quests are within the Storm Peaks zone. The quests come in stages as follows:

Friendly
Blowing Hodir’s Horn from Hodir's Horn at 64, 64 (+250 Hodir, 13 gold)
Hot and Cold from Fjorn's Anvil at 63, 63 (+250 Hodir, 13 gold)
Polishing the Helm from Hodir's Helm at 65, 60 (+250 Hodir, 13 gold)

Honored
Spy Hunter from Frostworg Denmother at 64, 60 (+350 Hodir, 13 gold)
Thrusting Hodir’s Spear from Hodir's Spear at 65, 60 (+500 Hodir, 16 gold)

Revered
Feeding Arngrim from Arngrim the Insatiable at 67, 60 (+350 Hodir, 13 gold)

Recommended Grinding Circuit

What follows is a basic grinding circuit. More detailed explanations and possible maps forthcoming.

Dalaran

Set hearth to Dalaran if not already set. While there, pick up the cooking and jewelcrafting dailies if you can. Fly from Dalaran to Dun Niffleheim in Storm Peaks.

Storm Peaks

In Dun Niffleheim, pick up the Sons of Hodir quests that are available to you. The order I place the quests below will allow those who do not have all of the quests to run the circuit easily and add the other quests into it as they become available. I will seperate the quests into reputation in order to make it easier on those who have not reached certain plateaus.

Friendly

1. Fly to 70, 60 and begin killing Brittle Revenants that roam the lake until you have five Essence of Ice. Once you have these, move them to your hot bar and fly to 77, 63. On the ground, you will find black spike sticking from the snow. Click the Essence of Ice and you will throw one of your stock onto the spike. It will form ice around it and become clickable. Click this to get a metal scrap. Do this four more times to complete Hot and Cold.

2. Move Hodir's Horn to your hot bar and fly to Thunderfall at 71, 49. Here you will find the NPC's you need to kill to complete Blowing Hodir's Horn. Kill five each of Forefather giants and Frostborn dwarves. After killing and looting the bodies, select the corpse and use Hodir's Horn to send them on their way.

3. Fly to 55, 63 and enter the cave there. Inside, you will find Vicious Oils as well as Ravenous Jormungers. The drop rate on Vicious Oils is 100%, so you only need to kill 5 of the slimes to complete Polishing the Helm. Once you have done this, head out of the cave for the next step

Honored

4. Head to 57, 62 and find the body of a dead frostworg. Put your Ethereal Worg's Fang in your hot bar and click it. Select the ethereal worg that appears so you can easily keep up with your gardian. They roam for quite a bit before finding their prey and with multiple people working from the same place, if you do not do this, you may lose your worg. When he howls, he will have found an infiltrator. Kill the Dark Iron Dwarf, head back to the worg corpse, and repeat twice more to complete Spy Hunter.

5. Fly to 61, 63 and settle on one of the low lying peaks there. Watch for the Wild Wyrms flying by there. Place Hodir's Spear on your hot bar and select a target. When it flies close enough, click on your spear and prepare for the ride of your life as the Wyrm swoops towards you and lifts you into the air with it.

You will have a new bar available to you that will have different skills on it depending on the "Phase". You must get the dragon to 25% of its health in Phase 1 to enter Phase 2. This is where you will kill the monster. There is no 'exit vehicle' button this time; it is you and the dragon and one of you will die.

During the first phase you will be hanging onto the dragon's belly and will have four buttons:

  1. Grab On - Tightens your grip by 10. Grip is essential to your success and if this drops to 0, you will fall to your death.
  2. Dodge Claws - Gives you a dodge buff for 2 secs in order to stay away from the dragon's claws.
  3. Thrust Spear - Will thrust the spear for a small amount of damage. Costs 5 grip
  4. Mighty Spear Thrust - Will thrust the spear for major damage. Costs 15 grip and has a 10 second cooldown.

As soon as you are picked up, begin spamming ability 1. You need to get as much grip as you can to stay on the dragon. The alternative is not healthy for your character. In quick order the dragon will try to swipe at you with its claws. As soon as you get the warning, use ability 2, then hit 4 for a mighty thrust. Begin spamming button one again, hitting 2 as soon as the dragon begins to swipe at you. If ability 4 is off cooldown, use it immediately after you dodge. If it is not, use ability 3 then spam ability 1 until you see another warning to dodge. By this time, ability 4 should be ready again, so use it again. Remember to spam ability 1 as much as you can. Pretty much do this until you hit phase 2.

When the dragon reaches 25% of its health, it will grab you with its mouth and begin the second phase. During this stage, you will only have 2 buttons and will be taking constant damage:

  1. Pry Jaws Open -Each time this is used, it opens the jaws of the dragon 5 degrees adding 5% to the chance that Fatal Strike will kill the dragon. Will stack 20 times.
  2. Fatal Strike - Thrust the spear into the jaws of the dragon, killing it instantly. Chance for this to work is 0% at the beginning, increasing with each use of Pry Jaws.

When you move to the dragon's mouth, begin spamming button 1 every time it comes up. Do this ten times at a minimum. Once you count ten, press button 2. This should kill the dragon, plummeting both you and the creature to the ground. You will jump out of it's mouth just as you hit the ground.

Killing the dragon will complete Thrusting Hodir’s Spear.

Revered

6. Fly back to 57, 62 and look for Roaming Jormungers. Target one, use Arngrim's Tooth on it and it will become disembodied. Attack it until it gets to around 25% health. At this time it will become disoriented and Arngrim's ghost will appear. He will grab the Jormunger and eat it. Do this four more times to complete Feeding Arngrim.

Jewelcrafting dailies in this area:

  • Bright Armor Relic - An Elemental Armor Scrap can fall from the Brittle Revenants or Searing Revenants engaged during Hot and Cold.
  • Intricate Bone Figurine - A Proto-Drake Bone can be found off the drakes in the nest areas near Dun Niffelheim. The can drop off mature or young proto-drakes
  • Wicked Sun Brooch - An Iron Dwarf Brooch can fall from any of the iron dwarves up the trail from Dun Niffelheim or from the dwarves found during Spy Games.

Once all the quests are complete, turn in all the Son's of Hodir Quests and fly to Argent Stand in Zul'Drak

Zul'Drak

1. Pick up Troll Patrol from Commander Kunz. If you wish to complete the run in the 20 minute timer period, I suggest you make your way to Alchemist Finklestein first. This way, if you waste too much time trying to finish his daily (by far the most annoying of the grouping), you can abandon it and the Troll Patrol daily and re-start the timer by taking Troll Patrol Commander Kunz again.

2. Fly to Alchemist Finklestein at 35, 52 and accept Troll Patrol: The Alchemists Apprentice. Talk to him a second time and tell him you are ready to begin. The prepare yourself to run around finding the 5 things he needs to complete his potion. He will whisper to you what he needs. When he does, use the picture below to help you find which side you should be able to find it on. By right clicking and viewing the picture, you can then print out a copy for easy reference during this quest.

This is not my creation, but it has been posted in Wowhead in the quest comments. Original author unknown.

For the most part, you will want to head to the right side of the buidling for almost all of your ingredients (if you are looking at the cauldron with the room entry behind you). The reason is that the cauldron is closer to that side of the room, meaning a few less steps between each ingredient. After you pick up the needed ingredient, run back to the cauldron and right click on it to drop it in. Repeat this four more time, finding different ingredients each time until you are given a completed message. Turn in the quest to complete Troll Patrol: The Alchemists Apprentice and part one of Troll Patrol.

3. Fly to Captain Grondel at 48, 64 and accept his quest. All of his quests take place in the shallow water area to his west.

  • Troll Patrol: Couldn't Care Less This is another quest that could ruin your chances to complete the Troll Patrol under the time limit, especially if there are several people all fighting over the low spawn rate of the elementals. You are charged with killing 7 Mossy Rampagers. They may share places with basilisks that roam the area as well, so pretty much kill everything you see and hopefully you can complete this quickly.

  • Troll Patrol: Creature Comforts In the waters you will find large thorn-like sticks poking from the ground with sparkles showing you their locations. Right click on these to collect 20 Dead Thornwood.

  • Troll Patrol: Whatdya Want, a Medal? In the waters and buildings are the bodies of Drakkari trolls. Right click on a body to pick up a Drakkari Medallion. Collect 7 of these to comlete the quest.

After you complete the objectives for the daily, return to Captain Grondel and turn it in. This will complete the second requirement for Troll Patrol.

4. Fly to Captain Rupert and accept his quest.

5. Fly to Captain Brandon and complete his quest.

6. Return to Commander Kunz and turn in Troll Patrol. If done within 20 minute, you can take the "Congratulations!" quest for addition rep and gold.

7. If you have the jewelcrafting daily "Glowing Ivory Figurine", fly to Kamagua in Howling Fjord. Near Kamagua, there are herds of Shoveltusks that roam the area. Kill these for Shoveltusk Ivory.

8. Fly to Wyrmrest Temple in Dragonblight.

Dragonblight

1. Accept the quest from Lord Afrasastrasz on the second level of the temple. Mount one of the dragons just outside the entrance.

If you pick up any of the larger dragons, or your dragon is taking too much damage, use ability 3 and 4 and fly back to Wyrmrest Temple. By the time you make it back, you should be healed up fairly well and you should begin attacking the larger dragons. Best to zoom in, hit them with the ability 2, then make circles while spamming ability 1. Three blasts should take them down, especially with the DoT ability in effect.

One you have downed 3 of the dragons and 5 drakes, fly back to Afrasastrasz and turn in the quest. If you can complete it in under two minutes, you will be given the Rapid Defense achievement.

2. Fly to the Transitus Shield in Borean Tundra

Borean Tundra

Take the quest from Raelorasz and fly to the far west of Coldarra. Park on one of the many low lying peaks to stay away from roaming mobs while having a good chance to snag a drake (exact location of my favorite spot to come). Fly back with captured drake and turn in quest.

Fly up to the top of the nexus spire and get quest from Corastrasza. It is best to have a group for this one, as solo it is a bit of a pain in the rear. I suggest that autocast be turned on (will give instructions once I get them set up) for the heals you can use on your dragon in order to save you a lot of target switching. Complete the quest and hearth back to Dalaran.

Dalaran

From Dalaran, talk to the commander in the flight area and ask him to send you to the Skybreaker in Icecrown.

Icecrown

Take the quest from Absalon the Pious on the Skybreaker. He patrols from the main deck to the upper deck and back down again. Complete his quest and fly to Shadow Vault.

In Shadow Vault, take the three quests and head west over the mountains to Jotenheim. Complete the three quests here and return to Shadow Vault. Fly to Death's Rise.

At Death's Rise, take the three quests and fly to Onslaught Harbor to the west. Complete the three quests and return to Death's Rise and turn in the quests.

Jewelcrafting Dailies located here

  • Blood Jade Amulet - A Vyrkul Amulet will fall from any Vyrkul killed in Jotenheim.
  • Shifting Sun Curio - Fly to Crusader's Point. Travel down the hill and kill undead in this area until a Scourge Curio drops.

Fly back to Dalaran.

Dalaran

Turn in the cooking and jewlcrafting dailies. Pick up the heroic and regular dungeon quests and find a group.

Introduction:

Welcome to the Northrend Daily Guide, my name is Justin. This is my first guide ever, so please leave suggestions and/or tips on how to improve my guides to better suit you. I've always believed gold is the secret to success in this game, and with gold the game becomes easier. In an ongoing series of guides I will be bringing out, I will show you to make simple, legal, fast cash. In this issue of the guide we will be exploring daily quests. Daily quests are quests you can do once every day, each time rewarding you a sum of gold. Now before we get started make sure you meet these basic requirements:

  • I am level 80
  • I have a regular flying mount
  • I have purchased cold weather flying training
  • I have completed most of the quests in Icecrown

If you do not meet these requirements don't panic, I have some solutions. First of all, if you aren't level 80 I suggest following Jame's Guides thoroughly until you reach 80. If you do not have the money (approximately 2100 gold) to purchase your basic flying mount and cold weather flying training, you probably haven't finished all of the regular quests in Northrend. I suggest completing each zone in Northrend because regular quests give almost the same amount of gold as 80 daily quests do. Finally, If you haven't completed quests in Icecrown yet, do them. Doing these quests will not only open up much needed daily quests, but will also provide you with extra gold.

Icecrown Circuit:

Head to Dalaran, then to Krasus Landing [68,43]. Once there talk to Officer Van Rossem, who is located to the immediate right as you walk in, with four body guards. Click the "Take me to the ship." option.

When you land get the quest [80]Blood of the Chosen behind you. Take the left staircase down and get the following quests from Thrassarian:

[80]That's Abominable!
[80]Drag and Drop
[80]Not a Bug

Find Absalan the Pious patting around the ship, he is a dwarf with blackish hair. When you find him get his quest: [80]Slaves to Saronite.

In the middle of the deck of the ship, you should see a sloped indent in the floor, if you go around it you should see a staircase, go down it. Head down one of the two staircases leading down to the final floor of the ship, and get the quests [80]The Solution Solution and [80]Retest Now.

1.Mount up and get out of the ship. Head South-Southeast to the Broken Front [68,62]. Once you've arrived here we're going to do two things:

-Look for Pile of Bones, Abandoned Armor, and Abandoned Helm's which are scattered all over the ground.

-Kill Hulking Abominations until they drop Chilled Abomination Guts.

Once you have collected a pile of bones, an abandoned armor, and an abandoned helm, use your Smuggled Solution on the ground and watch a Skytalon take it and explode. Do this three times to complete [80]The Solution Solution.

2.After you get a Chilled Abomination Guts head to [66,63] and use your Abomination Reanimation Kit. This will allow you to control an Abomination pet for a little while. You have two abilities: Faltulate and Burst at the Seams. Faltulate stuns all the targets around the Abomination, and Burst at the Seams makes your pet explode, killing all targets near him. When you pet is summoned, send him into the pile of undead right in front of the Death Gate [66,33]. Stun adds as you pull more then explode when you have a decent amount of adds. Remember to be close to your abomination when he explodes, or you won't get credit for the kills. Rinse and Repeat until [80]That's Abominable! is completed.

==Note== Remember each time your Abomination dies you have to kill more Hulking Abominations to get Chilled Abomination Guts to resummon your pet.

==Note== from now on keep any Vrykul Bones you get.

3.Mount up and head north to a pit with alliance soldiers in it [62,51]. You should see two daily quests, but we're only doing one. Pick up [80]Assault by Ground and start the escort. You'll be escorting 4 Skybreaker Infantry and a Skybreaker Squad Leader through Vrykul assaults on the way to Ymirheim. You'll get 2-3 ambushes of about 4-5 Vrykul, all of which are ranged. Let the NPCs tank the adds as you kill one add at a time. DO NOT let the NPCs die however, or you'll need to restart. After the escort is finished proceed to step 4.

4.Continue west through Ymirheim [59,53]. Slay the rest of the Vrykul you need for [80]Blood of the Chosen as you head up the slope going north.

5.Once you get to the top of the slope take a left and enter the cave. In the mine you'll see NPC's called Saronite Mine Slaves. Approach one and click the option "Go on, you're free. Get out of here!" The NPC will either run free and you'll get credit for your quest, or will attack you. He might also just run away, doing neither. Talk to these until [80]Slaves to Saronite is completed.

6.Get out of the mine and head south to a little gnome called Frazzle Geargrinder [56,62]. Now before you get her quest [80]King of the Mountain, watch this short video in high quality.

Video: King of the Mountain

After you turn in the quest (as instructed on the video) mount up and head back to the pit [62,51] where [80]Assault by Ground was and turn the quest in.

7.Head to the north of Ymirheim where you'll find a cultist camp [55,46]. Start killing Bitter Initiate's. WARNING: Do not kill Dark Subjugator. When an Initiate drops an Orb of Illusion, find a Dark Subjugator and target it, use the orb on them. Do this three times until [80]Drag and Drop is completed.

8.Mount up and head north to Aldur'thar [54,31]. Drink your Diluted Cult Tonic and start to kill everything around here. Focus on killing Void Summoner's and their Enslaved Minions. Use your Rod of Siphoning on the corpses of Enslaved Minions to get dark matter. Keep clearing around here until you have 10 Tainted Essence's and 5 Dark Matter.

==Note== Remember to refresh your Diluted Cult Tonic buff every 10 minutes, or the Tainted Essence won't drop.

9.After you have 10 Tainted Essence's and 5 Dark Matter, head to a cultist camp about 200 yards away from where the summoner's were [53,33]. Dismount in the center of the camp and click the Summoning Stone. When your done channeling, re mount and head west [48,34].

10.In this cultist camp you should see three cauldrons. Combine your Tainted Essence's by clicking the Tainted Essence in your bag (similar to motes/eternals} to form a Writhing Mass. Stand near a cauldron and click the Writhing Mass in your bag.

1.Mount up and head northwest to The Shadow Vault [43,24]. Sell your junk, but remember not to sell Vrykul Bones yet. Get the following quests at The Shadow Vault:

[80]Leave Our Mark
[80]Vile Like Fire!

Do not get [80]Shoot Em' Up. This quest has been bugged since the PTR and is extremely hard to do, thus a waste of time.

2.Mount up and head southwest to Jotunheim [32,42]. You might notice we are outside a cave, go inside and turn in 15 Vrykul Bones for a Fate Rune of your choice. Eat this and it gives you 30 minute buff to help you out with your quests.

3.Start killing Vrykul while heading north through Jotunheim. Remember to use your Ebon Blade Banner on the corpses of dead Vrykul. Keep any Vrykul Bones you get here.

4.Clear until you get to a ledge with many Proto-Drakes on it [27,39]. Don't worry if you haven't finished your 15 Vrykul kills yet. Get close to one of the Photo-Drake's and right click it to mount it. Use your Burst of Speed spell to move quickly, and use your Strafe Jotunheim Building spell to light the roofs of buildings here on fire. Go around and light 8 roofs on fire until [80]Vile Like Fire! is completed.

5.Once you've gotten your 8 roofs lit, demount by clicking the red drop arrow on the right hand side of your custom bar. Keep killing Vrykul until you have [80]Leave Our Mark completed.

==Note== If you have 15 more Vrykul Bones at this point, you can head back to the cave to get another Fate Rune buff [32,42]. If you don't care for a buff, move on to the next step.

6.Mount up and head west along the cliff line to Death's Rise [20,47]. Sell junk. Get the following quests here:

[80]No Fly Zone
[80]From Their Corpses, Rise!
[80]Intelligence Gathering

1.Head northwest to Onslaught Harbor. Once you get there make sure Bone Gryphon is on your bar. Start killing Gryphon Rider's while on your Bone Gryphon, and use your Darkmender's Tincture on them. Also if they drop a key you should use the key on the chest's lying around the ground and on the towers.

Tip: Once you've gotten all your Gryphon Rider's slain, go to the beaches on the northern side of the island [6,39] and clear here for the rest of your intel documents, lots of Scarlet mobs around here.

Do this until you complete [80]No Fly Zone, [80]From Their Corpses, Rise!, and [80]Intelligence Gathering.

2.Fly back to Death's Rise [20,47] and turn in everything. Take the flight path, which is a bat on the ridge of the Death's Rise and fly to The Shadow Vault. Turn in everything.

3.Mount up and head back to the ship, turn in everything here.

Finally clear horde up to the house on the hill at [14,76] and smoke the rest of the Venture Company Stragglers you need. Northrend Daily Guide: Icecrown to Grizzly Hills (Horde)

Table of Contents

  1. Icecrown Circuit
  2. Grizzly Hills Circuit

Introduction:

Welcome to the Northrend Daily Guide, my name is Justin. This is my first HORDE guide ever, so please leave suggestions and/or tips on how to improve my guides to better suit you.

Shinke's Horde Grizzly Hills PvP Dailies Guide

Grizzly Hills is only 2nd in line to Wintergrasp in the case of Northrend PvP. This guide is devoted to that.
Grizzly Hills has 3 designated PvP zones with daily PvP quests and rewards. This guide is going to take you through the fastest way possible, to get that stuff outta the way! =P

Part 1: Blackriver Logging Camp

The first place we'll go to is found at the island just east/northeast of Conquest Hold

Accept Blackriver Brawl from Captain Kronn.

Kill 10 Alliance players or NPC's on the island. The Orcs will help if you need it.

Go back, turn in, get your money and/or 20k XP.

Part 2: Blue Sky Logging Grounds

This is our second destination in this day, and in my opinion the easiest.

Accept the following:

  • Shred The Alliance
  • Making Repairs
  • Overwhelmed!
  • Keep 'Em on Their Heels

Head to the island southeast of the camp.

  1. Pick up every Shredder Part you see until you finish Making Repairs

  2. Kill every Alliance NPC / Player you see.

  3. Use the Renewing Tourniquet on Wounded Skirmishers you find.

  4. Once done with those 3, find a Shredder and run back to camp in it.

Once you have all 4 quests complete, turn them in.

Part 3: Venture Bay

Now it's time to take an epic ride out of Blue Sky Logging Grounds.

Find the NPC on the same level as the Horde quest givers, he's standing on a platform next to a "waterway." (Sort of shown in pic)

Talk to him.

This may say "You are busy" just keep trying until you are riding a log down to Venture bay. It took me 12 tries my first time.

This is the largest of the PVP hubs with a captureable area in the center (the lighthouse) that offers the daily quest Riding the Red Rocket if your faction controls the area. If you have control of the lighthouse you also get access to the Venture Coin rewards vendor. Here you will do the daily PVP quests Smoke 'Em Out, Keep Them At Bay,and Crush Captain Brightwater!.There is also a non-daily PVP quest here - Seeking Solvent - that turns into a turn-in quest Always Seeking Solvent after you complete it.

1.

Kill every Alliance mob (or player if you prefer) on your way to the closest building with Venture Company Stragglers.

Once here, use the Smoke Bomb

After clearing that house you should have 5-7 of the 20 you need complete.

Head east (killing Allys still) to the next house.

Use the Smoke Bomb once again.

At this point if you don't have all 20 there's one more house just to the east.
You should be done with Smoke 'Em Out.

2.

Now head south to the dock.

Go to the easternmost ship.

Here you'll find 3 Alliance mobs and Captain Brightwater.

He's a 74 Elite but only has 30k HP. Easy to solo for anyone.

3.

Head to the middle ship.

Now you're going to clear the ship to the last room.

Here you'll find Element 115.

Pick it up and you'll get a debuff that increases damage taken by 35% and doesn't allow you to move faster from mounts or any other buffs.

Run back to camp avoiding fights and turn in all the quests. (assuming you killed 10 allys around the area.)

If your faction has control of the island, you can do Riding the Red Rocket. For this quest you need to go back to the middle ship and take the Element 115 to the dock at the end of the island. Mount on the rocket.

This is in my opinion one of those games you saw in an arcade in 1987. You have to go south for about 5 seconds then go east, avoiding icebergs, and run into the Ally ship docked on the edge of the island.

Note, this is not one of the boats we've been to before, it's east of them. And if you crash into an iceberg you have to go back for the Element 115 again.

After you do all of these quests (assuming you aren't 80 yet) You'll get 5 or 6 gold each, along with 20k XP each, for a total of nearly 200k XP per day. Thats not bad. Continue to do this while leveling to 80 as you get a good amount of Venture Coins That you can turn in on the controllable island at Venture Bay for rewards. The complete list of rewards is here. Plus a lot of XP!

WotLK Daily Quest Checksheet

Hello everyone

Well, after popular demand, a help from a co-worker, here is the PDF version of my checksheet that most seemed to want. Updates coming soon, espcially after Patch to 3.1.

Well this is my first shot a submitting something so bear with me.

Now...
If you happen to be scatterbrained like me sometimes, I made this tool to help me remember to do all my WotLK daily quests. I have e-mailed it to a lot of my guildies and they have loved it. So I thought I would submit it to my favorite and most used site! (Sorry for the cheesy plug.)

Anyway, It's pretty simple, and I put it in a word format so that you can customize it for yourself. Also I don't have a PDF converter, but it's not like it's a copyrighted thing Smiling

I recommend printing the 2 sheets, then laminating them. That way you can use a dry erase marker on it.

Hope you all enjoy this and find it useful

Introduction/Updates

This is the Horde version of a Northrend daily guide. Rather then say that you have to do the zones in a certain order, I would much rather show you the dailies inside the zone, and the most effective way to do them, that way, you can choose whatever zone you wish to do dailies in and complete them. Zul'Drak is under construction ATM, and the spoils section has been taken down for updates.

Doing every daily you possible can in this guide (Revered with Sons of Hodir, 3 Oracle Quests) you will have done 17 out of 25 daily quests for the day. So prioritize what dailies you need to or want to do that day.

Useful Addons

To get the most out of my guide, you should get an addon which displays coordinates, because I use them to describe locations in my guide (x,y). You can use any addon you like, but here's a very simple one I use.

Recommended

  • DMiniCoords - A simple box which displays coordinates, left-click it to move it where you like.
  • LightHeaded - I absolutely love this addon. It gives you the quest comments from WoWHead and you can see what other people had to say about the quest, it also gives you clickable co-ordinates.
  • TomTom - Puts a Waypoint arrow on your screen when you click the co-ordinates on LightHeaded, also marks them on your map.
  • TitanPanel - It can track how much money an hour you are making, and the cost of repairs.

Optional

Below is a list of other addons I use, this is 100% optional though, it's mostly for people who are curious to know which addons I use:

Side Note: In case you don't know how to install add-ons, simply download an addon from one of the links above and unzip it. Then drag the unziped folder in your Addon folder (full path is c:\\Program Files\\World of Warcraft\\Interface\\Addons). Then, restart World of Warcraft and it should be working.

If it isn't working, you might need to log out to your character selection screen and click on "Addons" in the lower-left corner. Tick the box that says "Load out of date Addons". Re-launch WoW.
