v1.1: Fixed BBcode errors
v1.2: Community Contributions section, Thanks Darkerri for the first! =D
Intro: Hi, i have 4 level 70's, 2 60+'s and numerous alts all in there 30's/40's. I dont have an instane ammount to play, as i still have school and stuff, but i know how to level fast, and thats what im going to try and teach you here.
This guide will teach you tips and strategies to avoid getting burned out and creating the spiral that is "altaholicism"
BEGGINING NOTE
this is not a hardcore guide, if you can ding 70 by straight grinding in 6 days /played, go right ahead, youve already passed this stage of your game. If you suffer from the severe case of altaholicisim, then read on, as these tips should help anyone suffering from this problem.
1. Pick a guide
First, if you are just starting out in the game, find a leveling guide, some of the best out there (arguably on the same scale of james' and joana's leveling guides) you can find right here on this website. Leveling guides will show you what to do, and will give you a general idea of how powerleveling works in this game. Once you have a few high level chars from following a guide, you may be able to start following your own path and getting all of the quests done on your own because as with everything, all of these guides aren't perfect, and maybe havent been run with your class. For example, i played a blood elf mage right after BC came out, and i found myself dieing alot on some of the quests because they simply arent soloable as a mage where a hunter (the class the guide was written about) would have no problem with it. Making a few tweaks, like instead of doing x quest before you get to level 20 and get your significantly more powerful spells, you could grind it out instead in an area where you were doing other quests.
One note: Complete Grinding is not faster than questing, and most likely gets you burned out before you even get close to your desired level. It can take roughly 2 hours of grinding to go from 19-20, but i can quest that in 30 mins. The only exception to this is rouges, and shadowpriests, because with rogues you have 0 downtime and can just bandage up, and shadowpriests with high spirit have spirit tap to minimize downtime. Even though warriors can still bandage up, they kill things too slow to be viable grinders. An arms warrior going through his levels is going to take a good 10 or 15 secs more to kill his mobs to grind, and that adds up. fast.
2. Set goals for yourself
This is an important part, One thing i noticed while leveling a few alts was, as soon as i started the char i would look at the t1/2/3/4/5/6 armor sets on them and be like "wow they look cool i gotta rush to 70 fast". This is a big mistake, One thing i tried to do when i was starting most of my alts was i would set a goal and say" Wow theres this really cool spell at 20 i want (like ghostwolf, blink, aspect of the cheetah" and i really want to run that instance deadmines its so fun" and in around 5 or 6 hours of /played, i would be at 20 and running deadmines, and i would get a feeling of accomplishment and be proud of myself. Then i would say to myself "Gnomeregan/sm library looks fun and felhunter at 30 looks awesome for pvp" so my next goal would be to get to level 30 and i would get that feeling of accomplishment all over again. do this, and when you get to the higher levels maybe bring it down to 5, 4, 3, and in outland, 1 level in a day or two of solid playing is awesome. Most instances in outland are alot of fun compared to the azerothian instacnes so set goals for yourself that i wanto get to x level so i can run y instance and get z new BC spell
3. Take it slow, read the quest text
I know it can seem tedious, but reading the quest text really gives you a sense of involvement and it compells you to do the quest to save whatever. When i leveld my first draenei i really enjoyed the starting area's quest line with the story being that we were crashed on this strange island and dont know if were the only survivors, only to find out later after rebuilding the emitter there were other draenei still alive. I know it sounds boring, but it will keep you from getting burned out and thats most important.
4. Listen to good music!
I know it sounds silly, but listening to the same tracks over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and overand over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and OVER again gets really boring and makes you get bored from the game. Im quoting Eera's "Fast Leveling Tips" guide on this website here:
Ok this is the part that really helps, more than the mods, more than the logical thinking, more than questing. This is what will help you keep your sanity when you play for hours on end, music.
Thats right, it's proven, music helps you level a LOT easier. Not just any music though, music that really gets you going, gets you pumped up, keeps you awake.
A good list was written up by one of the DJs for one of the radio stations I listen to (Which will be mentioned shortly) of decent artists to look into for your grinding needs:
Electronica:
1. DJ Tiesto
2. Paul Van Dyk
3. Ian Van Dahl
4. Orbital
5. Trance Control
6. Infected Mushroom
7. Armin Van Buren
8. Ayla
9. Kimball Collins
10. Kraftwerk
11. Chemical Brothers
12. DJ Oakenfold
13. DJ Sasha & Digweed
14. SaxionPike
Metal & Things of the Rock or Alternative Persuasion:
1. Sonata Arctica
2. Tristania
3. Black Label Society
4. Iced Earth
5. Primal Fear
6. Symphorce
7. Lacuna Coil
8. Within Temptation
9. Dragonforce
10. Nine Inch Nails
11. Drowning Pool
12. Korpiklaani
13. Rhapsody
14. Switchblade Symphony
15. Type O
16. Dimmu Borgir
17. Iron Maiden
18. Epica
19. The Gathering
20. After Forever
21. Nevermore
22. Killswitch Engage
23. Rammstein
Some other good people recommended by Hakker:
Basshunter (one of my favorites hes an EXTREMELY famous dance music creater from sweden who makes gaming music)
My Chemical Romance (there fast stuff not the slow ones)
The Used
System of a down
Sum 41
Paul Stanley
The Killers
AFI
Billy Talent
Ok so if you're not into that kind of music and preffer listening to some radio, look at http://www.wcradio.com, shows every day, good conversations and good music in the preshows and the music breaks, good for people that don't like listening to music all the time.
Ontop of that if you can't a break from music, if you're in a guild or a gaming community that has a Ventrilo or Teamspeak server you might want to go on there and talk with them.
Anything that keeps your mind from all the quests your doing and all the mobs you're killing. It makes the time pass faster and makes it more enjoyable.
(recommended by Hakker) Another good wow radio show is Taverncast, although they havent updated there podcasts in a while, they still are the funniest wow podcasters and have the best edited shows out of any free podcast out there.
5. Dont buy off the AH if you can avoid it
Unless your gear is EXTREMELY crappy for your level, you can get awesome gear from quests that will keep you good until you get to raiding. Buying gear off the ah is pointless and not needed. If you really need to update your gear, take a break from the guide and farm an instance. Ive never had trouble buying my normal, epic, and normal flyer mount ever because i dont buy needles crap off the AH. Begging makes you look bad and will land you on quite a few peoples ignore lists. Go to the auction house and sell. never buy, unless you plan on reselling. its even possible to go from 1-60 without any gear at all, infact its already been done. (not 60-70 because outland is HEAVILY gear dependant) if your interested you can check out the Naked Troll Project article here http://wow.qj.net/Naked-Troll-Project-reaches-its-goal/pg/49/aid/68828
6. If you get bored, do something else!
If your not listening to what im saying, doing straight grinding, not listening to any music and not getting involved in the game, you will get bored. When that happens, do something else! farm a fun instance, do battlegrounds, gank lowbies in barrens, raid something. Just take a break and keep on your chosen character. The last thing you want to do is make an alt before your completely done with your character. That sets you on the long, hard path of altoholcisim, a serious problem in america, that leads to car crashes, dead babies, and cancer.
7. Join a good guild!
You play an mmo for social interaction, then use it! good guilds help keep you focused on your character and help keep you enjoying the game. I was completely bored of my first 70 before i joined an awesome friendly raiding guild and i would play for hours on end. Buidl your social relations in the game, even if you dont plan on playing to 70, socializing is half of any mmo game.
8. Get a life!
Exploring outside the game is a really good way to keep you interested, it keeps you from playing so much you get burned out fast, and it keeps you from, well, losing all of your friends =O
9. Pick the right talents
If you plan on leveling as fast as possible without burning out, then you have to make sure you have the right talents. Spec for the most damage as possible. If you need some good builds, there are awesome ones right here on this website (hint hint: Hakker's In Depth Class Guides could use some more hits =)
10. Dont be afraid to explore!
Following a guide to every single step gets boring and tedious. Fast. Dont be afraid to do anything the guide doesnt tell you to do, go and explore some of the zones you dont visit, Deadwind pass, even though most of the zone is 70, the early parts look really awesome. Beggar's haunt in duskwood, a place hardly known by anyone, is just north of that path and has an area with a cemetary and two dark portal guards next to a waterfall.
Closing: Well these are the ways that keep me from getting burned out while leveling, i really hope they can help you alot
More about me: I have 4 level 70's on the Stomreaver server, my fastest time being 10 days 17 hours/played, and i have 2 60+'s on Zul'Jin server, where my fastest time to 60 was 5 days 2 hours /played, and i also have many other 40+ alts on that server that i still play time to time but were mostly the product of my former altaholcisim.

11. Always log out in an inn, so you get the rested EXP bonus. The 50% extra EXP only effects creature deaths, not quests. It helps in the long-shot. (thanks darkerri =D)
A few tips you should always remember when grinding:
1.: Always remember bandages and food, grinding is no good without it.
2.: Getting into big discussions/chats in the /gchat or /wchat or whatever is always fun, and it definitely makes the grinding less boring, however it will slow you down… You can go from 40k/hour to 30k/hour just by having a conversation in the chat which doesn’t seem to take up a lot of time… Keep that in mind if u really want to lvl fast.
3.: If you can’t stand to grind non-stop, just combine it with some questing to ease it up a little...
4.: If you go back to IF/Orgrimmar every half lvl to check AH, you will lose a lot of time with the travelling… Although u may have your hearthstone there, the trip back again will cost you a lot of time…
There’re many reasons to go back to the main city during your grinding, but I guarantee you most of them can be done with a lvl 1 char sitting in the main city, just to check the AH and buy stuff for you… You mail some gold to it to do your dirty work, and it can mail the items back to you.
5.: Always remember to sit your character at the nearest Inn when you log off, to gain rested time… It is really worth it, or rather: Not worth not to do it .
6.: I am very well aware of there’s some very good grinding spots in AV, however I highly discourage this, you will take up a spot in the battleground and you will not help ur team… You will actually help the opposing faction win, which is just stupid… Do not do this if you have any respect for your own faction!
First off a little infomation about me:
My highest level character is a 67 Paladin, I have a 62 mage and 61 rogue and a load of other alts. Leveling is pretty much my hobby, I find it fun as long as I have the things that I'm going to list off and explain to you below.
I'd like to say one more thing before I go on to the guide, if you get the chance at 60+ to go to the old instances like Zul'Gurub, Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, AQ20/40 (Assuming you do the attunements) go to them all at least once, I personally regret not going to my guilds AQ runs because I went in there with some randoms a while ago after we had stopped raiding and enjoyed the encounters. The old instances are still a lot of fun and will always be a challange, though admittedly not as challanging as the newer ones.
But, with all that said and done, onto the guide.
Preface
What is this guide about?
Simply what the title says, fast, effective, and boredom free leveling. I've done a lot of leveling and the things I'm going to share with you here are what I use for really fast leveling, though it does take a logical way of thinking things through.
Acknowledgments
Eriyanna of WoW Radio for the list of grinding music.
Jame for their leveling guide.
Do I have to be a specific faction/class/race for this?
No, you do not, this is not a leveling guide like what James has done, though I do advise his guides for leveling once you reach the levels to start them (Alliance: 30, Horde: 21). Your race and class does not really affect your ability to level. Rogues however may want to pickpocket humanoids to get money whilst leveling, but honestly I leveled my paladin and warrior with the occasional instance where they tanked (high repair costs) and still made a lot of money from questing.
It's worth thinking about what class you are going to play though as some class/race combinations are very nice. Example of this would be human priest, shadow priests get a 5 point talent that doubles their spirit (regen) when dealing the final blow to a target that gives honor or exp. Since human priests get extra spirit they get that extra mana and health regen every fight so less downtime.
Ok, so I can play whatever class/race I want and this guide will help me level faster?
Exactly, the guide doesn't contain race/class specific tricks/tips, just general fast leveling advice.
The Guide
Ok with all that said and done, if you're reading now you want to level, so here is my advice.
Part 1 (AddOns)
Being prepared is vital to being fast at leveling, I started a Blood elf recently and within 45minutes (Including bathroom/food breaks) I went from 1-6 in an area I didn't know. How you might ask, Addons, thats right I'm going to give you a list of the only addons you will ever need for leveling.
Monkey Quest
Ok the reason this improves your leveling is simple, the mod basically brings up a window that lets you track all the quests in your quest log at the same time, you can do the same with the blizzard one but only up to 5 quests. However thats not what makes this great, on your tooltip (when you mouse over a mob or item in your inventory) if it is a quest item/mob it will say "Quest item x/y". Ontop of that you also get the tracked quest text in the window highlights itself when you're in an area/near an npc mentioned in the quest log. THAT my friends is what makes this mod so great, you can cut down SO much time by using that, I know I have.
Cartographer
Apart from the social aspect of knowing where all your guildies that use the same mod are this mod also marks all quest givers and vendors that you find with a "!", "?" or coin icon, names them, shows what quests they give, if they are completed on your current character, allows you to set a waypoint (Arrow above your character with the distance, direction and how long it will take you to get there) on that npc. This mod is amazing for when you level multiple characters, think about it, you play 1 character from 1 to 70, you have all the quests marked ready for you to do again with your next character and know exactly where to hand each quest in at. It's such a massive time saver.
All these mods can be found on http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/files/addons/ (If this does not take you to the WoW Addons search click World of Warcraft, then load the new page, on the left side click Addons) search for them and download them, install them and love them.
A quick guide for those that don't use addons often, when you download them extract them to your:
J:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns
Basically where you installed world of warcraft, go to that folder, interface, AddOns and install them there.
Load up WoW, log in, go to your realm, on the character select screen make sure your addons are all enabled (You may need to update them, the updates are usually put up on Curse-gaming when they are available), if they are "Out of Date" click use out of date addons and it will most likely still work for a patch or two without being updated.
Part 2 (Logical Leveling)
So you've got your Mods, now this is the bit that's near impossible to teach but I'll try, Logical thinking.
If you look and use Jame's Leveling guides you'll see an example of logical thinking for quests. To level fast you want to go to each location for mob killing as few times as possible and get the most done at once. You'll find a lot of the time there are 2+ quests in the same area, be it killing 2 kinds of mobs or finding quest items.
The thing you learn from using Jame's guides is to do circuits of the zone map, completing as many quests as possible in the shortest space of time (complared to doing 1 quest at a time, going back to the npc, getting another quest, doing that, going back etc.), mass quest completion really gives you a massive boost to your exp/hour because you've not done 1 quest at a time.
Part 3 (Eera's philosophy)
"Questing is better than grinding, but grinding whilst questing=good."
This is a saying I've used for a long time now, basically if you compare exp per session of someone that has sat their grinding mobs constantly for 3 hours to someone who is doing a lot of quests that involve killing X mobs or getting item Y from Mob Z you'll find thatthe person that does the quests has a greater amount of exp gain, why, because quests give you exp (Not to mention gold), mobs give you exp also, so combining them gives you the greatest ammount of exp compared to grinding alone. That and it's much less boring.
What you getting bored of all that questing? I better get onto my next section of the guide.
Part 4 (Music)
Ok this is the part that really helps, more than the mods, more than the logical thinking, more than questing. This is what will help you keep your sanity when you play for hours on end, music.
Thats right, it's proven, music helps you level a LOT easier. Not just any music though, music that really gets you going, gets you pumped up, keeps you awake.
A good list was written up by one of the DJs for one of the radio stations I listen to (Which will be mentioned shortly) of decent artists to look into for your grinding needs:
Electronica:
Metal & Things of the Rock or Alternative Persuasion:
Ok so if you're not into that kind of music and preffer listening to some radio, look at http://www.wcradio.com, shows every day, good conversations and good music in the preshows and the music breaks, good for people that don't like listening to music all the time.
Ontop of that if you can't a break from music, if you're in a guild or a gaming community that has a Ventrilo or Teamspeak server you might want to go on there and talk with them.
Anything that keeps your mind from all the quests your doing and all the mobs you're killing. It makes the time pass faster and makes it more enjoyable.
Part 5 (Talents)
So you've got your Mods, you've got your music, you've got your philosophy, you (Hopefully) have your logic. What else is there?
Honestly there isn't much left to mention apart from 1 thing that I touched on earlier, talents.
When you reach level 10 you get 1 talent point, the short description of talents is a way to specialise and improve your character in certain things. You get 51 talent points at lvl 60, 61 and lvl 70.
When you are intrested in leveling your character you want to go for the following kind of things, talents that reduce your downtime (ie. reduced mana cost, increased mana regen), improving the survivability of your pets (If you picked a hunter/Warlock), improving damage done by your pets (If you picked a Hunter/warlock), increasing your damage done by your main spells.
Go for talents in that order:
If you have a pet they will take the aggro off of you and do damage so your downtime is a lot lower, you can heal your pets via spells/abilities to reduce their downtime and send them in while you sit and eat/drink if needed.
One final note to be mentioned, while not very important for leveling fast, it's worth mentioning. You'll see items on the AH (Auction house) from time to time that you really want to buy, try to avoid buying them as you'll often find that they are overpriced and are replaced in a few levels with items from quests/instances (Well, blue/purple items anyway, greens tend to be fairly priced).
You might not think it's that important but if you go and spent most of your gold on items you can find that you don't have enough gold for your skills when you level up which hurts your leveling speed.
A good rule of thumb is upgrade items every 5 or so levels, buying low level greens is often a bad idea as a few simple instances will often get you fairly decent gear and in most cases earn you money instead of losing it.
If you don't have The Burning Crusade Expansion pack you may wish to follow the above rules more strickly than those with TBC, mainly because when you get into outlands you will make money so fast from leveling it's untrue, my paladin is on about 800g even after spending about 350-400g on their epic mount quest at 60, so just by being smart you can make about 1.1-1.2k gold easily in 6 levels.
A few final links to Jame's leveling guide for when you hit the required levels, follow them and the infomation in this guide and you'll be 60 in no time, he's also ment to be bringing out a 60-70 guide soon so look forward to that:

Installation
Mandatory Addons
Three external files are needed to run this addon.
If you are not familiar with the installation of addons, it can be done as follows:
You can check ingame if you've installed it correctly; when you go to the character selection screen, down the bottom there is a button labelled Addons. Click that, then scroll down and look for TomTom and TourGuide (it's in alphabetical order). Make sure they're enabled.

Select the guide you want and there you go!

Select the guide you want and there you go!
Using the Addon
Loading a Guide
Once you enter the game, a TourGuide bar should appear on your screen. It says "No Guide Loaded..." Click the bar, and you will be given a list of guides. Select the one you wish to begin at and left-click it. From there, everything should be automated (the next guide should be selected automatically).

If, however, you wish to chose a new guide, right-click on the TourGuide bar. This will open up a overview of the guide's steps. Down the bottom right are two buttons, "Config" and "Guides". Select Guides to choose a different guide.

Following a Guide
For the most part, the guide is easy to follow. A phrase will appear on the TourGuide bar accompanied by an icon. The icon meanings are as follows:
![]()
This ingame help menu can be accessed by heading to the menu, then selecting "Interface", then "Addons" (up near the top), then expanding (click the + button) "Tour Guide" then selecting "Help" (you can see the "Addons" button and the "Help" part to the left of the screenshot)
Use Item Button
If relevant (for example, the quest Gruesome, But Necessary where you have to use the item on the mob's corpses), a small box will appear. It will have the graphic of the item to use for the quest. You can move it by left-clicking and dragging. Left-click on the box to use the item.
Comments
In addition, there are comments on most objectives that can be accessed by mousing over the TourGuide bar. I've entered them into most objectives; except, for the most part, Accept objectives and Turn-in Objectives, though I do list where each turnin block is on the first objective of the group. It's a good idea to be checking the TourGuide bar before you do each objective. I'm planning in future to add an indicator to the TourGuide bar so users will know if an important comment is present for an objective.
Note Objectives
Note objectives come in two types; auto-completing and non-auto completing. The auto-completing notes should be most of them. However, some will not auto-complete (and indeed are not intended to, meaning that you only click them after you know what you should do).
These non-auto completing notes should come in three flavours: "Repair, restock and vendor junk" (a general reminder when in town and beginning a new circuit, matches those in the guide); "READ THIS" (used to convey important information about the next objective that you want to know before you start) and "Things to do" (side objectives to complete as you quest).
I've tried to keep non-auto completing notes to these three formats, but I'm fairly sure I've slipped in places, so bear with me there.
Author's Note: Not all of these guides have been thoroughly playtested and as such there will be some errors. I do try get it right, but they do slip through. Wowhead or Jame's internet guide will help in the case of an error.
Supplementary Addons
DoubleWide - A simple but helpful addon, it makes the quest log twice as wide and much easier to read.
This section is still just new (I know about QuestHelper but LightHeaded performs the same function), so suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Leveling can be a pain sometimes, but by following a few simple guidelines you can make it very easy.
First off, I'll discuss the three methods of leveling. Questing, grinding and instancing. Everyone has their own opinion of what is the best way to level. Really, if you want to be leveling in a fast and efficent way, you should mix all three methods together.
Now, how does this work? First, you go to the area you want to level in. (E.G. Duskwood, at level 25). Then you head to the major towns/cities and pick up all the quests. Now, go out and do as many quests as you can, but try to not always be running back to town.
Eventually, you will only have group/elite quests left. This is where you run an instance. Pick an instance close to your level, do all the pre-quest work and then run the instance until its starts to get a bit boring.
Then is time to grind. Grinding for long periods of time is very boring, so just grind for as long as you can. Try to find a spot where the monsters die fast and have good drops.
After all of this, your ready to do the elite/group quests. You may be able to solo some, otherwise just find a group to help you.
Now your level is probably high enough to move on to the next zone and repeat the process. Using a mixture of leveling techniques allows you to obtain the benefits of each technique without becoming bored quickly.
There are a few other things that could speed up your leveling.
1. Buy the biggest bags you can, as soon as you can. Early on, you don't need good armor and bags off the Auction House shouldn't cost too much.
2. Always loot EVERYTHING. Even grey vendor trash can add up to make some good money.
3. Sell all greens/blue/reagants/cloth on the Auction House. People pay heaps for those.
4. Use your talent points in a way that increases your dps and reduces downtime. The faster you can kill a monster and then jump to the next one, the faster you level.
5. Before purchasing a mount, kill all monsters while you are traveling. This provides an extra boast to your experience.
I hope you found these tips helpful for leveling your World of Warcraft character.
Leveling tips for the starters of World of Warcraft
1. Always update your food and make sure to have a lot of it. Levels:(5) (15) (25) (35) (45) (55) (65) (75)
2. Remember to have a alt at the bank. this way you don't have to run to get stuff from your bank or from your auctions. just put an alt near a mailbox (orgrimmar) and then have take your items. when leveling you can get some cool things you can sell on the auction. go to the closest mailbox and mail them to your alt.
3. Now for this tip, there has been alot fo debate. Basically many people think that this tip goes against james leveling guide. Well im not going to be a liar; It does. I made this tip for people who are not using his guide (even though its great) and for people who just want to play it by ear.The tip was to grab all the quests you can. Now i realize in many cases this is not advised. But when it comes to having just a little bit more experiance till you can go to the next zone and you just want to get there really quickly. Dont be afraid to go quest hunting. Now in many situation some quests are just time wasters. For example, dont just go into a dungeon to do a quest. As much as it might help; in the time you could be done that quest you could be alreay done maybe 5 quests. Your basically going in there for griding exp or gear. The quest is just a bonus. However if your getting run then its the other way around. It will be worth it if your just doing a quick run with a higher level.
4. Make sure to use addons to help you quest. things such as Quest helper or Cartographer can put a way point to your leveling; (like a GPS) on your screen telling you were to go. its really helpful and can bring your played time down a lot.
to get these addons either Curse MMORPG Addons Site or The Safe + Reliable Wowinterface SiteNow remember that if you are using james guide addon you do NOT need these. just skip this step if you are.
questhelper (click here to download)
Carbonite Quest (click here to download)
5. Try not to leave quest items in your bank. remember that you will need them eventually and that any time when you are somewhere u will need them, and you don't have them, you will have to run all the way back.
6. When at a lower level don't worry as much about quests. yes do killing quests but things such as collection quests. unless they are to do with killing don't do them until you are at least level 3-4. its really easy top grind to level 3, that's all I'm saying. Now im not saying that you cannot im just saying that in my opinion, i just like gridning for the first few levels
7. Unless you are a really high level don't worry about your professions. if you have skinning just skin he monsters and you will level up quick. the only profession you may want to worry about is First Aid and if you have skinning that too. other than that you don't really need to unless you want to cook for yourself than that's a different situation.
8. When ever you log out make sure to log out in the nearest inn. this will give you rested experience which is double the experience you would get for killing a monster in normal mode.
9. Grinding alone isn't always fun. try questing and grinding together. together they make a great match. but really its all your choice.
10. When a lower level try to put you hearth to the nearest inn were your leveling and not to a main city. when you get above 30-40 then you may want to switch because there is a lot more questing and stuff int he main cities.
11. many people say don't do your dailies when your a low level. I don't believe that. Its a fun quest and the game is about fun. Your having fun in Battlegrounds plus getting your experience. however once your daily is done go back to leveling.(optional tip; my opinion), as much fun as this may be, i like it, but it is not always advised as it is not the best leveling quests. Its fun to get extra honor and kill some alliance/horde. However in most cases i don't suggest it, especially in cases of wanting to get to 80 as fast as possible.
12, A new tip now.. i have found that when leveling (especially in Northrend) your best bet is to grab those dailies for a bit of extra exp... if your in James guide for some reason, I Don't Know.... you don't want to do a specific quest, you can replace it w/ a daily. however this isn't always great as it can mess up the chain of quests and you might just end up doing it anyways. but for example if you need a bit extra experience, this is a nice little way to get a bit more. for example you used James guide but your at 79 and you finished the guide. for some reason your not 80, you might of missed a step your probably thinking, well instead of having to go back, pick up some dailies and finish them to get a little bit more extra experience
Thanks for reading my leveling tips for world of warcraft. i hoped you liked them and i hope they will help you.Remember these tips are more for the begineers. most of these tips are just common sense, but some people forget what they should commonly do. Thats why i made this guide.
Have fun leveling,

Preface:
This was written with Stranglethorn Vale in mind but with these simple rules can be applied to any zone. This guide is more about dealing with getting ganked more than it is about avoiding getting ganked. If you spend a whole lot of time trying to avoid PVP it’s going to eat up much more time than if you just die and get back to work. If your goal is to level fast and avoid distractions please read on, if you want to enjoy a little pvp while leveling just do the opposite of what I suggest and I can almost guarantee you’re going to be waist deep in the opposite faction.
Ziah's guide to dealing with PVP while following Jame's leveling guides:
While you’re following Jame’s leveling guides Stranglethorn Vale can be a big slow down when you’re dealing with all the ganking going on. I managed to breeze through the zone pretty good. With just a few simple (and passive) rules you can minimize your down time. I want to share these methods I used to minimize how many times I got ganked and to make the recovery time as fast as possible.
Before we get into the methods it’s important you live by my mantra…
You are going to get killed. Get over it as fast as possible.
Pre-emptive medicine…
I suggest that if you’re in an area that is rather "busy" just move to another area and try a different quest and come back to it later. If all your quests are in the same area, go grind somewhere else for a few minutes. Chances are that person will finish what they are doing there and move on shortly. Stranglethorn Vale may seem very open but there are a lot of little hidden nooks that you can grind for 10 minutes or so in peace while you wait for the enemy to vacate the area you need to quest in.
The simple rules if a high level player attacks you...
1. Do not run away!!
Just stand there and die. Don’t even bother fighting back. You’re not going to kill a level 70! Why spend 10 minutes getting chased, hiding and eventually killed when you can just die and then take 2 minutes to get back to your body, rez up and go back to killing your tigers or whatever. When I use this tactic they get bored really fast because it shows you just don’t care and you’re going to continue what you were doing whether they are there or not.
2. Do not emote!!
Instigating someone that is killing you just makes them mad or gets them all worked up to want to kill you again. They are trying to get an emotional response from you. If you do not give it to them, they look for someone else that will.
3. Don’t worry about the chat window!!
It’s Stranglethorn Vale! We know what goes on there. Complaining and begging for help is much more of a slowdown than just pushing through the distractions and getting killed a few times. You have a task. Focus!!
The simple rules if you come across an equal or lower level player than you...
1. Do not gank them!!
That’s when they get their 70 and grief you. Just give them a pass and let them know you did so by giving a /wave or something. This way they know you could have gotten the jump on them but didn’t. People tend to pay the favor back and leave you alone. Remember, they are leveling too.
2. Let them win!!
If they attack you, fight back but do NOT kill them. This way they don’t keep trying for the "revenge" kill even though you know you could wipe them up in 3 shots. They are generally satisfied with their "win" and they want to go back to leveling too.
If they want to continue to “dual” you because they think you’re a scrub and can get a few easy kills, you can just move on for the time being and come back to those mobs once that player is done in that area. Of course you give them a nice taste of what you can really do so they understand that you let them win. Again, I would avoid laying the killing blow but they will see your not a lightweight and can easily tear them up had you chosen to do so. They will probably not bother with you again, and since you didn’t lay that killing blow revenge from their main won’t be needed.
I got killed about 10 times a day in Stranglethorn Vale. But using the methods above I managed to not get slowed down a whole lot and was out of there in no time. I will be editing this or adding to it If I think of anything else but these few basic tactics are very useful in keeping your play time productive even though you’re on a PVP server.
